Okay, game I made up long, long ago on the WotC boards back in the 3.0-3.5 era, figured it might be fun to play here again.
Take a well known character or item, figure out how to build them in Pathfinder, post the general idea of the build up, and see if people can figure out what character/specific item you were building.
Example:
This Mounted Fury Barbarian wields an adamantine bastard sword that, on command word activation, casts Transformation on him and his mount, a Dire Tiger.
Answer: He-Man
Remember, its not about making intentionally difficult riddles out of the game, but you can provide nothing beyond how it is actually built in game mechanics.
---
I'll kick us off.
This Bladebound Magus's black blade takes the form of a lawful good longsword, and he wears both a Mirrored Mithril Buckler and a Spiked Gauntlet on the other hand. He makes frequent use of the Teleport Blade ability, and seems to cast Deadey's Arrow at least once per adventure.

Re-read, feel stupid. This from one of yer ani-mays?

All the Avengers combined into one hero (mostly Cap America and Hawkeye)?
Oddman80 |
This feline headed Rakshasa noble boy seems to have been affected by an aging spell - giving him the body of a full adult well before he has matured mentally.
He has Maxed his physical stats at the expense of his mental ones, though he is putting all his leveling stat bumps into increasing wisdom and charisma.
He is a vengeful hunter archetypes fighter - opting only for light armor he inherited an intelligent Adamantine Bastard Sword with the following abilities:
His ultimate foe is a high level neutral evil undead Lich sorcerer who uses a mixture of anthropomorphized awakened animals as his minions
Oddman80 |
ok - that is hilarious! I had no clue you were describing Lion O as well. I was thrown off by the spiked guantlet and mirrored buckler. I had totally forgotten about his Claw Shield! LOL.
I had considered the magus when i described him - but decided not to because the ability to cast on his own (not just through spellstrike) seemed like it would be a distraction. I can't believe i just happened to come up with the same character.... maybe your post subconsciously planted the seeds inside my brain
Now - onto Arbane's
Is this the cast of Angel?

Is this the cast of Angel?
Not Angel - wrong medium.
Another one:
Human Lich Gunslinger, LG.
Human Lich Fighter, LG.
Human Lich Fighter, CN.
Human Lich Alchemist with Timestop as an at-will power, N.
(All have some other at-will abilities)
Human Commoner, NG.
(Bit of a spoiler, if you haven't seen the series.)
RoboPorthos |
Aight, Human Paladin 3 Gunslinger 2 with some ranks in use magic device to use the totally o.p. staff he got from his 10th level Witch friend(?). Typically uses a rapier as his primary weapon and doesn't usually wear armor. High strength, dex, con and wisdom. Always seems to come back to the same part of the world.

An epic-level Neutral Good Vampire who's trying to wipe out her own kind, and a Human Assassin whose Death Attack works on anything that is physically capable of dying.
I'm pretty sure this one is Arcueid Brunestud and Shiki Tohno from Tsukihime.
Human Lich Gunslinger, LG.
Human Lich Fighter, LG.
Human Lich Fighter, CN.
Human Lich Alchemist with Timestop as an at-will power, N.
(All have some other at-will abilities)
Human Commoner, NG.
The cast of Madoka Magica. In order:
Mami Tomoe
Sayaka Miki
Kyoko Sakura
Homura Akemi
Madoka Kaname
This is a fun game :)

This is an incredibly powerful Sorcerer or Blade Adept Arcanist with Mythic Tiers. For a time he carried a powerful artifact sword made of crystal that amplified his magic before discovering it could be turned against him.
His magic makes him literally more insane the more he uses it.
He typically uses Sunbeam(He gets a lot of flak for using it as it's way more dangerous in this series), Firestorm, and teleports A LOT. He's very good at counterspelling as well.
He is also probably one of the best examples of 9th Level Casters in fantasy.
He also loses an arm.
kamenhero25 |
Oh, I have one of my own.
A NG Elf/Half-Elf (not sure) Fighter who uses a sword and shield. He likes to collect a lot of magic items from dungeon crawling, but which ones he gets varies from adventure to adventure.
- Almost always gets a bow with lots of magical arrows and a Holy Longsword.
- Has the Mute flaw.
- Usually has to fight an evil sorcerer to rescue a princess
- Own a warhorse and has some Mounted Combat feats.

Wheel of time, Rand? I forget the name of the main character (I haven't read them in forever, but I should re read them now that the series is done).

Arbane the Terrible |
(Probably easy)
A Human Cleric,
A Orc Fighter,
An Undine Rogue,
And the biggest multiclass munchkin the Vanara species has ever produced.
(Hopefully harder)
An epic-level Sorceress who's engaged in a battle of wits with a low-level Human Aristocrat who has a small advantage.
(A classic)
A Ranger/Bard and a Rogue/Wizard. Rather a famous team, back in the day...

Lets go for an anime one:
This Synthesist Summoner started with a Medium sized bipedal eidolon and a habit of casting Create Pit using a focus of a gold drillbit that he wears as a necklace. As he leveled, he spent as many evolutions as possible to create an ever larger eidolon, surpassing even Colossal. He later multiclassed into Bard in order to Inspire Courage through Speechcraft after getting the rest of his party to multiclass into Synthesist Summoner as well.

The main character of Gurren Lagann, Simon.
Here's one:
A LE Human Strategist Cavalier fighting an equally LE empire in a cyberpunk setting. Made a deal with a mythic witch to gain the ability to use Dominate Person once per person on any target he can actively see.
EDIT: Most of his followers are CG and don't realize he's LE.

Petty Alchemy RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 16 |
This human barbarian has some Profession (Bartender) ranks, he still wears the outfit despite his new employment.
His weapons of choice are nearly always oversized improvised weapons.
His main triggers include people talking about brother (positive OR negative) and his smug snake rival from high school.
His best friend who he sometimes adventures with is an immortal headless fae.

correct.
Yours was Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser.

Drat, I wanted to do Shizuo and Celty! (From Durarara, for you non-anime-fans.)
These shouldn't be too hard...
"All three of you are playing wizards?"
"All four of you are playing Swashbucklers? I know it's a no-magic game, but still."
"OH COME ON! All fourteen of you can't play fighters! Someone play a Rogue, at least! (Thank heavens they've got an NPC to babysit them...)"

Harry Potter, The Three Musketeers, and The Hobbit.
Some more easy ones:
This Dhampir Trapper Ranger has placed all of his favored enemy bonuses into Undead.
This Empiricist Investigator is a genius, able to solve almost any mystery via observation and deduction, while using those skills of observation to enhance his stick-fighting.
This wizard has a ring as a bonded item, always casts conjuration or evocation spells, and all spells cast have a green hue.
Third Mind |
This sorcerer shows skill in evocation and teleportation before meeting a ragtag bunch of fighters who had invested in leadership to gain simple minded cohorts that follow them around on foot.
Hopefully not too difficult.
I shall answer my own with this LINK!

Not sure, need to think about it. edit: Green Lantern?
