UPDATE!!!
As of right now, we have 17 submissions in TOTAL.
We also have 28 days remaining until the end of the Call for Submissions.
We obviously need more submissions to make this issue an actual magazine and not a pamphlet, so distill those ideas into words, and submit by the end of December, OK?
Tim
I just sent in a bestiary entry. I am also working on a side trek seed.

I have a collection of traits, feats, and items for the River Kingdoms would that fall in line with an appropriate article?
Another one I am working on is some alchemy for fertility. Hear me out. If crops and cattle is what makes a King than those things would be a focus for reasources and that always leads to magical ends. I won't get graphic. You say we can "build" on cannon. Can I list a new use for an old spell?

Submitted some feats/traits myself.
You do make a good point. Spells like Plant Growth would be hugely important.

Hey, would there be any point in me sending in a set of cursed River Kingdoms-themed magic items? Alternatively, a set of magic items with at least one cursed item among them? I know that publications tend to have substantially less interest in cursed items, since they're somewhat less readily-applied to games.

Hey, KC. If you can write an interesting article that includes a few such items and provides hooks for how they could be used in a game, then I think it could be a valuable addition. It would be important to provide some insight about how the items became cursed in a way that connects to the River Kingdoms.
No promises, of course, but I, for one, would be interested in seeing what you could come up with.

Was thinking of incorporating a simplified version of the Hell's Rebels rebellion rules into a Realm Building article ("Rivers Run Rebellious") where the rebellion is seen from the kingdom's side. Instead of running the rebellion the rules would be for hunting down and stopping it using Kingdom Building rules. There are supposed to be rebellions in the River Kingdoms as new fiefdoms rise up and fall, so I figured it'd be fitting. Don't really have the time to finish it, so if anyone wants to submit their own version please feel free to.

Considering they usually get three times as many submissions as they can use, I doubt that'll come up. It always hovers at basically five submissions until the last week.
For comparison, at 15 days to deadline on #14, we had 35 submissions, and at 16 days to #13's deadline we had 22 submissions.
But we always sweat it quite a bit as we get closer to deadline.

Actually, I just got an idea for a story, so I'ma go with that.
Ah, River Kingdoms fiction. Just begs for a jazzed up dramatization of someone's Kingmaker session.
My last one involved a goblinoid group attempting to reform the Kingdom of Zog, and the standout character was a goblin fire kineticist named Nurp, who liked to wear fancy dresses (because they made him feel pretty and special) and insist that people call him Princess Nurp, or, later, Queen Nurp.
But it got weird.

OK. Christmas Eve, ONE WEEK LEFT, and we have 30 submissions. Because of the intense pressure by all of you (heh), here is the current tally:
Bestiary: 3
Class: 8 (3 alchemist archetypes, 2 bard/skald, and others)
Crunch: 5.5
Fiction: 4
Fluff/Flavor: 4 (2 gazetteers)
Game: 0
Magic Items: 0.5 (half an article is a magic item)
Poetry/Song: 0
Sidetrek Seed: 1
Weal or Woe: 4
Soooooo...what do we need? Basically, EVERYTHING.
While the Class category is looking good, there seems to be quite a bit of overlap among the entries. Monsters are looking thin. More fluff/flavor, a bit more fiction, as well.
We are lacking in magic items, poems, sidetrek seeds. More Weal or Woe articles wouldn't hurt, so we have a wide selection to choose from.

If you're short, I can always chip in with Weal or Woe contributions. Or even a brief River Kingdoms NPC Codex style of article. Something like an example Daggermark assassin, Gralton noble, Tymon gladiator, Sevenarches hunter, etc.? Maybe even some outside influences like a Razmiran charlatan and Galtan bounty hunter?

Need any Maps ??
If you do maps, then you need to send me a portfolio or examples of your cartography. If it's a good fit for the magazine, then I can add you to the artist roster (since we are talking illustrations).
That goes for ALL interested artists, as well. If you want to illustrate for Wayfinder, please send a link to your online gallery or portfolio. If you are looking for a way catch the attention of publishers, Wayfinder can help.

I never even thought of this. I don't want to step on your toes, but I could easily put something like this together (if that's all right with you; it was your idea, after all).

I've started to put together a collection of summer-themed magic items (inspired by Orthos' summer and winter courts for the Kingmaker AP), but doubt I'll be able to fill a whole 750 words in time.
Would anyone be interested in doing a compilation article (either with more summer-themed items, winter-themed items, or whatever comes to mind)?

If you've got the time and Tim's got the page count/word count to spare, have at it. I've got four stat-blocks slapped together for a handful of the NPCs I proposed above. And I brainstormed a couple more for a Pitax bard and a Mivon duelist, but haven't put the numbers together for them.

This is an interesting idea. I'm wondering what the word count for each NPC is looking like. If this turns out to be an especially lean issue for submissions, we might do a large article (like 4-6 pages/3000 to 4500 words), but not sure how many of these NPCs will fit on 4 pages.
We can see, can't we

I was wondering how wordcount was calculated for statblocks, to be honest - I wasn't sure if wordcount was an accurate representation of their space consumption.
In my head, I imagined an NPC Codex-style one-page-per-NPC structure, which I'm pretty sure is incorrect for Wayfinder.

That is sort of the way a Weal or Woe is structured, one per page, but I'd see an NPC codex article more like our bestiary...entries going back to back, since page space is at a premium. Ideally, it would be better to have 1 NPC per column, 2 per page...but those are low level NPCs. Higher level NPCS take up more like 75-80% of the page.
I would assume a mix of low, mid, and high level characters.
Of course, this is sort of a new type of article, but sort of an offshoot of Weal or Woe...where the NPCs are not adversaries, or related in any way. I'm not entirely positive I like this over the Weal or Woe concept at all....but given the them of the River Kingdoms, having a selection of interesting NPCs from the various kingdoms is kind of fitting, at least for this issue.
