Hello all!

Blood Dragon here of Hammerfist Clan. We are currently conducting internal discussion of the merits of joining into this venture that is the Roseblood Accord. It appears there are a number of communities here with goals and outlooks in similar alignment with our very own, and we are certainly interested in reaching out to these communities to establish positive dialogue and possible future cooperative measures.

Well wishes to one and all.

Respectfully,

BD

We're very glad to hear it. Any guild with a serious commitment to Honor and Integrity would be most welcome. I especially appreciate your focus on Fairplay, and the reminder that "it's another person you're fighting, not just an NPC".

If you have any questions feel free to PM me or simply ask them here. I imagine you'll get answers from each Member that may differ in specifics, but all share a very clear principle :)

All Hail Brothers and Sisters of the Roseblood Accord:

I extend my gracious thank you to bigmancheatle of TEO for the warm welcome and invitation to the Roseblood Accord and its exclusive membership.

I am Qyck Majere, leader of Golarion Liberators, and I humbly thank you for your considerations. In that many of the tenets of the Accord fit well within our play style, I feel our guild would accept such a charter spot within the Accord. It will be something worth discussion. I shall let you know the Liberators' decision soon.

I also welcome the opportunity for development of alliances with the Accord's membership through and beyond EE for trade, training, protection, and eventual growth in the River Kingdoms.

For now, I bid thee all well in my absence, for I shall soon return.

Qyck Majere

Are we to the point where the list of non-signers is shorter than the signers yet?

Goblin Squad Member

Naw, we have maybe 1/4 of the population? Maybe?

How many signers actually have settlements this week? Did we lose a signer settlement?

Goblin Squad Member

The only group that lost their Settlement was the Green Mountain Militia, and I'm not sure I remember hearing anyone had talked to them.

Oh...ummm...hopefully I can run into Darcness in TS sometime, I do not want to duplicate efforts.

What is the Roseblood Accord, really? It's the acknowledgement that even though games like EVE and Darkfall were monumental steps in the right direction of online gaming, Pathfinder Online has to be better than that. In order for PFO to be better, we can't play it the same way EVE is played.

Positive gameplay. The definition of that cannot be transported from other games.

Says you

Goblin Squad Member

sigh.

if you honestly think publicly agreeing to this doesn't hold mutual obligations of some sort, then you should rethink your actions friend.

A very obvious, basic one, would be if a company of griefers start targeting members of the Roseblood Accord. The other members would have to do something about it to protect each other. Sure, it will be done because we are a good community, but that doesn't change that the fact that you are all Roseblood Accord members plays a factor in the mental decision process. 1% of a reason is still part of a reason.

And this is probably the easiest, simplest way in which everyone agrees and it all works out nicely. There are many more.

If somebody takes it upon themselves to grief RA members, obviously I'm going to help out. I'd help out whether Magistry was in the RA or not in the case of targeted, organized griefing. But even in that case, it's the griefers MAKING it about the RA. Likewise, if someone decided to declare war on all RA members, obviously I'd be sucked into that...because of the decision of the people declaring war, and their decision to include me. Not because of any inherent obligation that anyone agreed to (which are none).

If Pkers started targeting characters whose names began with "T" I'd be inclined to do something about it too. Not sure that means there are "unspoken obligations" that I have by being named Toombstone.

Out! Out with your heresy! Get thee behind me!

The fact that some Members will feel a personal obligation does not warrant saying all Members have that obligation.

What purpose is served by your insistence otherwise?

To push buttons. See what happens. ;)

I believe that BrotherZael is practicing a very specific form of fishing there. Can't remember the name though. Probably should just ignore him though, fishing is generally a sport done alone to get away from people.

Goblin Squad Member

I would note that, in fact, we all have unspoken mutual obligations, whether in the RA or not. UNC, Pax, Thod, Ozem's Vigil...all likewise have the same mutual obligation if we are to believe the words we all say toward making PFO the game we want it to be. This is no secret or scary thing. Any Society generally functions in this way--we all Act in certain ways due to Beliefs we hold, filtered through Societal pressures. Some people are aware of these factors and how they play into their actions, while others simply react and move on. In this regard, Bringslite likely has the most right of it--Brother Zael is poking at the seams to see where they might burst.

Well i tried logging in, but seems to not like the server info I put in.

Anyone want to send me the info?

As I said, obligations of some sort. Not everyone will have the same obligation, and it won't be defined always by company/settlement/nation. A possibility some seem to forget is civil war, an especially high risk for us, it would seem, since we all need more than one differing company to make settlements worthwhile on a grand scheme, and this brings all sorts of trouble with it in the realms of possibility, if not probability. As for why I "pick the seams" here, it is not so I can see things burst, though in my earlier life it would have been. No, I have a very specific goal here and I will continue to "fish" as you say, and do whatever else besides, until I can confirm what I seek and relay that information to my allies.

(I also want to remind everyone that this is being done IC, I don't actually dislike the Roseblood Accord, so if people are concerned I am just spreading hate, relax friends.)

Goblin Squad Member

I'm glad to read of Kabal's inclusion, welcome.

I don't think anyone's "forgetting" it. Very early on, The Seventh Veil wrestled with the likelihood that we were going to be (or already were) infiltrated by saboteurs. We're as aware of the likelihood of saboteurs in the Roseblood Accord, and will address them largely the same way.

It's actually pretty easy to remember you're always in-character :)

My IC name will be one of the first listed on the physical representation of the Roseblood Accord.

"some" friend, "some". also, name-dropping saboteurs or just happy occurrence. Alas, TSV isn't the only one in the Roseblood Accord. Or maybe this is for the better?

Haha, thank you I try ;)

Grand Lodge

You're right, they aren't the only one in the RA.

So is the Keepers, and Talonguard, etc.

Besides, you can't sabotage an ideal, all you can do is fight it... and good luck if you're trying to do that.

Nice getting to meet you last night on the teamspeak, Sunnfire. Wish your group the best in the land rush.

I feel like this is probably the best place to notify the most interested members of the community.

I will be travelling for a couple weeks starting tomorrow. Driving from Florida to Ohio, staying a week or so, and then back. I may pop in now and then, but I will be very sparse and may not answer PMs immediately unless they appear to be time-sensitive and I see them on time.

I shall be back around regularly in the first week of July.

Safe travels, Lifedragn

@Carbon

You misunderstand me. But this is fine, I was weary when making the point (12 hours shoveling, throwing, and breaking concrete and metal does that to ya). In short, I was only further expressing my concern about the unintended consequences that the Roseblood Accord will bring. So long as you don't oppress peoples of any alignment, creed, race, status, etc. and don't use the Roseblood accord as a vessel for tyranny I will have no reason to fight any of you. And since it would seem all of you have very opinionated responses against such actions, I doubt we shall ever need fight on such a grandiose scale.

I think you're right to err on the side of caution, and the view of skepticism is quite understandable.

I suppose one of the strength/weaknesses of the RA is in part due to it's vagueness. I don't personally see how it could be used as a weapon of harassment, or discrimination- The vessel of Tyranny as you say. The only way I could ever imagine that happening is if someone Amended the RA to have any kind of enforcement or collective authority.

If it gets tainted with unjust actions, or tyranny, let me assure you I will be among the first to publicly burn my own copy the document in protest.
