First character is already made and been through one session. DM let us rebuild from the play-test material. Concept-wise a wandering swordmaster sort with a katana. He was originally built as a swashbuckler with slashing grace (which got a huge buff with the release) and is now a Daring Champion archetype cavalier. Panache, cool sword ability, challenge, and awesome teamwork capabilities? Sign me up! He's been a blast to play so far.

Grabbing it at GenCon, along with the Technology Guide and picking up my subscription... also likely succumbing to several impulse purchases.
And just in time to start character prep for Shattered Star, so I'm sure some new classes will be showing up there.
Cheers!

I've got $10 in store credit burning a hole in my account, and come Thursday I know just what to do with it!
I have the same amount of credit and am doing the same as well. I will also be purchasing the Hero Lab add-on for it as I can use that for a swift look at what is going on with the character before I write it all out in a character sheet.

So, with ACG just around the bend the question is perfectly clear:
What character will you make first?
And as a follow up:
What kind of potential do you see in the classes?
Sadly the GMs I play with hate this book and will not allow it's use in game. Having read the beta materials they both agree the book is over the top and a major power creep (i.e. base classes now worthless).
I disagree but experience tells me it's pointless to argue.

I've been playing a Shoanti Warpriest of Gorum in PFS using the playtest document for the last few months. He's level 6 now, and he's been an absolute blast. I know Warpriests are getting nerfed a bit, but I always thought he was a bit over-powered anyways. I haven't chosen my 6th level feat, yet, either, so hopefully there's a combat feat in there that fits him.
I also have an Ifrit Swashbuckler that's been fun. She's 1xp shy of level 3, and I have plans to make her a Shadowdancer starting at level 6.

Cancel my subscription to Paizo products and operate under the belief that they stopped publishing new material after December 2013.
It's been a bad year for balance and this is just really the eject button for purchases.DrDew |

I will buy the pdf on Friday and I will read through all of the archetypes. Then I will probably create a Slayer built around throwing weapons (probably daggers but maybe axes). I've been putting off a thrown weapon build while I wait for this book. The wait is agonizing because the Slayer looks like the class that I always wanted to play. The perfect combination of ranger and rogue. No spells and no favored enemy with sneak attack and a full BAB!

I will populate my Crazy Character Emporium with new content!
I already have an Arcanist, Bloodrager, Brawler, Ecclesitheurge (cleric archetype), and Hunter.

I will buy it.
Arcanist will be the first on my list of classes to check out. Then likely more the feats and other crunch.
Most of the other classes weren't that compelling to me - I often thought that will all the feats available to a player, you could craft your concept character from one of the base classes (or subsequent classes).
Still looking forward to it, though.

I'm not terribly interested at this point. I can't really find a niche for the vast majority of the classes at this point. I'm curious to see what archetypes and other options the ACG adds for base classes, but I've no interest in any of the new classes. Well, maybe a little for brawler, but only inasmuch as I'd have preferred its flexible feat mechanic to have been available to characters in general instead of restricted to whatever a brawler is supposed to be. Plus, during the playtest, a lot of the new classes were almost strictly superior to the existing classes, and that's just plain bad design whether or not you're into class balance.
That's not to say that it wouldn't be fun to play one of the new classes--I could play a brawler or even a slayer (9_9) and have a lot of fun. But I can already do that, and the new stuff just doesn't add anything to the experience for me.
