so out of curiosity, is there going to be a point in the voting when the obviously not top 32, ( leaving like 128 or so items) to be voted on so that the top ones get to be seen and voted on by most people, or is there no such "culling of the weak"?

I thought I'd gone back in time and burned all copies of that book. Give it here!

Player: How important is it that this requirement be fulfilled? I mean, just an ordinary amount of importance? Or something more?
GM: Ha! Did you think I would say it would be of less than ordinary importance? No way. It is extraordinarily important.

Just found the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol item.
Curiously enough, the same thing had already been submitted (and rejected) last year.

I'm getting bummed out on voting.
I seem to have so many instances of two items I don't like and difficulty in determining which is better between two bad ones.

Anyone else having this?

From what I've seen/heard, it's fairly likely that they'll do a culling after the first week. Probably the bottom 25%.

What if the item relies on a celestial body that does not exist in relation to whatever body your character happens to be on at the time?

Grrrrr...

How do you feel about the gender of the pronoun changing mid-paragraph?

It really depends on two factors.

1. Was it my item? (I'll look as soon as I post this)
2. Does the item change the wearer's gender? (If so, it is fine with me).

Well, well, well... hello item with mythic options. Sehr interesant!

I'm trying to be positive, but I've seen, in succession, someone's attempt to excerpt their version of Game of Thrones in the item's description and someone's "clever" attempt to call out an infomercial.

1. I don't know, and if I did, I wouldn't tell you.

2. No. The generic wearer in the items description starts off as "he" and ends up "she" by the end of the paragraph.

I have to say, even though plenty of these entries have terrible errors, I am impressed with the creativity of almost all of the entries. It's like we're all getting a glimpse of what people do with the Pathfinder system around their own gaming tables.

I hope that the people who don't make it past the first round don't give up on designing things for Pathfinder or any other RPGs. With a bit of fine tuning on the item write ups, it could easily become a hard task of picking 32 finalists from many more hundreds of creative, Superstar quality contestants.

Anyway, that's what's on my mind as I vote on these items.

At first, I thought it was a joke item. But after I stopped to think about it, I fount it is actually a pretty neat little item for investigation and for dealing with summoned outsiders. It should allow a saving throw, however.

And it has the lowest wordcount I've seen so far.

Well, that one's ripped right out of Greek mythology, but I voted for it anyway.

Sigh...some people just don't understand the concept of wondrous items. There is a FEAT called Craft Wondrous Item. If I take that feat, I can MAKE as many copies of your item as I like, as long as I fulfill the CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS you put right there in the bottom.

So why do you spend the majority of your words telling me about that super-special, mythical location that is the ONLY place on Golarion where I can find you item?

*sigh*

Well, that isn't something poeple came up with on their own. Lots of modules use wondrous items as a poor man's artifacts, especially during lower levels, but they tend to forget that the penalty for not having a spell or other special ability is something you can get around.

Oh my! This item has a formatting error, but if my GM awarded it in a treasure, I'd laugh with delight and fight the rest of my party for it. And it's so simple! Sixty-something very effective words. Bravo.
