I am thinking about running a Rise of the Rune Lord's game and am looking for 4-6 players. I am thinking of incorporating mythic rules into the game.

I have the big anniversary book, if anyone would be willing to help me out with maps since I dont have the pdf that is a plus.

I would like to see your submissions with background and the trait that will give you the mythic tiers. A background is very important.

I would also like to a 25 pt buy. Races need to be justified except for CORE.

NO EVIL.

I should decide by mid week next week.

You need to be able to post several times a day and I do enjoy roleplaying.

Bouna Fortuna!

Megekki here got to the 2nd room of the 2nd place in a RoRL that failed.

He was a 12-pt buy, I'll build him for 25, if his odd build is acceptable.

Envoy's Alliance

just dotting for interest.

Scarab Sages

Hello I am available, I haven't played ROTRL but can help with the maps. I would would like to run a caster - preferably a Tiefling witch (Ag'mira) otherwise a cleric or sorcerer (whatever is needed). No problem to post several times a day.

I will work up background and look at the ROTRL players guide for inspiration on Mythic trait.

I am interested. I tend to post as much as the other players post. As for a character, it depends on if you would allow skinwalkers, a race of shapshifters paizo released a few months ago. Link here.

My character would be a wizard going down the Archmage line, focusing on the nice shapeshifting abilities found there.

dotting -- need to adjust character to the point buy and tweak background for RoTRL (currently specc'ed for Serpents).

By trait for mythic, are you implying we should choose a trait from the WotW book? Those are the only traits that I know that are coupled to a mythic path, but those don't plug into RotRL...

Dotting for either a halfling rogue or a sylph wizard. Was in a Homebrew game that made it out of the first module of the anniversary edition then the DM quit. Looking forward to running it again.

If a catfolk invulnerable rager is ok, I would like to play this. I need to make adjustments based on mythic. I also need to put his background together.

I'm definitely interested. I played it in 3.5 but haven't had the chance to play it using pathfinder's ruleset. Where do you stand on 3rd party stuff? I would like to play a machinesmith, but if you're going straight core, I would probably roll "paladin" of Irori I've been hankering to run (technically he would end up being a mostly bard who dipped oracle of lore and paladin).

@ vrog no 3rd party
@ Talathel, no traits from WOtR but for the campaign Rise of the Rune Lords. It looks like I copied and pasted from another thread I started and didnt edit as well as I thought.

We would be starting at 1st level.

Would you accept a kobold ranger? If yes, Trax'ir would like to join. I need to up his build, since he is 15 point-buy right now, and give him a background for RotRL.

Question 1: What materials are allowed? I'd love to use 'Kobolds of Golarion', since otherwise there is very little love for the wannabe-dragons :)

Question 2: How many traits are allowed? The usual two, one of them a campaign trait?

Okies.

Edit: actually realized that we would prolly need another tank, once I took a look at what everyone else is playing. Would you let me play a Warpriest?

I have that book and think they are neat! I dont have a problem with them and I am very interested in your background.

1. Paizo only ergo that book would be allowed.

2. You are correct.

I would love to see your background. Remember to justify why he would be in Varisia.

Need to tinker with Calin but he was my intended RORL charector. I think he is 20 pt buy.

Purrin wrote:

I look forward to it.

I'm still a touch confused -- are you incorporating mythic into this or is that a cut & paste error? If you're adding mythic in, what do you want regarding mythic from us now? Our planned path? Backstory that adds the "hint/promise" of mythic? Or just "mythic might happen later, don't worry about it now"?

Calin Moonbreeze wrote:

Ok. Is his background there?

Ok, I got Purrin as far along as I can without knowing if I need any specific adjustments. I have a background on him and one of the RotRL traits. Let me know if he needs any more adjustments.

I want to possibly do it later, The backstory that has the hint would be nice.

Thanks, I'll rework the backstory later today (and double check the point buy... he's been everything from 15-25, just not sure what I left him at)

Working on a character right now, and wanted to make sure it's okay: Can I play a Warpriest (it's one of the classes from the Advanced Class Guide playtest).

Do you have a link for reference for the class, Vrog?

Here.

Can you copy and paste the relevant sections in here so that I don't have to open files (I am at work)? Who would he worship?

Dotting. I'll get you something by the end of the weekend.

sure can, and I was thinking Gorum.

I'll post it into a google doc and link it here.

@ Vrog and Sixteenbiticon ok

here is the class posted in a doc. I cut out all the blessings except the ones I was going to take.

