And I was right all the time. Theodum was pacing up and down. He had founded his own lodge because he had been convinced that the Emerald Spire really existed.
He had been laughed about, people called him crazy, people didn't believe him. Still - he was sure what he had unearthed in old tomes in the Grand Lodge - even when the Decemvirate and other Venture Captains ignored him.
But his own status of newly appointed Venture Captain - and a small fortune that he had amassed during his advanturing time - had allowed him to go ahead and just form his own lodge - the lodge that was named in honor of the Emerald Spire - the Emerald Lodge.
It had been hard work work to convince others to join him - hard work to ensure a place close to where Theodum thought the Emerald Spire would be in this new plane in the River Kingdoms.
But all research had seem futile. Not a sign at all of the Emerald Lodge was to be found anywhere. He had resigned that he might have to wait - wait until he had more manpower and could dig down where he assumed the Spire had to be.
And then the towers had appeared - towers powered by strange emeralds. It had been a sign - a sign that he had been right from the start.
And then Lito reported he had seen the Spire - a monumental fortress made out of light.
Others would not have believed Lito - but Theodum had send out Thod to check it out. And now he was back - with detailed sketches and the proof - the Emerald Spire existed after all.
Thod hadn't found an entrance yet - at least not an entrance he had been able to get in. But that would be just a matter of time. After all - such a place was likely warded by powerful magic.
But Theodum was convinced he had founded the Emerald Lodge at the right place after all.
Emerald Lodge as seen by Thod
Now there was just one more step to do - keep it a secret. After all - you didn't wanted to have hordes of other adventurers scouting the Emerald Spire first.
Keeping it a secret. A very important step, Theodum. :)
A very nice discovery.
Three miles high and glowing green like an emerald! And it hums, a diabolical noise can be heard for a mile!. The swamp trapper's expression is half mad. He pokes his pipe at the gathered around Hammerfall's town square bonfire. A dark half elf in the crowd slips into the shadows of the night and heads Northwest.

Actually it was my son who told me 2 days ago that he had spotted it and he might have been the first?
This is the first time I was going there. But it is difficult to miss - you can see it from anywhere in the same hex as it is
a) huge
b) on a hill
I assume it was added as part of build 11.
Awesome. Now that's a landmark, even if you can't go inside yet. Thanks for posting pictures.

Congratulations, Thod, Theodum, Snorter, Lito, and all of the Emerald Lodge! You had a very specific reason for your site-pick, you stuck with it for all 10 weeks, and you now get to see the beginnings of the pay-off :-).
Happy to have a future event to kill monsters in this hex. You find lots of hellhounds and Moloch cultist there. Personally no other monster group has killed me as often as the cultist/hellhound combo with their fire.
Added 2 more photos - now the early morning sun reflecting in the Spire
It is very ummmhhh ... green :D
awesome - I love Easter Eggs.

Oh, that's not an Easter Egg. That there spire is a core feature. And a death trap.
Lisa decided that the very first thing that a party should encounter is well-prepared goblins with a massive tactical advantage. Groups with sufficiently poor preparation will never even see the goblins that kill them.

Mike and I cooked this up a week or so ago. We though that we needed to have SOMETHING there, so Dave worked with Mike to cook this up. Glad someone finally noticed!

Do you get a text message or something when you name gets used on the forums?

I don't see anything that looks like an egg? Lol.

So, I wanted to see just how far away this rendered in game:
HERE YOU GO!
I was standing in Golgotha, and I could see the Spire, at night, so freaking awesome.
I heard about this in a song once...
Yeah, watching it burst through the horizon is pretty impressive. I swear I felt like Dorothy.
