The following information, including dates and expected products, is what we currently estimate and may change.

July's New Releases are also our products that will be debuting at Gen Con 2015! As such subscribers attending the show may opt in to pick their subscriptions until July 9th at 10:00am. After this time we are unable to make any alterations to the hold for pick up status of your account. Opt In or change your opt in status by visiting your My Subscription page. If you do not have a subscription and would like to pick up the starting item at Gen Con, please contact customer service immediately after placing your order for the subscription so that we can ensure the product is set properly for subscription pick up. Items in your sidecart that are not your subscription items of July New Releases will not be available for pick up at the show. More details about Gen Con Pick can be found at the end of this post.

The deadline to opt in or change preferences for Gen Con pick up of subscriptions is Thursday, July 9th at 10:00am PST.

Due to previous months' product delays, July is currently estimated to contain some double ups in the following product lines: Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Maps. We understand that this is not ideal for many subscribers and we are truly sorry for the inconvience this may cause.

  • Begin Shipping Estimate:July 13

  • Street Date for Paizo Products: Thursday, July 30th*

*Note this is not our usual Wednesday release as July's release date will be on the first day of Gen Con

For those who are not opting in to Gen Con pick up:
↬If you have anything in your sidecart that is *ready to go* when we run the order spawning process, it will be shipped with this subscription.
↬If you want to add anything to this subscription order, you have until the authorization date to add it to your sidecart. If it is after the authorization date, make sure you choose to ship with the pending order number.
↬If you add an item to a pending subscription order and the added item has a "should ship from warehouse estimate of 4-11 business days or longer, your subscription shipment will wait until that new item(s) arrive before it can be shipped. This may delay your subscription shipment!
↬If you need to make changes to the payment method or shipping address, you can make changes to the subscription until the authorization date, if it is after the authorization date, double check the changes applied to both the pending order and the subscription.

For those who are opting in to Gen Con Pick Up:

The schedule for people choosing to opt in is as follows:

  • Friday, June 19th, 12:00pm PST — Subscribers can opt in to Gen Con 2015 on their My Subscription page.
  • Thursday, July 9th, 10:00am PST — Ability to opt in or change preferences for Gen Con pick up closes.
  • July 9th-15th —Depending on when non-pick up order creation finishes we then create orders for Gen Con pick up. At this time you will be charged for your order and any applicable PDFs will be granted.
  • July 30th- August 2nd — Pick up your subscription items from the Paizo booth in the Exhibitors Hall at Gen Con 2015. We keep enough copies to cover all pending pick up orders until 12pm on Sunday, August 2nd. At that point, if needed to restock any sold out items, we may add any leftover subscription items that have not picked up to the sales floor.
  • August 6th —We create August subscription orders. If you did not pick up your items at Gen Con, we will do our best to include them with your August order, though they may ship separately. You will be refunded sales tax and charged shipping for any items that were not picked up and are being shipped.

Non-Subscription Products Available that can be included with Subscription Pick-Up orders:

Just place the above item you wish to include with your Gen Con subscription pick up order into your sidecart before July 9th and it will be processed with the rest of your July items.

Unfortunately we are not able to include any other items for Gen Con pick up. If you have other items in your sidecart they will wait until the next available subscription to ship.

Shipping & Handling & Sales Tax:
Pick up orders are not charged shipping & handling, but are charged Indiana sales tax (7%).

When do I have to pick up my subscription by?
In order to make sure you are able to get all of your subscription items, we recommend picking up your subscriptions as soon as possible once you get to Gen Con. We will keep reserved copies on hand until 12pm on Sunday, August 2nd at which point we may release reserved copies out to the general sales floor.

What do I need to pick up my subscription items?
Bring your ID, and make sure you know what email address you use for logging into Paizo.com. Printing off your order confirmation email or having it accessible on a smartphone is helpful, but not required.

I can't make it to Gen Con, can my friend, family member, partner, husband/wife pick up my subscriptions?
Subscriptions must be picked up by the account holder. We will not release subscription pick ups to anyone but the subscriber.

If I don't have a subscription for a product line, can I still sign up for one and choose to pick it up at Gen Con?
Yes! Just start the subscription like normal, opt in on your My Subscription page and contact customer.service@paizo.com immediately after subscribing to ensure the starting products are correctly set.

The deadline to opt in or change preferences for Gen Con pick up of subscriptions is Thursday, July 9th at 10:00am PST.

In the campaign setting line, if I'm interested in getting my copy of Hell Unleashed but don't want the Map Folio, is there a way to do that? Normally I take down my subscription every six months for these but I can't when both are in the same month!

For those who do NOT opt in for GenCon pick up, when will the PDFs be available?

I'll be at GenCon but I have no need to have the physical product in my hands that weekend, in fact would rather not have to deal with carrying and transporting extra gear. I would however like to have my PDFs available.

