Apparently, we are now having gas shortages.
Ye gods! I am glad this week is finally over. There's only so much battering and bruising my poor body can take.
Today was a good example of why Monday is hated. At least the usual pain in my shoulder is being overwhelmed by the pain in my back.
On the positive side, however.....
The day went by very quickly.
My new steel-toe shoes are very comfortable. Memory foam makes all the difference.
The left-over beer can chicken was delicious.
I may or may not be in the dog house (so to speak) with my bosses at work. They released a schedule of site visits through the end of October, along with who's going where, and my name is suspiciously absent.
So much for them wanting the guy they hired as technical manager to get some experience on the site visits the machines I manage are actually used on.
Then again, this is just a paycheck to me. So I guess I'll keep bleeding money out of them until something better comes along.
Rented Wonder Woman On Demand last night. It was pretty decent. That chick playing Diana is smoking hot.
Sad to hear of the passing of Hugh Hefner. He was a great man.

Also, my son is apparently terrified of Oompa Loompas. This will, of course, make disciplining him a little easier, since I can sing Oompa Loompa songs.
A-zombie,
I'm terrified of the one that's currently running the executive branch...

Why, yes, baby back ribs. I do plan on firing up the old smoker today.....just for you.
Here's hoping Tuesday is better.
Trailer for the new Pacific Rim movie looks pretty f!!#ing sweet.
Ouch! Stoopid middle age pain.
Mmmmmm.......beer can chicken.

Also, I apparently have a "mad face". According to my baby girl, at least. Although, I gotta say, when she shows it to me, I keep thinking it's more like a "Gilbert Godfried Face".
Finally got around to watching Train to Busan yesterday. Great movie, but a dick move by the writers at the end.

The other night, my baby girl woke me up because she had a nightmare about....something. It's hard to say, since we were both half asleep and her ability to explain can be...random.
Anyway, I told her it was just a dream, and that next time she should dream me into the dream so I could "beat up" whatever/whomever was bothering her.
I've rarely seen such a big smile on her face as she went back to sleep.
My boy gets his Bobcat badge at the Cub Scout pack meeting tonight. And the weekend after Halloween he shall be introduced to camping.
He's very excited for both.

I have decided I'm going to dress as a Black Lantern for Halloween. All I need is a long-sleeved black shirt, some zombie gloves, and a zombie mask.
I've already got the Black Lantern t-shirt and ring.
You should go as Black Lantern Deacon Blackfire. :)

Looks like I'm going to be Black Lantern Batman. When I was in Party City yesterday, I found a skull mask that only covers the lower half of the face. When combined with the Batman mask that covers the upper half....
Still think BL Deacon Blackfire would be cool...
Got some much-needed purchasing done for the boy's upcoming introduction to camping, via Cub Scouts. It also helped me stay away from the house while the cleaning ladies were doing their thing.
In other news, I have learned the new Five Guys is now open for business. This is awesome.
Now I know what I'm having for lunch at least one day next week.
Season two of Stranger Things has been entertaining so far. I might try and finish it up tonight.
Now it's time to get ready to go over to the church for Trunk-or-Treat.
Halloween was a partial bust. There was rain, so the kids didn't go Trick-or-Treating. There were those, however, who chose to brave the rain, and so I thankfully got to hand out gobs of candy.
And....Campout Weekend is finally here!!! Later today, I shall pick up the boy early from school and we'll head to Mission Tejas State Park for his first ever Cub Scout camping trip. Should be fun.
Also, congrats to the Houston Astros on their World Series victory. It was an entertaining series, with two really good teams. Of course, the better team won....
Stoopid ground hornets. Other than the swarm attack, the campout went great.
I am glad to hear that your campout went well. OTOH I will have to talk to my ninja attack hornets about their swarming method.
Mayhap I shall go see the Thor movie tomorrow. I need something to occupy part of the day.

So far, I'm of the opinion this will be my first and last turn as a den leader for cub scouts. I seriously dislike being responsible for other peoples snot-nosed beasts.
One of my old co-workers messaged me on FB to let me know that next week the company is making an announcement about who is replacing my old supervisor. I think I succeeded in feigning interest. Ultimately, however....not my circus, not my monkeys.
From my standpoint, if the company were to go belly-up tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a single tear.

R.I.P. Malcolm Young. Thanks for the music.
Happy Tuesday, my friends!
Those few still here, anyway.
So, here we are, in Louisiana for Thanksgiving. The area is experiencing (what is for this place) a bit of a cold snap: highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s. Now, thanks in part to this shift in temps, my boy has a cold.
Stoopid winter. Why ya gotta ruin things for decent people?
At least Granny is getting plenty of time with her most awesome grandkids.
And I picked up a new book. It's called Drinking with the Saints: The Sinner's Guide to a Holy Happy Hour". It's actually got some interesting info.
And the boy got a Saint George medal. He's the Patron Saint of the Boy Scouts of America.
There is good food here. I've had my momma's red beans and rice two days in a row.
I don't particularly like coming here this time of year, however. It reminds me all too keenly that my father is gone.
Not to mention, I miss my DVR.