Ok, here is Zrax'ir updated with the new rules. I included a little bit of information from the Player's Guide for the old RotRL, since the new one lacks any real information about Sandpoint - I hope that is ok? I also included a heroic moment in Zrax'irs past to maybe justify a mythic ascension.

Background:

Origin
Zrax'ir hails from the Sanos Forest, where his tribe lived on the borders to the Malgorian Mountains. Here, they survived as hunters rather than living in caves and tunnels, as the common image of kobolds suggest. From time to time they clashed with gnomes, who build several secretive communitites within Sanos Forest, but it never developed into a full-blown war.

One day, Zrax'ir was still a youngster, a huge chimera came down from the Malgorian Mountains. The kobolds knew that dangerous beasts lived far up the rocks, but never before had they seen a chimera. What goaded the beast to come down into the forest, the kobolds never learned. The chimera slaughtered many hunters, and burned their huts with its breath attacks. At first, Zrax'ir escaped by hiding in the undergrowth, but when he saw his home going down in flames, anger filled his heart. With ruthless determination, Zrax'ir stood up and fired volley after volley towards the horrible beast.

His arrows were too small to seriously wound the chimera, but after several hits the beast stopped the rampage to find this unknown attacker. When its three heads turned around, Zrax'ir didn't flinch. He expected to die, but he wouldn't run or hide anymore. And so they stared at each other, a kobold and a chimera, one holding a tiny bow, the other holding the bloody remains of the tribe's hunters. Then, without warning or explanation, the chimera rose up in the air, and left. Zrax'ir doesn't know to this day how long he stood there, watching the creature vanishing between the trees, while the fire consumed his village.

Only a handful kobolds survived that day, and after burning their dead, they left the area. Apparently, the great dragon Apsu, The Waybringer, didn't protect their home anymore. Despite his young age, Zrax'ir was now considered a heroic leader, and he lead his kin south, close to the Yondabakari River, far away from the deathly mountains.

But something in Zrax'ir had changed. While his fellow kobolds erected new huts, found new hunting grounds, and traded with the settlements of Nybor and Wartle, he felt like something far bigger was waiting for him. Restless, he wandered the forest, not satisfied anymore by this way of living. One day, he left.

Sandpoint
Following the Yondabakari River, Zrax'ir found his way to the Lost Coast. During this time, he found out what it was like to live as an outsider among the bigger races. Not everyone trusted a kobold, and more than once he had to leave a town, or a boat, due to racial prejudice. But it wasn't all bad, and often Zrax'ir could impress other people with his skills as a hunter.

When the river ended in the Varisian Golf, Zrax'ir turned north. Since he had never seen the sea before, this journey was most impressive to him. When he heard of the Sandpoint Devil, a local legend, he turned his steps towards the small town. The people of Sandpoint were surprisingly friendly, after Zrax'ir convinved Sheriff Hemlock of his intentions. Indeed, for a few days the small kobold became a small attraction in the 'Rusty Dragon Inn', where he would sit on a table and tell of his journey.

Right now, Zrax'ir is looking for some background information on this 'Sandpoint Devil'. A farmer named Grump claims to have seen it, but Zrax'ir had a hard time finding concrete clues so far. He hopes that something will surface within the next few days, otherwise he will try tracking it all by himself.

Personality
Zrax'ir is a dedicated hunter, and he has no patience for distractions or foolish jokes when hiking in the wilderness. He loves stalking prey, or to wander in lush forests, but he doesn't actively hate having company. When he is with others, Zrax'ir likes to do something productive like making a fire or preparing a hunting trap. He listens with interest when a good story is told, since he lacks the talent to make a tale entertaining himself.

He hopes to find out one day why the chimera left him alive. Zrax'ir knows that he doesn't have the knowledge or the strength to face such a beast in the open, which is why he seeks to improve his skills constantly. With Apsu's guidance, he will become a hunter of great renown one day.

Posting Davor Elan, basic crunch done, just need background and traits.

Human Fighter(archer)

Dotting. I've got an inquisitor that would need minor tweaking under this profile. Or I've been thinking of whipping up a Varisian sorcerer going into the Harrower PrC. Not sure which path...

Bleh.

Not one orc, not one warg, dragon, or even a scary hag. Nothing. I'm on the look out for nothing.

As much as Kast wants to be a soldier, he admits that standing guard isn't his favorite. After a few hours, his left leg begins to throb. After a couple more hours, his leg would actively ache and Kast would be gritting his teeth just to walk around.

