Impromptu Game... What should I play???

Advice

got one guy rolling barbarian/Oracle going for Rage Prophet, Another rolling an Anti-Paladin.

Evil game, 20 point buy.

What should I play? We start at level 4. Probably max level of 12.

Thanks, all!

Human, Racial Heritage(Orc), Scarred Witch Doctor.

Wow, Blackbloodtroll, you don't think Scarred Witch Doctor is cheesy enough?

Grand Lodge

Ugh.

I hate the overuse of the "cheese" label.

Scarred Witch Doctor fits in quite well thematically with it being an Evil game, and a primary arcane caster- and a debuffing one to boot- sounds a perfect addition to the group.

I second Blackbloodtroll.

Grand Lodge

I would play up the Orcishness.

Having the PC attempt to be more Orc than he/she is.

Brutal, and cruel, as a learned form of survival.

I feel you. trying to lean away from casters this time around though.... any suggestions? Probably should have started with that. Kinda co-DM... sort of.... I guess?

Grand Lodge

Goblin Trapper/Freebooter Ranger.

Nab Dervish Dance, or an Agile weapon.

Be a combat viable skill monkey, scout, trap breaker, and buffer.

The Exchange

You could do an assassin.
I personally like seeing arcane spellcasters dressed in evil though, maybe looking towards Shadow Dancer prestige class, looking for maximizing your pets, or Dragon Disciple, more focused on melee.
Evil, necromancy lovin' Cleric with his undead minions....
You don't get to do evil much so make sure it counts.

Grand Lodge

A Hobgoblin Inquisitor of Venkelvore with the Torture Subdomain or Heresy Inquisition, and the Fearsome alternate racial trait.

well, given your name/avatar, how about a catfolk ninja on his way to assassin?

edit: i say that kind of jokingly, but in all seriousness its a decent race/class combo and the ability to vanish when the time comes for someone's "sudden but inevitable betrayal" could be invaluable...

Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards a skill type character... So i like how this is trending.

The Exchange

You could also look into some monstrous races like gnoll, lizardfolk, kobold, etc...I would look into either a lizardfolk or kobold Saurian Shaman. It would be pretty cool to be a kobold riding on a pteranodon, or (at 7th level) riding his velocoraptor into combat, or riding along on his Ankylosaurus bashing dudes around, or a lizardfolk riding his T-rex into battle.....all the while summoning scaled creatures to kill his enemies.

Human Beastmorph/Vivisectionist Alchemist

Alchemist. Any race you want.

Beastmorph/Vivisectionist is evil, yes, but you already have two (presumably) melee dudes.

Go for the regular Alchemist (maybe a Grenadier), toss bombs like crazy, burn your opponents, do experiments on them (there's a Feat that lets you implant time bombs in people. Do eeeet), and bonus points 4+Int skills with an Int focus. Plenty of skills to go around.

LE Hobgoblin IronSkin Monk
Dampir negative channel blaster
evil gnome devil conjurer
whispering way guy

The Exchange

An evil character going into the Master Spy prestige class is loads of fun, but perhaps not the right third person for the group you've already detailed... Considering your group is well-covered on melee, a ranged spell specialist or archer seems like a solid bet.

I actually considered a Ranger/Master Spy... still sort of am. I do think an archer is a good idea... hm.

Goblin Trapper/Freebooter Ranger, Master Spy?

...or Hobgoblin?

Goblins make good sneaky skillful buggers.

I do think Ranger is a go... going to try for a sort of Green Knight feel. Lawful Evil, scary, quiet, likes to behead people. Carries an axe.

Any archetypes come to mind supporting that? Maybe a level or two of Rogue?

Seems to be the go to, doesn't it? Getting old.

I'd vote for Ninja.

My first thought was YAY let’s play Talisman … Not played that in years and then I realized it was character advise you were after … Disappointment sets in …

I am having fun with a Ranger (Trapper) 1/Sorcerer 4 going Dragon Disciple X. Running around with a great sword in skull and shackles. Race don’t matter; human would do well but I’m running with Asimaar trying to go a little along the lines of Elric of Melniborne. (very loosely)

No-one I am playing with has read the books or knows anything about it so I am entertaining myself.
