Like maybe... Building a rocket or fighting a mummy or climbing up the Eiffel Tower. Discovering something that doesn't exist or giving a monkey a shower. Surfing tidal waves, creating nanobots, or locating Frankenstein's brain. Finding a dodo bird, painting a continent, or driving your sister insane!

Know what you mean OP. Best thing is to take your mind off a game that is hyper-anticipation - completely.
I've recently been reading a lot of books all of a sudden and gone somewhere else mentally therefore. Just finished The Dumas Club, which I got in a second hand bookshop and absolutely loved even if it was delicately balanced between frustration and elevation.
Alternatively this thread has some alternative game suggestions including some I made earlier: Here
But in the above condition I'd give all games a big break if possible and do something else, entirely: Films, sports, board-games, festivals... you name it. We have a butterfly count going on here where I live so also doing that in my spare time and even today did a bit of fossil hunting!
Be inventive. :)

As you can see there is a whole lot of stuff to do before PFO starts this fall. So stick with us 'cause Vali and the Haggarssons are gonna do it all. So stick with us 'cause Vali and the Haggarssons are gonna do it all!

I'm having a real hard time playing other games too because they're not sandbox MMO's. I've checked out all of them out there and not into any of them, just want PFO. I will look into all the games listed though. Maybe find something that can keep my mind occupied for more than 15 minutes. I'm going on vacation in 11 days (for a week), at a much needed time! I hope when I return I have an EA invite in my email (I wish!)

As much as I agree with the OP, and find games I used to play (mainly theme parks) just unpalatable anymore, everything I spend time on for PFO leading up to EE is quite enough to keep me busy. I have been doing some play-by-post things and some pre-launch writing about how Hobs gets to the the River Kingdoms...it's been sufficient to scratch the PFO itch.

Other than working, painting, and writing Volume II of Modulus, I been making do (and have spent too much on) MechWarrior Online. When I need something with a little story to it I go back to LotRO.
Totally gave up on ESO. The first 50 levels might have been made for me, but after that... not so much.

I particularly enjoy reading Pathfinder Tales.

You can of course, read the PF-RPG material for lore porpuse, it's even a great way to enter in the game warmed. Or even write some RPG adventures, in River Kingdoms.
Hmm I do have some PF P&P stuff sitting on the shelf I haven't read for a few years. May be worth a look. Weren't we supposed to be getting a printed adventure dungeon crawl co-written by Keith Baker (I loved his Eberron material, even though I don't play D&D anymore)? Sorry I haven't kept up with a whole lot on how or when the rewards are given out.

Different thread, same answer: Paradox games. Crusader Kings II, Europa Universalis IV, Victoria II, Hearts of Iron III...all superb--nay, sublime and unparalleled--time-stealers.
I'm leading a new kind of Reconquista : Taking out muz' from Andalusia, to give it back to the actual Vandals !

I don't think we'll have access to Zog until Thursday evening.
Sorry I didn't stream more over the weekend; my wife and I were playing Pathfinder Adventure Card Game—Rise of the Runelords Base Set which is still too new and too fun to put away for long. What time we did spend playing PFO was mostly devoted to gathering and trying to figure out some of the clues to what to expect in each hex. I had stayed up way too late playing the card game, and I didn't feel up to narrating enough to keep my stream from being nothing bot monotonous gathering with long stretches of nothing as I took notes.
I'll be streaming again the next time the Alpha's up. And I'm very hopeful some of the persistence bugs will be fixed enough to really get into the crafting side of things. Thanks for the interest :)

I have recently discovered Shadowrun Returns, loving that. I have also just started playing Titan Fall, and that is loads of fun without having to dedicate much to it.
Shadowrun Returns is really fun (specially on a tablet). Another good one I discovered recently is Divine: Original Sin. It's a really dense game and you can interact a lot with the environment. I recommend both.
