What kind of archetypes do you think / want there will / to be for the new classes

Occult Adventures Playtest General Discussion

Liberty's Edge

The occult playtest introduced a bunch of really cool classes for the occult adventures book. Now I wonder what kind of options/archetypes they will introduce for these classes. Some I can already imagine, but others I wonder about what kind of things you would do with the classes.

From vital energy kineticists to dark spirit spiritualists, there are huge amounts of potential for cool, exicting variations of these classes. What do you think, leave comments and ideas below.

I'm pretty excited about the potential for a mesmerist archetype. Possibly one that focuses more on illusions or one that plays up the hypnotism/enchantment angle?

Grand Lodge

A raging kineticist would be fun......

an auto-hypnosis fakir-like archetype for the mesmerist.

Maybe a summonor style archtype-- calling forth eidilons from the id. bonus points if you name yourself Krell.

I'd love mesmers that focused on certain styles.
Illusion mesmer, who also has a lot more attack abilities based out of the shadow subschool... Classic kind of illusion or not... and attack when they aren't looking with shadows sorta thing.. Maybe Hardlight illusion abilities that either increases DC, or allows you to aplly PainfulStare damage buffs to things as arider effect ...somehow..

granted i really hope mesmers gain more magic spells, and more damaging one. maybe even a few shadow subschool made specifically for them to do hp damage and then access to some stat damaing like they have (but I also want mesmers to be opposite of bards.. Bards are bufff and melee, i'd lovem esmers to be debuffs and casters). I'd love "illusion spears" sorta stuff.

A mesmer who gives up their tricks in order to gain debuff tricks that they put on to targets of their stare (perhaps in exchange for tricks and painful stare)

Spiritualist who focuses on touch and their spirit loses the abilty to become phsysical in exchange for upping their ability to be touch specialists somehow.. Push up that "ghostly guardian" deal.

Occultists who lose genreal casting in exchanged for specific short list of spells, chosen or one who gains an ability to convert spells into extra Oomph for abilities in some way.. I honestly haven o clue how to work that though.. but I love a purely magic item based character, which you can already do pretty much but I'm sure theres an awesome way to make it better..

Kineticist who focuses more on pnching (Better than the current talent thingy allows)
Kin who focuses on "kamehameha"waves at a price of something else... duno what. Maybe penalties for attacking close ranged things..
Kin Blade who loses long range blasts in exchange for one big super slice close range, better than the current ability (preference on the one big hit due to anime tropes of mine).

A psychic "vampire" archetype. I'm not sure how to do it but it would be pretty awesome

NON specific to these classes archetypes..

I'd love a psychic Alchemist who changes up infusions for psychically empowering alchmical itesm and creating them out of ectoplasm. It would be a neat way to make alchemical item user that (a very small) some people wanted.. and could make some unique changes to ideas. Plus, it'd be cool to play something similar to an alchemist but using fully sketched out rules

Some sorta psychic gunner would be neat also. Not sure which class fits the best..

granted I would likely rarely get to play a game where it's valid

In the Occult preview topic someone mentioned Shaman King when talking about the Spiritalist which got me thinking of a archetype kinda like the Syntesist summoner archetype where the spirit would enter your character would power them up like maybe giving them better combat abilities.

No one else? Well I thought of another idea maybe some time of Druid like Mesmerist where they gain an animal companion and have more abilities to influence animals

No one else?

as in no one responsded to your post, or as in no one else is posting ideas?

I thin kgenerally everyone stopped because the book is long finished. I suppose one could hope for stuff in future books. but since they closed down these threats from the main area the only folks who come here are generally talking about ideas in the class threads.

Plus theres only about 14? 16? people around i think.

They better have a martial artist focused kineticist. =)
