Also, Diablo.
I need what kind of stuff to create this? After searching the PRD up and down I tried Google, and I didn't find the results amusing or reassuring. Not at all.

Why exactly this item is an wondrous item instead of regular potion?
Another opportinity to spend 1,850,000 gp.....
Some artifacts cost less you know

Should probably go on my lunch break to eat rather than voting for items... why is this soo much more fun than eating?!?

these items feel like the post cull bunch from last year. This year is so much better! I think voting has been a helpful tool for everyone. Good luck!

Reason for rejection: Item allows the party to control a Balor.
You know that base land speed is not per round but per action?

Yeah, I already saw one very basic mistake I made in my item and kicked myself for it. Hey, I know that I messed up the language in my submission... my coffee consumptions has gone through the roof. But several SuperStar items in the last years had some bugs, making a mistake will not automatically DQ you when the basic idea and concept is sound.

Let's see... I could pay over 50k for +2 to certain Professions... Or I could get a +4 WIS headband, get +2 to EVERY Profession (as well as Perception, Will saves, Sense Motive...) and have a small fortune left over.
Next.

Seems that eyes are also the go to "slot". shudder Actually the writer meant effective but wrote affective which cracked me up I didn't even notice the typo, you know, since I seem to be flooded with them now. Can someone make spellcheck a spell for real?
saw 1 infomercial item, 3 joke items, at least 3 items straight out of movies/comics, slew of no bolds or bad formats and worst still a terrible item put up against a bad format item leaving me little choice but to elect the one that would normally have gotten a "no". I even think I saw a rehash of a previous winners item or two.
What I have seen buried in all this is some really crafty items that made me *smile*.
Thank you to those good submissions.. Some have been darn right sexy new DM toys.

renowned for being cursed?
An item that essentially doesn't do anything versus an item that does a bunch of unrelated things that don't link thematically?
I would look through here as I waited for the vote timer to go off when needed. Took about 45 minutes to catch up from where I left the comments last night.

I have played this game since year 1 and today I posted a PM to Sean to see if an item is a DQ or not.
First. Time. Ever.
I feel quite the heel at the moment.
The general specific of why I asked Sean to check the item is...
The item had omitted certain elements of the template. It was close to word limit and adding the missing items would have blown the word limit.
If this is your item, I am truly sorry.
If your item was the other item, you received a free up vote. :)
Two mantles with the same name and power, but one is too cheap.

I just encountered my first "poorly written/formatted item with a cool enough concept that I still liked it". Voted for it. Whoever you are, polish up and you could go places! :)
I want to say something witty about this one, and point out a silly flaw...then I realize it has many flaws. Than I reread it to see if I caught all the flaws, then.....daaaaaamn.
But one great lesson for new entrants reading this thread in horror: use these criticisms to entertain yourself, and then learn from them. "Big things come from small beginnings."
Wait, the items is magical, but says it can be used as an alternative to magic (?), only to go on and describe the magical effects it can grant? I think I took 1d4 sanity damage there.
Honestly, a lot of stuff in this thread is sort of nitpicky. Unavoidable when you're looking at so many items, I guess.
But the most common flaw by far is an item that just isn't exciting. All the other details are minor in comparison.

(Gnomish?) if you don't know, I sure don't.
Squeeeee I saw Andrew's item! That did not happen at all last year.
In full disclosure, I read it second hoping it was better than the first item I read, so I have no guilt voting for it.
People must really hate the rogues in their party.
