I'd really love something that resembles Koh the Face-Stealer from Avatar: The Last Airbender, mechanically and aesthetically speaking.

A handful of creatures from the Arcadia thread that could work as winged goblins. Some work better than others; a few levitate or are simply associated with winged creatures.

Canotila = Siouan/Lakota tree-dwelling fairies; brown and tailed; sometimes act as house gods; can become invisible at will; can fly; can be kept in medicine bags

Catsiburere = Macro-Arawakan; three-ft tall evil dwarves with hunchbacks and manes of red hair, clubfeet; vulture wings; human-like hands; white hair and skin; associated with comets

Ehecatotontin/yeyecatl/aires/yehyecatzitzin = Mesoamerican; 1.5 ft tall wind dwarves which served the wind god and distributed wind; long-haired; wear colorful clothing; sometimes associated with Quetzalcoatl; could be made from a piece of shaman’s soul or clay figures; black yeyecatl are evil, yellow yeyecatl are good; evil aires live in ugly places such as ravines, and under damp rocks; dwell in caves with luminous lights; aid saints in bring rain to villages; introduced corn, beans and other major foods to humans; may also produce frost, snow, hail, lightning, and thunder; flooding is a result of aires compete with one another; can only be seen by sorcerers.

Gada’zhe = Siouan-Dhegiha NA; Winged 18 inch tall Cyclops, with large heads and feet; dwell within the hill of spirits; wield weapons

Hekura/Hekula = Yanomamo spirits; serve shamans; appear as 3ft tall glowing, brightly dressed Yanomano represent vital life energies; animists beings associated with different animals, plants, and objects; exist in a invisible realm not normally visible by people; fear dirt and hover above ground; a shaman gains his power by stuffing Hekura into his chest; attracted to beauty; powers of Hekura vary based on what they are associated with. Used to battle between different shamans

Ihasikitse = Caddoan; “Lost Elves”; Winged dwarfish beings, strong stout and nocturnal; formed from dead lost people; dwelt in hollow trees and inhabited bamboo thickets; whirlwind magic

Ikal-hua = Macro-mayan Death god and his children; skinny, ugly, imp-like beings which stood three feet tall and were covered in curly black hair; erect, animal like ears with a long thing toes and fingers; winged feet; cannibals; associated with the air and black winds; dwell in caves and come out at dusk to look for victims; afraid of holy water

InYuarolliq = Alaskan Innuit; foot high humanoids with bird-like feet and owl heads; dwell underground in the tundra

Kacivoreri = Macro-Arawakan; luminous black winged, tailless imps; drip red and yellow glowing globes; feed on blood-sucking insects

Kawas = Hokan; small birdlike humanoids with paw like hands; nocturnal bogeymen; communicate with grunts and lack fire; feed on abandoned children

Uahti/Wax-ti = Macro-Tucanoan; dark, hairy, ugly pot-bellied dwarfish creatures, with no toes; covered in ash; eat humans; associated with Whip-poor-wills, vampire bats, and morpho butterflies; cause echos; dwell in dark, secluded, abandoned buildings; enjoy strangling prey; strike down trees; formed from the spirits of the dead

I like the Catsiburere, Gada'zhe, Hekura/Hekula, Ihasikitse, and Kawas.

I would also like a creature like Koh as well.

I hear that there might be more robots in this Bestiary. But, to be completely honest, I would prefer it if there were more Clockwork Creatures.

There are no robots in this bestiary.

Well, I was misinformed, thank you for giving me the correct information. But, my point still stands, I would like more Clockwork Creatures, maybe not in this bestiary, but just in general.

Well, we don't actually know that for certain (I don't think), but it seems significantly more likely that they've moved robots in general to the Starfinder Bestiary.

I asked Mr. Jacobs if there will be any robots in B6, he said "no". It is unknown if there will be any in the Starfinder Bestiary though I would be very surprised if there wasn't any.

I haven't seen Flying Monkey's yet eligible for familiars.

I find that sad.

