Has Garble played through "Pallid Plague," Kyle? Considering how the first kingdom of Zog was effectively wiped up by disease, there might be an opportunity there for some character advancement.
No, but that would be fun. Now he's got Murgmo (his personal physician), so I'm sure disease won't be an issue...

Sure, a gnome with the Fey bloodline is fairly run-of-the-mill. But a multiclass with monk? And the levels ALTERNATE? What is this madness?!
The Sorcerous Strike feat lets me channel Laughing Touch through unarmed strikes, so it works out somewhat. The favored class bonus lets me get more of them/day, so hooray!
Laughter is truly the best medication. It's like a sleeping pill!

I think people got a kick out of my gnome adopted qlippoth-spawn tiefling slayer at my Friday night game, he follows Cayden Cailean and works as an operative for the Bellflower Network.
Sadly there aren't many miniatures for qlippoth-spawn tieflings trying to pass as over-sized gnomes (yet) in the pathfinder line.

wow all these are so cool, lol the out of the four (five if counting d&d) i can think of only one that may have been wierd he was a custom race (basically a fox on two legs) with a pair of large guantlets (dm also let me make my own weapon that was actually fair weapons) he was a undead hater and lied about who he was all the time faking to be a famous undead hunter oh yeah he also pushed a ship mast ontop of a fire elemental lol
the d&d character was a bard who only wanted to slay a dragon, and got slapped unconius by said dragon by charging the dragon lol

Or if you are a clone, at least you have a surrogate birth mother you were implanted into, so at least you have that going for you. :)

When I play Drystan, I just say he's a dwarven explorer if asked. He wears normal adventurer clothes. He finds traps, he disarms them. He has plenty of skills. He carries an axe and a cross bow. Then combat happens, and suddenly he's throwing out color sprays and minor images and whatnot. People give me weird looks at that point.
He's a dwarf Wildblooded Seeker Sorcerer (Empyreal Bloodline). Wisdom for casting and perception, he has rogue's trap spotting combined with stonecunning, and detect magic on top of it. Makes for quite the strong trap-monkey without sacrificing versatility in and out of combat.
I honestly expected more raised eyebrows for my tail-wagging, cloven hoofed horned tiefling paladin of Iomedae. So far received none.
Amazingly, the most raised eyebrows I got were on my vanilla human paladin (who's a sadistic, boorish, uneducated street thug which reluctantly follows the paladin code cause he's been told he'd end up in hell otherwise). I get raised eyebrows on creative ideas (like skinning the captive and wearing his flayed skin as disguise) that come from unexpected source.

That's because everybody and their mom made a character like that as soon as The Year of the Demon started.

Hey, my feet are normal. Aaand I've been with the society since all that Lissala business started. I have noticed this trend too though. It's wonderful that so many of my brethren are defying the darkness in their hearts. I am utterly shocked though at how many of these tieflings were found in the wilds, abandoned by fey...there must be a breeding ground out there run by an alliance of fiends and fey. How...uncivilized. This may warrant aggressive investigation.

My parents were clerics of Sheyln. They taught me to find the beauty within....even if sometimes I want to rip it into little pieces and take it's spine out with my teeth...I uhhmm...try to see the beauty in everything.

How many of you have characters that get funny looks based on the things I mentioned in the title?
This is NOT a place to come and make fun of character concepts.
I'm merely curious what ideas people have that are probably viewed as out of the norm in society play.
For example, one of my characters is a Paladin of Shelyn who loves performing with wind instruments. I have recieved plenty of funny looks at first, but it doesn't change anything. What about the rest of you?
I got some raised eyebrows for a Neutral Warpriest of Urgathoa. But in a "that's funny" kinda way. What's even funnier is that's the character I play with my wife's Desna worshiping character.

My Dhampir Cleric of Pharasma has the Seperatist Archetype and the Undead Domain. Honestly it makes a ton of sense to me, but that particular combination definitely raised some eyebrows.

