Probably Calistria. I'm not into lust at all, nor passion or anything.

But I have been known to not just hold a grudge, but to lovingly embrace it.

Either that or Norgorber. I can't tell you why.

Of course, I'd also be looking to become a god.

Since you asked:

Well, there's the Angel, the succubus turned into an angel turned into a god of Cheliax who's concerns are re-purposing, diplomatic intrigue, and social interrelationships (she is technically a saint of Iomedae as well as an Empyreal Lord)...

... there's Telthor, the paladin associated with draconic and alien bizarre mysteries and creatures - her preferred method is smiting the evil out of half of them and settling the rest as peaceful, integrated citizens - (also a saint of Iomedae, and currently a living citizen in Taldor, though most of her worshipers are, uh, off-planet...)...
Technically, her concerns are esoteric lore, righteous quests, and strength... but I like the explanation given better.

... there's Aranath the "hand of the goddess" - effectively a reincarnation of Savith worshiped by the (now) current inhabitants of Savith Yhi (and two other places), and a chosen "saint" of several goddesses to oppose spoiler...

... there's the various semi-divine "saints" including:
- Carmelizzia the "half-elf" changeling alchemist of Desna and Pharasma who concerns herself with dreaming, changing natures, duality, and reincarnation;
- Nalmida the fetchling inquisitor of Iomedae who concerns herself with light born(e) (of/in) darkness,
- "Con" the dhampir saint of <he's confused>* who concerns himself with the eradication of undeath and evil,
- and the "twin"** saints of Cayden and Iomedae - Ganiel and Menas Eugini Kres II, respectively - who are basically about competition used to empower good and destroy evil (the Cayden-focused tiefling also focuses on taming inner demons, while the Iomdedae-focused human focuses on tempering the excesses of nobility)...

... there's "Min Harath" (Minharath) the burgeoning "lord of miracles" or "lord of life" who isn't really a god, but it's kind of hard to tell (akin to Razmir, but with a bit of a better - and not purposeful - "trick" who is definitely going to be a rival to that guy)...

... and there's the entirely imaginary (at present) "Crlishya" who's a kind of amalgamation of Arshea, Calistria, and Shelyn (in some ways akin to Shimye-Amgigalla, though exclusively worshiped by the one guy who made her up).

Due to various campaigns' stuff, it looks like "Crlishya" might actually start "existing" (sort of)... as Angel, the first one mentioned. Considering Angel's already effectively replaced Easivra (when she consumed part the last vestiges of the remaining essences of both "her"*** and Vyriavaxus through their conjoined artifact), that might just be a possibility.

* He's translating two deities as two other, different deities, and claims to serve them. He... has no ranks in knowledge (religion). Also, his full name is "Contantin 'Dinu' Teodore Basarab" - he's terribly proud of it. No one on this continent uses his 'Dinu' - it's his name for his alternate personality way back when he was bad.
** Not even close. They... they use that term wrongly. They aren't even really related, and were born six decades apart.
*** Technically looking like a canonical error on our part, but there was no information on that, at the time.

With those as options, I'd likely go for either Angel or Minharath - Telthor is actually pretty tempting (she's... really awesome in a lot of ways), but Angel and Minharath both align "closer" to my own view of things. Carmelizzia would be a decent third (or fourth?) choice.

Sarenrae. Because it needs the sun to make the world a worthwhile place, redemption to offer the good path to pretty much everyone, honesty to create healthy relationships and healing to repair which inevitably went wrong.

Well with my outdoorsy rural spirit and such I would worship Erastil. It fits my lifestyle and ideals.

Probably Magdh as that Deity reminds me of the 3 fates, and his Favored Weapon is Scythe so I would go around ending evil peoples lives in the name of Fate.

If I were magically transported to Golarion as I am now, I'd probably remain a Catholic (Aquinas's 5 ways are just as true there as they are on Earth, after all).

If I grew up on Golarion and became an "average" person, I'd probably just worship whichever deity felt most appropriate at the time. Likely Erastil and Abadar most often for a typical commoner or expert.

If I became some sort cool adventurer, I might pay some lip service to either Desna or Cayden Cailean, as they seem to be custom-made as adventurer's gods. If I actually wanted to dedicated myself to one deity it would probably be tough choice between Abadar, Erastil, Iomedae, or Nethys.

As a big fan of Joan of Arc and Paksenarrion, if transported to Golarion I would definitely become a devotee of Iomedae. The problem is that I am really not at committed to being Lawful as I would like, so I'd probably not be a very strict adherent but I love her ideals. Also, as a cultural Catholic I think her tradition would seem more homelike.