Bruch/Brucha link

What I thought (because of misleading info on a mytho-site) to be some iron-quilled famine-spreading porcupine, turned out to be a very nasty insect!

Bruch/Brucha are iron-quilled, iron-winged grasshoppers/locusts that are send to punish those that don't obey some silly religion. In Pathfinder they could be the wrath of the Horseman of Famine.

Can't you see it? These awesome swarms of giant non-flying locusts covered in iron needles stripping a society of all its food in a matter of hours.

I love them.

Since were getting Krampus, how about the Easter Bunny, Frosty, Samhain, The 3 spirits of Christmas, Santa, Caishen, Befana, Father Time, Great Pumpkin, Cupid, May Queen, Snegurochka, etc..

Just thought of one,
Gardinels -Sort of like a mimic, except it can only mimic a house. lures travelers in and digests them. Manly Wade Wellman described it as sort of like a pitcher plant, but not quite.
Secondly, William Hope Hodgson's the Night Land has a plethora of creatures with just a name, mentioning places and things like the Road where the Silent Ones walk. It is a long read but if you take the time to figure out everything that is a creature or place, you might find a very good list of things to populate the Dimension of Dreams with, since the entirety of the novel takes place in a dream, aside from chapter one.
Finally, I am going to agree with someone who posted, I don't know how many pages ago it was, but they said they wanted more masked creatures that weren't outsiders. I have always associated Razmir and Hastur because both feature masks quite prominently in their myth-cycles. Robert W. Chambers mentions creatures like Phantom of Truth and the Pallid Mask

after watching the Moana trailer and noting that the Kakamora that pop up in it are actually from real life Solomon Island folklore, I'll vote for Pathfinder adaptation of them (Although less coconut people and more like the original legends).

Kakamoras would be cool.

I would be fine with coconut people since that a niche that hasn't been done yet.

Coconut Leshies might be better than the Kakamora as a coconut creature.

PC race wishlist:
- A giant descendant humanoid (giant), Large, 0HD, variant for giant (basic), ogre and troll. Come on already, give us a playable Large human-like race which is descendant from giants. Evil giants, like hill giants, have been known to rape their slaves or use them as concubines and good giants, like cliff giants, have been known to procreate with smaller races, 99% through magic. Beside, applying the Large trait to a human would technically bring it to 16 rp... and that's if you keep the regular human traits.
- A draconic humanoid (kobold), Medium, 0HD, yup, you're read correctly; take the kobold's draconic ancestry to its limit :P If you can have a wyvern variant (and even a Medium overweighted goblin variant), pretty sure we can have a bigger kobold.
- A fey-based humanoid, Medium, 0HD, a elven humanoid with nymph, dryad or satyr ancestry. Seems like a missing thing here, because we have celestials, fiends, genies, lycanthropes, hags and vampires, but feys haven't been presented with a descendant PC race so far... aside from dragons and giants as well ;)

Look, IIRC, they'll go very lightly on PC races for B6, but the 4 races mentioned in the summary might not be the only ones presented. Also, you kinda can't have too many races, because the world is BIG :P

Well you will be happy to hear that B6 will have a Fey-based class, Naiads, so that is one thing off your list.

Oh right ^_^

Naiad... sounds like an amalgam between Nereid, Nymph and Dryad...

Classically, they were their own thing.

I am still waiting for a fey touched race like aasimar, tiefling, etc. but fey based with a generic base one and some day several fey specific ancestor based ones. Also draconic blooded and giant blooded races as well.

Oh, I see ;)

Well technically naiads are a type of nymph.

Dragon78 wrote:

And so were dryads, nereids, and for that matter, hamadryads, lampads, maenads, oceanids, and oreads...

Yes and most of those still are in Pathfinder except oreads and maenads.

maenads and oreads are in pathfinder. lampads aren't, but i'm okay with that

Lampad is in bestiary 4, it is the only nymph I really like.

thanks, Nightterror, I forgot about that. the last time I used Bestiary 4 is for when I tricked my brother into opening my infinite bag of holding that held Cthulhu inside it to get vengeance on him for killing my Gnoll player character. that and I skip over the nymph variants and True Dragons when I'm looking through the books.

