Non-Charisma based Leadership

Advice

So I have this idea kicking around that requires a character to use leadership but Charisma isn't going to be his strong suit.

Is there a way to use another stat in place of Charisma for your leadership score?

Just find other ways to boost his leadership, be generous and that stuff, score or buy a magic headband that will put a little extra + on his personallity.

Well pretty core to the concept is actually using Leadership to get a ton of minions, not just for the single higher level cohort. So ideally I'd want as high a leadership score as possible and using Wisdom would just be cool.

Don't forget the situational modifiers for various ways of treating followers -- the better he is to them, the more followers he can have.

Might Makes Right feat. I believe it can be found in Races of Faerun. It adds Str mod. To Leadership.

Sorry, its for a Pathfinder campaign, we as a group frown on non-Pathfinder/non-Dream Scarred Press material.

Well, stop frowning then. You're missing out on a lot of stuff.

Its just a fact of life that people with powerful personalities become leaders. Its alright though. Your level and other modifier will outweight a mediocre Charisma modifer.

There is a 3rd party product for Pathfinder (Leadership Handbook or a similar title) that has five feats that let you substitute another ability score for Leadership in place of charisma. If your DM lets that in, you are covered at the cost of an extra feat. If you are limited to Paizo and Dreamscareed Press, you are most likely out of luck.

Battle Herald adds bonuses to Leadership. It's a very good class for a "commander"-type character. You can get to it easily by multiclassing an Exemplar Brawler with a Cavalier.

A Level 10 Battle Herald effectively adds +14 to a Leadership Score (10 Character Levels, plus 4 from Inspiring Command).

Leadership is 'A' game mechanic way of attracting followers, but it is not the only way to get someone to work for you. If you don't have the sweet mouth to attract them for free, you'll just have to hire help. GP is far more powerful than Charisma.

Update: After a lot of searching I wasn't able to find a way of accomplishing it.

Paizo released the Instructor Archetype for the Wizard class, I think it's pretty awesome.

Because cohorts are most interested in the instructor's magical ability, the instructor uses his Intelligence modifier, rather than Charisma, to determine his Leadership score.