IRL, I am an ordained Buddhist priest, but I find Irori annoying. His tradition kind of stands in for the Shao Lin types, but he is no Buddha. He just seems like a stern taskmaster and who wants to end up on Axis - a realm of cold impersonal Law? Brr... Unlike the Buddha (Teacher of Gods and Men), Irori is a mere god and isn't even committed to Good. I could deal with the Empyreal Lord Korada however. He is cool, and has more of the bodhisattva vibe.

I do like Pharasma - she seems civilized, and though not benevolent, she dutifully ensures that the cycle of birth and death operates smoothly and fairly for everyone.

I confess to having a gruesome and morbid fascination with poetic justice and creative forms of damnation such as one finds in Dante's Inferno (have read the Divine Comedy twice in two different translations) and I like the idea of the Machiavellian schemer who nevertheless abides by a code of honor (granted a bit twisted) and so while I would never have anything to do with Asmodeus, I find him fascinating. He is truly the cosmic Magnificent Bastard (as per tvtropes) of Golarion's cosmology.

Calistria truly annoys me. She just seems selfish and mean-spirited. Who needs that kind of drama?

Erastil is too conservative, rural, and patriarchal for my tastes.

Shelyn is the goddess of things I deeply appreciate and admire.

Abadar also annoys me. He just seems like the god of capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism - all things I don't much approve of. Is there a Golarion god for the proletariat?

As a bartender I should really be a worshipper of Cayden, and I do appreciate having good drinking buddies. On the other hand, drunks annoy me (unless they are tipping me well), and too many of my drinking buddies lately have been mooches and/or ugly drunks. I also get kind of a frat boy vibe from Cayden (granted, he is at least a good natured lug). So I wouldn't have much to do with him either.

In general I would approve of all other Good deities.

The Neutral deities and esp. Chaotic Neutral deities I would actively dislike as they are at best impersonal and callous and at worst violent and destructive).

The Evil deities aside from Asmodeus would be worthy of nothing but my contempt and I would kill their adherents as fast as I could identify them (or at least report them to Lawful authorities to deal with).

Cayden Cailean, duh. =P

A slightly-more-serious answer would be what others have said: none. I don't worship here so probably wouldn't there.

I may like paladins and Iomedae as a result, but I think I'm really more NG in real life than LG, so I'd probably follow Sarenrae or Shelyn. They both promote being nice to people, and that's how I try to live my life! No matter how crappy someone is to you, be nice to them, because that just might be the thing that makes their day (MAN I've worked in customer service too long!).

Being a tree hugging pagan I'd be a follower of the Green Faith so Gozreh would probably be my (primary) god of choice, with nods to Pharasma, Cernunnos, the elemental lords & the eldest.

Dark Archive

Desna! Though I'd also probably be okay with Shelyn, Cayden Cailean, Pharasma, Gozreh, and the Green Faith.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm not sure I'd worship one primarily. I'd probably be one of those with a small shrine holds the icons of several.

My shrine would probably hold icons too:
Abadar: As patron of civilization and my profession.
Sarenrae: Light of the world.
Pharasma: I just like her and someone worthy of showing respect to.
Erastil: I appreciate nature and his values most resonate with me.
Shelyn: Love and beauty are worthy of worship, and I could use more of both.

If I had to choose one, I think either Pharasma or Nethys. I could see being a cleric of Pharasma for area, and could represent other deities as well who don't have clerics in the area. I help you on the way in and out, very practical faith that, and like contemplating eternity. Wouldn't mind becoming a psychopomp helping the flow of souls along either after finishing with life.

If Nethys, mystic theurge dedicate to learning all the things. I seek phenomenal cosmic power! (Probably end up being a magic 101 teacher for prospective wizards and clerics.)

The Exchange

I guess, I'd probably work in the service of the Healing Flame, especially as Sarenrae is the goddess of redemption, which strikes quite some chords with me.

Shelyn being an alternative choice for what would be life without love, beauty, art and especially music? Not worth living, in my mind.

Probably Asmodeus and/or Erastil. I like the idea of both of them, but pure good is boring, and evil sends you to hell. A combination would be nice. If I had to choose 1, Asmodeus

That really depends on where I live. Here's to hoping that I wasn't born in Nidal or something, because otherwise hello Zon-Kuthon.

Definitely Arshea. Not just for the obvious reasons, but because e defies the usually negative tropes of sex gods.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The two faiths that most resonate with me are Brigh (Who is the God who comes closest that I know of to being pro-science), or a druid of the Green Faith, which embraces my love of nature and animals. The best fit of course would be a god that was pro science and pro nature, but I am not sure such a diety exists.

Alternatively...I would probably just not worship a specific god and do my own thing, since I would just consider them all powered-up outsiders anyway.