Do you guys know if they've done any deep sea animals? If not, these would be awesome
1.Anglerfish, they're fish, that fish for other fish, and gulp them down in a flurry of teeth and the male fuses to the female during mating. need i say more

2.Gulper Eels, an eel that can swallow things more than ten times it's size
3.Tube Worms, worms that live in calcified tubes along volcanic ridges
4.Lanternfish, fish, whose eyes act as lanterns
5.Salps, barrel-shaped, planktonic tunicates. It moves by contracting, thus pumping water through its gelatinous body.
6.Sea Pigs, a slug-like creature that vomits its own intestines out at the first sign of a predator
7.Barreleyes, named so because of their barrel-shaped upwards-pointing eyes, which they use to see the silouhettes of potential prey
8.comb jellies, invertebrate animals that live in marine waters worldwide. Their most distinctive feature is the ‘combs’ – groups of cilia which they use for swimming – they are the largest animals that swim by means of cilia.
9.Atolla Jellyfish, It typically has 20 marginal tentacles and one hypertrophied tentacle which is larger than the rest. This species is bioluminescent. When attacked, it will launch a series of flashes, whose function is to draw predators who will be more interested in the attacker than itself. This has earned the animal the nickname "alarm jellyfish".
10.Blobfish, the flesh of the blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. Its relative lack of muscle is not a disadvantage as it primarily swallows edible matter that floats in front of it such as deep-ocean crustaceans.
11.Giant Pyrosomes, Pyrosomes are cylindrical or cone-shaped colonies made up of hundreds to thousands of individuals, known as zooids. Colonies range in size from less than one centimeter to several meters in length.

the last two could bridge the gap between animals and oozes

Gotta love the deep sea. tons of jellyfish stung together(siphonophores), 30cm pillbugs (Giant Isopods) and fish with targeting lasers (dragonfish).

Yes, maenads and oreads are in pathfinder, but they are not nymphs(or fey in general) in Pathfinder. I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

I would like to stats(regular and giant versions) for anglerfish, gulper eels, tube worms, lantern fish, and sea pigs.

I would like to see the Spartolos from Pathfinder Adventure Path #28: The Infernal Syndrome to be stated in a Bestiary. I know that the Udaeus take inspiration from the Spartoi of Greek Mythology, however I don't see why there can't be two types of monster that are inspired by the same creatures. Also, I want them because I really like Undead and they just seem really cool to me.

KaveDweller, I would like to see a lot things from past APs make it into a hardcover bestiary. Also that creature wouldn't be the first time we got more then one creature from the same myth;)

Liberty's Edge

Dire Shrew

terrifying

majestic

Venomous, store 90% of their kills, AND eat significantly more than normal for their size. If shrews were just a little bit larger they'd be up there with weasels for creepiest mammals.

Greetings,
I must again appeal to the Powers that Be in order to ask for the lost Cabal Devil to be properly reunited to their's infernal clan in the bestiaries ...

Also, i would suggest to go further with the lamyros race, possibly expanding the "cursed" aspect with the new occult mechanics.
For example, we could have lamias that are half peacock, and possess mesmerist abilities, or lamias "touched by the outer gods" with lots of horrific abilities, like the permanent displacement effect of a certain panther-like monster we cannot name.

It would be nice to see more types of Lamia.

Would anyone be willing to/have the knowledge to make a list of the Lovecraft creatures that have not been featured in the bestiaries that are not owned by Chaosium?

The interesting thing here, is that Lovecraft in particular didn't actually churn out all THAT many types of discrete "monster." Much of what has entered the canon (via Chaosium's excellent RPGs, the work of later writers, etc.) has been based upon extrapolation from throwaway lines in the works of Lovecraft or other writers. Take Chaosium's version of the Byakhee- it's a creature from August Derleth's work ("The House on Curwen Street"), but its appearance derives from creatures Lovecraft describes but does not name in "The Festival."