I get looks just for playing the Spellscar mystery of Oracle. He's super amazing at finding and disabling traps and and casts dispel magic at effective caster level 12 (he's level 7), and dispels anything ongoing at caster level 14. There's not much else he does besides those two things and lay down buffs for people.
I mean, I took the seeker archetype for a reason...because like half the revelations are banned for Spellscar. But again, people give me looks when I say that mystery.

I always get funny looks at the end of each adventure after my cleric of Calistria who goes through the entire adventure exchanging sex for information and charming NPC’s into visiting the nearest brothel to help her brethren’s businesses. In fact does not have skill in a certain profession. But why should she, she’s not doing a certain deed for her own wealth; all money made in this way is donated to the church to help sex workers everywhere.

I also get funny looks when my Jadwiga witch; Lt. Orlov, explains she is in the Taldor faction and she works for the Taldorian secret police, and I further explain she was thrown out of Irissia due to refusing to eat children. If people want more details I tell them I have some recipes they never want to know about such as Children Noodle Soup.

Irrisen is the country that is ruled by Baba Yaga's daughters (the Jadwigan, named after her oldest daughter Jadwiga). Consider Irrisen the land of Slavic Fairy Tales. Iobaria is also rather Russian.
Galt is the land of the French Revolution, but I'm not sure if that's what you're asking about there.

Jadwigas are actually ethnically Russian(slavic? ugric?) since they are direct descendants of the transdimensional traveler Baba Yaga.
So, in season 6 it might be possible to play a bear-riding Russian sorcerer/gunslinger with a laser pistol. Who was adopted by fey and shares a bloodline with eldritch horrors from beyond the stars.

I remember when I played The Stolen Heir we interacted with some peeps with French-sounding names, but don't remember what country they were from. Well now I have a bard with a ridiculously French name, so I was going to make her from that country. flat sounds right.
That would be Galt, land of the perpetual French Revolution.

Sweet, thanks. I guess I need to come up with a russian name now. I really liked Salhaira Moussida, though. It was an anglicanization of a couple of arabic words that related to the class. I don't remember which words now, of course (curse my terrible memory), but they really fit!
I have a halfling from Qadira whose name is Qassir, which is the Arabic word for "short".

I don't know how weird this is, but I have a True Neutral Gnome Cleric of Zyphus. He was raised in a swamp by hags, learned the ways of Death (Psychopomp) and Plant (Decay). He grew bored of the swamp and traveled the world, where he discovered Zyphus. He is against using his powers for healing. He is a gravedigger in Absalom, as well as a traveling mortician, Pathfinder, and loyal disciple of Zyphus. He is kind of an old fart (he is old, but surprisingly active). He is also an alchoholic, he is fascinated by undead anatomy, and he hates fey.

I'm glad to see so many Besmaran's in here. I too have a Besmaran cleric/inquisitor that I've always loved playing. He's a noncombatant at heart, although he approves of the spectacle of violence. He carries a large jolly roger with him everywhere, and is fond of unveiling it in combat as a means of inspiring his allies to greater heights.
I tend to get the most interesting looks when I'm playing my urban barbarian/white-haired witch/rogue natural attacker. Although some of that is probably due to the fact that she's a short, green mute who worships Lamashtu and tends to tear her opponent's apart with a combination of claw, tooth, and exceptionally mobile hair. I tend to put her under the orders of another player at the table and have her act something akin to an attack dog on a verbal leash.
Second to that, is definitely my fighter. When I tell people I'm playing a human slinger, they get a little worried about how well I'll be able to contribute. He's never had any problems helping out, and he has to need to use a blade to stop his opponent.

My Venture Captain has told me more than once that ALL of my characters are odd. But my favorite to date is an exile from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords who is a wizard, and gladly proclaims so in battle... While laying all about himself with a +1 keen falchion (Barbarian-1/Wizard-5/Eldritch Knight-1 with CON 18).
MY favorite is the Halfling Cavalier who worships Asmodeus and has proffesion "Slaver"

I got a few raised eyebrows for my Half-Orc barbarian who was a follower of Lamashtu and a member of the Sczarni faction. In one fight against some mongrelmen I had him refuse to engage in combat and just tried to demoralize them instead.