I seem to recall that last year those who did not opt for pickup had to wait until after GenCon to get their PDFs, but my memory isn't what it used to be. :)

PDFs will hit your account where applicable when the label is printed.

Information about shipping labels:

During the subscription shipping we print labels in two ways.
  • Regular Order Shipping: Orders have their packing slips printed and the box is packed and label is generated as the box goes into a bin or pallet to be pick up by mail/package carriers.
  • Bulk Label Printing: We group orders into similar categories of exactly the same items, shipping method, etc and print out labels in batches, put them on pre-built boxes assembly line fashion and add them to the mail/package carrier bins/pallets.
In both cases, the payment is settled and the PDFs are granted when the label is printed.

I apologize for the lack of clarity. What I would like to know is if the PDFs for subscription orders that do not opt for GenCon pickup will be available by GenCon, in order to be used at games at GenCon.

Actually I think the misunderstanding was me not reading it right.

The best answer I can give you is that we estimate to be finished shipping July subscriptions on July 24th, which would mean people getting their subscription via regular shipments should have it by Gen Con. The catch is that Gen Con always seems to throw a tool box full of wrenches in what we plan for subscription shipments for the release month. (I'm feeling pretty good about this year though).

If you were talking most of Thursday and early Friday, then the lines were bad. After that, you could easily walk up and grab your stuff. It was only long lines first thing in the morning and most of Thursday.

Fair point; but when I got there Saturday (late, was a lot of gaming) they were out of several items for my subscription including the Advanced Class Guide which I really wanted. Was very disappointed.

We reserve enough subscription copies for all subscribers who have opted in for subscription pick up in our stock area behind the registers (we did not always do this and learned the hard way). If something isn't out on the floor and you've opt-in, you can get it directly from us when you reach the cash register. We periodically check throughout the show to make sure that we have enough copies kept aside for subscribers who opted in. If you are a subscriber who has opted-in for Gen Con subscription pick up, when you arrive at the register and we look up your account, we get a little pop up that lets us know the subscription items you need. If you've brought the items up we just verify you have everything and process the pick up. If you are missing something or need us to grab all the items then we do that. (We prefer whichever way is easiest for the individual subscriber). If you've got a lot of add on purchases, feel free to skip grabbing all your subscription items so you aren't juggling as much and if you want to pick up your items (some or all) from the sales floor, then you are welcome to do that too.

That is awesome; thank you! That way I can hit the booth later in the con; do some additional shopping, and still get my subscription. I'm going to update my options now.

Would it be at all possible for me to use two separate payment methods for one subscription payment? I'm in a weird place monetarily at the moment.

As you requested, I have cancelled your Campaign Setting subscription.

To answer your first question, for future reference, we cannot set two payment methods to an order. However, you can use one payment method to purchase a gift certificate, apply that to your own account as store credit, and then set your subscriptions to use the store credit. Then the difference would get charged to the card that you have set for the subscriptions.

Opt in for subscription pick up at Gen Con 2015 ends tomorrow, July 9th at 10am PST. I left as much time as possible for people to adjust their settings and customer service cannot make any adjustments to opt in status after that time.

Please remember this is going a bit differently than previous years. Subscribers who have opted in for Gen Con pick up will have their order created and the charge will attempt to settle (not just auth) tomorrow and PDFs will be available one the charge goes through.

So am I reading things wrong or would the quickest way to get the PDF access to be to select for Gencon and then just let it ship next month or am I missing something? Assuming one is not going to the con.

I would not recommend opting in unless you are planning to be at Gen Con and actually pick up your product.

The Gen Con pick up order spawning doesn't get run until after we complete the regular order spawning. Sometimes we finish that in one day (has not happened for several months). Usually the order spawning process goes into Friday and sometimes over the weekend. So while Gen Con subscribers might possibly get it tomorrow, I would probably lay serious money on the Gen Con pick up spawning not happening until Monday (which is also when we start shipping and when regular subscriptions begin getting their PDFs as their orders ship).

So what happened last month with Bigger Basic map not being put into people's sub orders from their sidecart, has happened again with the two Flip-Mat: Classics: Woodlands & Village Square. Balancing the needs of all subscribers, we are going to proceed with the auth/orders spawning and then move those maps from people's sidecarts into their sub order manually. If you have either of those flip mats in your sidecart, expect to see a follow up order confirmation sometime before we begin shipping indicating that your Flip-Mat: Classics: Woodlands and/or Village Square were added.

Ran into an issue and to be safe, we're stopping the auth/order spawn for tonight. Tech team is going to be poking, prodding and fixing a few things tomorrow and will be taking over the process to restart it based on when they are ready.

My order hasn't spawned yet, when is the spawning scheduled to end for regular (non-Gen-Con) subscribers?

It's in the sidecart I just need to see the light go from red to yellow. :)