Untangling a list could therefore be extremely tricky.

Agreeing with Pnakotus, as the Cabal Devil is one of the very few Outsiders I'd Like to See.

also, I think the Maelstrom needs more biologicals (non Outsider Chaotic-Anything) two great ideas for a maelstrom creature, Schrodinger's Cat and maelstrom-based undead

Maybe one day we will see elementals made of pure alignment energy(good, evil, law, and chaos).

I agree, the maelstrom(and axis) could use some non-outsider based creatures.

The Muirdris from ABookOfCreatures is something I really love to see in Pathfinder.

I love the way ABC drawn it, as some horrid abomination/aberration of the sea, maybe add in some dragon/sea serpent parts too to please the google-crowd.

It's ability would be to deform anything that takes a glance of it, turning their face backwards or doing some other horrid damage to the appearance of onlookers.

I too would like a Muirdris.

I would like a creature that resembles a stork but is actually a magical creature that delivers special or gifted children(aasimar, half-celestial, sorcerer blooded, future oracles, future heroes, etc.). Basically all the stores about storks carrying babies were based on this servant of a higher power. Also I would like evil, law, and chaos variants but all are based on different types of animals.

I think I would like a Tiny or Diminutive fey, humanoid, or monstrous humanoid possessed of immense magically-imbued strength; one approach I've considered would be to give them telekinetic powers such as telekinetic haul and telekinetic blast that only work on things they're physically touching, going the tactile telekinesis route, perhaps with an ability to combine their powers when touching the same thing, adding their HD together to determine how large of an object they can lift.

I also think that a naga or something similar inspired by diplozoon paradoxum would be interesting...an aberration with two of them fused together, perhaps one male and one female, or they could both be hermaphrodites as per nature and thus appear ambiguously gendered to human eyes. Rather than the X-like shape, though, I would rather have the two lower bodies fused together in a spiral pattern with the original scale colors, only splitting apart at the heads, with a lower CR version that's only a single version that has yet to find another to fuse with.

I was also reading about epitoky, and I think it would be interesting if there was an aberration or magical beast version of polychaete worms, with an atoke version that dwells underground, burrowing, acting as an ambush predator like eunice aphroditois (otherwise known as the bobbit worm) which produces (probably?) less powerful but more active flying armor-plated worm creatures (the epitoke version) as per schizogamy that can breed with each other, but have a very limited lifespan. So the atoke version (which I'm imagining might be very long-lived) might probably go unnoticed unless it happened to stake out an area people travel through normally instead of feeding on large animals, but then when it's time for them to produce their epitoke versions, suddenly there might be flying monster worm-like creatures everywhere, eating voraciously and wreaking havoc in the area. Thus, knowledgeable people would know that one or more atoke versions of this monster would need to be hunted down after defeating the epitoke versions, otherwise it will just happen again next year (or perhaps a longer period of time, every five years? ten?), or alternatively there might be reason to assume that there is an atoke version in the vicinity and that it might be breeding season soon, so the adventurers have to try and track them down to avert disaster.

Interesting ideas. There's a bunch of mythical creatures that could fit the role of the first. I used to use Yakshas from Hindu myth for that, but I think the Jetin from French folklore works even better. The real world creatures make interesting inspiration, and I would like to see the concepts you described. I've wanted giant bobbit worms for quite a while.

Jetins could certainly work ;)

A super strong tiny fey would be cool and the Jetin fits the bill.

I keep thinking that a formian would work as well, since ants can lift like 6 times their weight/size. Have a worker or drone used to excavate or hefty carrying and you're good ;)

Unfortunately Fomorians and Firbolg have already been stated up, but I would still like to see a fey that resembles a giant of at least large size. Of course it would be much smarter and have various magical powers.

Also giving the Jetin rock throwing and rock catching as if it was a giant would be awesome.
