So, I recently found my old GBA cart of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and once again ventured across the land in a deep and engaging story of a small band of elite heroes triumphing over hordes of enemies and leveling up while collecting fabulous treasures and trying to balance a team of well-rounded, but very capable individuals.
And then I stopped and thought "...that sounds an awful lot like Pathfinder."
And the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. And it got me thinking of how well the two might mesh, and so I figured, why not see if anyone else would be in on this.
So... yeah, would you be interested in a Pathfinder/Fire Emblem crossover mash-up thing? Odds are, if I ran something like this, it would probably be set in the Sacred Stones world (it is the one I'm most familiar with), but I'm debating whether I would actually have the characters be FROM Magvel (or wherever I decide to set it). More along the lines of washing ashore after a mysterious storm or being summoned to this world from Golarion itself.
I dunno. None of those musing will mean anything if nobody else is interested.
So would you be?

I'm intrigued. I've been a big fan of the Fire Emblem games since I got the first one that hit the U.S. when I was a kid, and the GBA games still are the ones I was most familiar with. Admittedly, I'm a bigger fan of the Elibe setting/games than Sacred Stones, but I'm up for either.
Would this essentially be a Pathfinder game in a Fire Emblem setting, or would there be use of rules/houserules to make it feel more like the games?

I might be interested, though I am curious, would the rules be effected at all? There are quite a few things in FE that don't translate well into pathfinder, Manakete, Tanguel, etc could just be custom races, so I'm not worried about that, but what about the weapon triangle, would that just be completely ignored in favor of pathfinder rules?
And what about weapon grades, would that and higher grade weapons be widely ignored in favor of magical weapons?
If you're interested in staying more true to the system used in the actual games, this might help.

Good to see there is some interest in this!
To answer some questions:
-Odds are, I would keep the Pathfinder rules and simply give it a Fire Emblem coat of paint (perhaps with one or two minor alterations if needed). Likely, the weapons triangle will be discarded and simply be in favor of the normal PF rules, unless folks would like a little more Fire Emblem in their Pathfinder. Then I'll figure something simple out (thanks for the link, Dylos!) Weapons grades will likely be replaced with magic weapons, etc.
-I have the most fond memories with Sacred Stones as it was my first exposure to the series, so I may be viewing it with some rose-tinted glasses. With a little more research, I could run any other setting. I just picked Magvel because I know it the best.
-I'm still debating how to do experience. Part of me wants to simply have you advance a level with each chapter battle (ie. chapter 1, lvl 1, chapter 2, lvl 2, etc.), but with enough enemies, it wouldn't be hard to keep the pace up.
I'm still tinkering with a few things, but I'd like to know which setting people would prefer and whether you'd prefer more elements of the Emblem series incorporated.

I am curious in this as well. I have heard of Fire Emblem, but never had a chance to play it. What would the story of your campaign would be like? Would it be a simple adventure fare, or something more?
What I'm thinking is essentially taking the players through the main story of a game, but instead of the usual characters, it would just be them helping the main characters (NPC'd by me, obviously) continue with the story, but with the players doing much of the work.
Here's the thing, though: you wouldn't be from the Fire Emblem series, but from the world of Golarion. The idea I'm brewing is that at the beginning of the game story (whichever one ends up being picked), the main character is faced with certain defeat, even though they shouldn't be. This prompts the gods to reach across worlds (or franchises, in this case) and pick a handful of heroes to save the main character, help set things right, and see that the story ends as it should. That handful of heroes are the PCs.
I guess think Fire Emblem's story meets Dragonball Xenoverse. You've been summoned to help ensure the story progresses as it should. This also means I don't have to limit folks in their character creation guidelines, so if you want to play an elf or a dwarf or an orc, it's totally feasible, since you aren't native to this universe.

Hmm. Quite neat. Personally I'd still prefer Elibe, although that's partly nostalgia and partly because I've played FE 6 and 7 the most. As for including FE rules in Pathfinder, I think it could be neat to include more stuff, but it would probably be easier to just roll mostly with PF as it stands. It's pretty representative of fantasy adventure and combat, albeit with a couple of things here and there. The main thing that comes to mind is magic--Fire Emblem's magic system is very different from Vancian spellcasting.

This is very true. I feel as though I'd honestly prefer a game that wasn't as much about the whole "across worlds" thing, but it could be interesting. My PERSONAL favorite game world is Tellius from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn, but Elibe is a fun one too. I think it'd be interesting to do something more homebrew in terms of story, as if you run through the story of the game many are going to know where we're going and why, and what happens there. Also, as it is the game stories have very little room for roleplaying.
I would be welcoming to playing in one of the many worlds, doing something similar, maybe non-canonical involving those characters. If you do end up doing the "transported across worlds" kind of thing, I'll still probably submit. I do agree that PF spellcasting would be very silly for a game like FE.
