New bit of gameplay footage. I dunno. Voice acting sounded kinda cardboard to me, and the dialogue had two many "the"s in it. BioWare, please don't fail us...

In the words of YouTube me: "Eeeh. Platforming was kinda weird, and was it just me, or was the voice acting kind of cardboard? They seem to be recycling a plot so old in videogames that nobody remembers where it originally came from anymore, as well. Still, we didn't get a lot of context.... but for whatever reason, the game still really reminded me of all the FPSes that Bungie has produced."

I'm not that impressed with their 4K graphics. If that's 4K I have PC games that look better than that and aren't 4K. The faces look almost like they did on the original Mass Effect games...aka...not that much of an upgrade in the graphics they have on the faces there.
They don't look that much more realistic than they did on Mass Effect.
In otherwords, why do I need a PS4 or a more powerful PC to run this game if the graphics aren't going to be all that much greater than they were for ME3?
At least from what I've seen of it thus far.

I have a theory! It's a demon! A dancing demon, no, something isn't right there...
According to the alignment of the stars and the ancient prophecies of Atlantis, one day, when the galaxies are right, all other voice actors shall merge with Nolan North for those who are men, and Jennifer Hale for those who are women.

Oh man, I have such mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, more Jennifer Hale is always better. (I have surprisingly few feelings either way on Nolan North.) On the other hand, there are a lot of other actors whose voices I would be sad to see subsumed into the hive. At least Jennifer Hale can probably do flawless imitations of them anyway.

I have such mixed feelings about this whole thing, come to think about it. I found the acting/dialogue pretty stiff too, and the whole setting seemed just...generically videogame-y, which is disappointing.
Also why was there only one non-human? Grrrr. (And what was she wearing? Seriously?)
On the other hand, I still can't help getting excited about more Mass Effect aaaaaaah.

Ugh. Kill me before this happens. Jennifer Hale is pretty good but Nolan North is the epitome of the "Boring White Bread" voice. I groan anytime I hear him in anything at this point.

Something just occurred to me: after watching the E3 2016 video for the umpteenth time, I noticed that FemRyder's single line, "We made it," managed to convey so much more emotion than all of the Pro's tech demo video combined. I'm betting that Andromeda will continue the series trend of the female protagonist's voice acting being far above most everybody else's, including the male protagonist.

If any of your have voice acting chops, now is the time to show them off. BioWare is asking for fans to voice two minor characters. On the one hand, awesome! On the other, that confirms my suspicions that the VA division is severely underfunded currently.

*excited aspiring voice actor screech*
This actually isn't the first time they've found a VA through the fandom, incidentally; apparently Josephine's actress in DA:I got noticed by Bioware through her Isabela cosplay.

Actually, Dungeons and Dragons online (DDO) had a fabulous GM voice actor for the first half of its life. They allowed Gary and Dave to do guest moderations that were a lot of fun. They couldn't hold a candle to the pro though. I also recall a very active member of the community was able to lend her voice to a quest series. She was actually pretty good if I can recall correctly.

Money, and that worries me even more for the game being worthwhile.

HOW THE HELL DID RED BULL GET AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BIOWARE
red bull has been a part of gaming for a long time now. From the gta days I think. They also did something with some stand up street fighter tournaments a while back. They are involved with a surprising amount of geekery.

I forget where it is now but there is one spot in the three games where the dance emote actually shows Shepard busting some moves. But all the other times it's the Shepard Shuffle.
My memory is a bit foggy, so this might not be right, but I think the scene you're talking about is when you're hunting the Ardat Yakshi on Omega in ME2. You can sidle up to someone in the club and be all like "I'm not asking you to dance with me, but I'm gonna dance right here and you can pretend we're dancing together if you want." At which point, Secret Agent Shepard throws down some moves nobody knew he had =P
