Favorite Game Food?

Gamer Life General Discussion

So, as per any good tradition, may tables tend to have a "traditional table food" when game night happens.

The question is, what is your traditional food?

Me? If the game is happening in my apartment, Its Hot Pockets, Monsters, Mountain Dew, and Baileys (for those of age -.-... 1 more year!!!)

Sovereign Court

Homebrew and bourbon mostly. On occasion we get pizza or chinese food.

Watermelon. Our group is crazy for watermelon.

I'm trying to encourage healthy snacking at our table, as two of our players have had diabetes since childhood, so I bring a lot of fruits and vegetables.

If I'm being naughty, Lays Sour Cream and Onion chips.

lulz, I do a lot of exercise (Swim, Gymnastics, fencing, and martial arts) and I have the metabolism of 3 people... so I am good xD

Homemade queso dip (preferably made with both beef and chorizo) is our go-to, but we've also had cabbage and noodles, cake, queso mac, build them yourself tacos, and salads.

Oh, and one night I made my personal favourite, Cincinnati chili with gluten free spaghetti.

Souls of my players and their tears as a drink!

What? I am a GM!

Beer -- it's liquid bread!

The last time I gamed in-person with my players, I think our resident cook made lasagna.

Sadly since I do all my gaming via the internet nowadays, and the resident cook lives on the other side of the country, not so much an option. So gaming food is whatever I happen to fix for myself or have on-hand when game time rolls around.

We really try not to eat too much during games though, as it can already be somewhat difficult to understand one another just thanks to microphones and Skype issues.

Beef jerky. Its adventurer food.

Rum. (for my Skull & Shackles game)

It used to be a bag of chips, some soda, and then order a pizza. But lately I've been on a diet and so far I've lost 30 lbs (10 more to go, I got this!) so my snack of choice has had to change. It has lately become Skinny Pop white cheddar popcorn because I can eat a lot without feeling too bad about it, and either some kind of flavoring for water or some soda that is of the zero calorie (not diet) variety. Whenever the group orders or goes out for food I go to steak and shake. I'm on weight watchers plus and out of my 43 pts per day a steakburger no mayo is 6 points! I can order fries and not feel bad.

lol its ok xD.

I just like to mess with texans :P

We tend to order out; Amir, or some Pizza.

Whatever the people bring for themselves. It tends to be the same for most of them, though sometimes they stop at a fast food place on the way. One guy always brings hickory smoked peanuts in the shell for me, so I can always rely on that.. lol.

We only occasionally order a pizza. I have to really, really watch my budget so I'm seldom able pitch in, nor do I mooch off them. I usually eat before the game and snack on the peanuts throughout.

Liberty's Edge

I try to bring food for everyone, my gran bakes lots, but everyone at the table has food already, that doesn't stop me from offering! Note to self:mail cal four boxes of homeade sweets

The Exchange

Usually for us, some kind of snack for table time (chips, popcorn, jerky, etc) with a generous amount of soda or tea depending on what people bring.

Post game though? Lasagna, Baked Ziti, Porkchops and mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. A nice full meal. Gotta be a good host right?

Bring it on. ;)

Haven't lived there for almost twelve years now and no plans to return, but still consider myself one.

How does brownies, gelatnous cubes with little bones and swords inside, cookies and cake sound mr.cal?

They sound wonderful! LOL

It tends to vary, but I always enjoy a glass of wine early in the evening, and coffee later on. Beer works too and might be preferred with chips-and-candies type of snacks.

Everybody knows Pizza is a gamer's Lembas...
