Wild shape

Rules Questions

Hey guys, quick question regarding wild shape:
when you wild shape you only get the bonus written in the spell description or you gain the str/dex/con values of the animal you morph into and then apply the bonus?

I mean, if i build a druid with str = 8 and then morph into an elephant would i have 14 str (8 base druid str + 6 for huge animal wild shape) or 36 (30 for base elephant str + 6 for huge animal wild shape)?

You just get it as a bonus to your own strength.
Wild shape only does what it says it does in the Beast Shape spell and in the general Polymorph rules.
Some more details.

Don't think of wild shape as becoming an animal, think of it as putting on a very elaborate and life like animal suit. Your type doesn't change, and you only get the natural attacks of the animal + whatever is listed in the spell.

Basically most of the time Wildshape allows you to get a bonus to your stats, that's it.

What changes as you go up in level is the abilities you get base on your level (and how it emulates Beast Shape), and of course the animal you're wildshaping into.

You get a Size Bonus to something, a size penalty to another stat and some abilities and movement type.

Take into consideration that once magic items come into place, some of them will work, others won't.

You can refer to Polymorph taking into consideration that Wild Shape says.