Silver Crusade

Several, probably. What's the point of having a pantheon if you only venerate a single deity?

Several different deities have aspects that I would find appealing. Abadar, Caiden, Sarenrae, Nethys, Calistria, Pharasma, and Desna all have portfolios that I would call on from time to time. If I had to pick just one...Aroden, I like an underdog.

Sovereign Court

Probably Andoletta (aka Grandmother Crow).

I am all for being a good person but I can't stand fools.

Like the idea of a god whose doctrine includes whacking fools with a stick.

Shelyn most likely, with respect to Milani too.

I like alchemy and secrets, so Norgorber.

I mean Iomedae. Totally not the other one.

Probably Shelyn, although Torag is a possibility as well, both for many of the same reasons.

Shelyn or Sarenrae, maybe Nethys.

To be completely honest with myself, I would probably be strongly drawn to self-indulgent faiths, such as those of Calistria and Urgathoa. However, that is not the person I want to be.

Irori's teachings are probably closest to my ideal lifestyle, so I would do my best to follow them. I strongly believe that bettering oneself—body and mind—is the key to a truly fulfilling existance.

Brigh all the way, baby. All hail caffeine and super-science.

I've been thinking about this a bit.

I *think* Andoletta would be the ideal one, for a couple of reasons:

She wants to see the good in *everyone*, and is willing to give them a chance until they pass the Moral Event Horizon.

She also kind of reminds me of a now-deceased co-worker of mine who really set me straight when I was young and stupid and who I really miss a lot.

In addition, I've always had a particular fondness for the colors of green and black, crows and ravens, and the fact that she essentially encourages 'Gibbs' slaps to people that deserve it is a selling point, too.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have to say, I'm sorry I mentioned neither Andoletta or Arshea - two of my all-time favorites! (I also seriously heart Lymnieris... and... oh, too many to name, but most of those don't mesh with my current outlook so well.)

That said, I generally chose within the Core 20... but daggum 'dose Empyreal lords... so cool!

2 people marked this as a favorite.

On a good day, probably Brigh.

If (when) I go off the deep end, probably Haagenti.

Calistria.
Not for the revenge thing, I hold grudges but don't seek revenge.

Liberty's Edge

I have always been in awe of the power of Wind and Water, having often lived in islands or by the sea. Gozreh is a perfect fit.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

My shrine would be composed of:
Shelyn, for life is made ever richer with art and beauty.
Cayden Cailean, because adventuring with time-honored friends is one of life's greatest pleasures.
Irori, for strengthening the mind and body can only bring good things.
Gozreh, because revering ones ancient roots allows for better clarity of mind.
Abadar, for paying respect to civilization will bring one success in it.
Pharasma, because death is inevitable, and you might as well appease the one who presides over it.

I work in politics. Many of the causes I believe to be necessary to our long term survival and happiness are in trouble and bluntly, the odds are not looking good unless we have a major revolution in how we think about things.

Golorian is simular in a lot of ways, only with swords and spells. So I hope I would have the courage to follow Milani though it scares the heck out of me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Pretty much Arshea (and posting this as my paladin of Arshea, though I wouldn't be a paladin myself lol)

As for why, well read her entry in Chronicles of the Righteous. Pretty much everything it says there.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm going into Environmental science so I feel a connection to Gozreh and I respect his faith, that in mind I also really like everything about Desna and her adventurous clergy. If I were a character I'd probably be a druid with a lifestyle influenced by the desnan faith. Which to me sounds like a fun character to roleplay

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Between Abadar Torag and Erastil, i appreciate honesty and order and i also care about family and friends so those gods would be the ones i'd feel identified with

I'd worship Gozreh for that touch attack lightning bolt trident spell. Touch attack tridents sounds good to me.

Desna because I enjoy traveling, Cayden because I enjoy drinking. Can I worship two gods?

A NG worshiper of Nethys if i was born there.
Apsu if i would have been transported there from Earth.

I've always been drawn to Pharasma, and with her influence over birth and fate as well as death find her a very comforting figure.

Norgorber also fascinates me, though more as Blackfingers and the Reaper of Reputation. So there may or may not be a mask about the place somewhere >.>

Grand Lodge

Razmir. You can fist-bump Razmir then go crack some heads in his name...

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Ahh... Nocticula. Our Lady in Shadow could use some nice, tender loving. And by nice and tender, I mean pretty much the opposite, but the loving is still there! (Sex and love being very very different in her case of course)

Not the first that thinks she can be redeemed, though I'm not entirely sure she needs to be. I'd be content with her just managing to murder Lamashtu and I, as a competent and helpful, loyal worshipper, would happily dwell within her harem on the Midnight Isles. And go out spying for her. It just sounds fun.