Not that Kast would complain...he volunteered for this. It was an honor and a privilege to serve in the militia. And unlike some, Kast knows there is more to this world than life inside Sandpoint: there are wonders and dangers outside these walls and Kast was determined to go find them and see them.

Luckily, Kast's shift was almost over and soon he could go to enjoy some salmon and maybe some mead.

While waiting for his replacement, Kast feels that he can safely say that his patrol between the junkyard and the lighthouse are completely and utterly safe.

I heard that Ameiko has some nice buttered ham instead of the salmon. I hope it's still warm when I get there. In the meantime, maybe I'll make just one more tour of my charge.

Kast patrols again, using his longspear has a walking stick, his shield strapped to his back. ::pace, limp, pace, limp::

Greetings Shalafi2412--

Allow me to introduce you to Kast, a long term resident of Sandpoint, scholar, and wannabe soldier. He is an earnest fellow but with very big dreams: he no longer wishes to help teach at the academy, but longs for something more, something grander: he wants to be a soldier.

As such, he volunteers for the Sandpoint militia in his free time, hoping to learn more about the ways of soldiers and war. He knows he'll be leaving Sandpoint at some future time. He knows he has the potential to be a great hero...he just knows it.

Sadly, his family and friends, don't see the same thing. They see him for his limp, his twisted left leg, a bunchy mess of knots that makes him clumsy and slow on the battlefield. They try (gently) to keep him grounded and focused on 'safe' things, like teaching...fearing what the wild would do to a lame human.

Kast isn't going to listen to them.

About me: I'm am a long time PbPer and love the roleplay. If you have any questions about me, Kast, or my style, please let me know.

-Painlord

I'll be putting together a character tonight to apply with, but wanted to stop in real quick and give a recommendation. Painlord is an absolute blast to game with. Had the pleasure of gaming with him and several other amazing players a while back on these boards, and Wren, his wizard, had me in stitches more times than I can count.

As for myself, I'm hoping to play an arcane caster of some sort, with a strong desire to run an Arcanist (I'll copy and paste the class from the playtest info in a PM to you) that eventually tries for Arcane Trickster (via levels in Ninja if that's cool. I'm happy to go Rogue if you have issues with Ninja, I just think they work as a mystic type stealth guy).

Might be able to help with maps. I'm going to be running RotRl via roll20 in a few months (if that's an issue let me know and I'll resign my application) so I'm in the process of digging up maps. Also, I own an PDF of the anniversary edition, so worse case I can send you jpegs of the maps pulled from the PDF. Would that suffice for help with the maps or is there more you were looking for?

I'm looking to put in an application. I'm wondering, though, whether the classes from the Advanced Class Guide playtest were allowable or not?

If so, was thinking either a slayer, swashbuckler, or warpriest. If not...well, I'll have to think up something good.

May I present to you: Velmora - Human Fighter.

Extensive Background/Stats are in the profile. The homepage is my character sheet via Google Docs if you have access.

Okay, as for the person at the keyboard:
I'm retired (yay) and living on the US West Coast. I am currently in 2 online campaigns where people post 1 or 2 times a day, which frankly is incredibly slow. I post in both usually 3-4 times a day, and basically I could post more but I'm always waiting for the others. If you would like to message my GMs as references, I'm happy to provide them as they will tell you I post in character and often. I wouldn't apply unless I was sure I could commit to at least 3 posts a day.

As for my posting style, I prefer that if it doesn't happen in character, then it just doesn't happen. So, I try to roleplay the character based upon who he or she is. I never roleplay the silent/tough type because they are frankly annoying, especially for a PbP game.

My primary disqualification is that I've never played a "mythic" game before. I've read the PRD on Mythic Adventures, but the mythic game is a bit new to me. I've made Velmora's background such that she dreams that her father might be someone of mythic quality, but it's a mystery to her.

Thanks in advance for considering this character.

I got it thank you.

I have to admit I am not great at the maps thing so if that player who helps me and put the pogs and the maps on it, that would be a great help.

hmm...that might be a little more than I'm able to keep up with, being responsible for moving all the pieces on the map, but I have one idea that might make it possible. I'll get back to you as soon as I can on it, hopefully tomorrow, but it'll require me getting friends on facebook to check something out for me...so the sooner someone there gets back with me the sooner I can get back with you.

Also, regarding character, unless you're willing to allow the trait from the Mummy AP in this I'll be starting as a rogue. Ninja not having access to trapfinding is to big of a deal breaker.
