There were no encounter powers. Some of the tricks were once per day (crap).
But most were unlimited in use.
Nope, they weren't.
Unless otherwise noted, a skill trick can be performed only once per encounter (or once per minute, for scenes that don’t involve combat or other conflict). (Complete Scoundrel, Page 84)
But yeah, some were daily powers, which is even worse.

I refuse to believe in such nonsense.
But then again, my group always used a copy of the indexes from before they were taken down.

Who cares who is better than whom, it's a role-playing game. It's not about being powerful, it's about playing a character you enjoy playing and all having a great time doing so.
There is more than one style of gaming. I enjoy a beer 'n' pretzels game with Three Stooges-like characters. I also enjoy a hard-mode tactical game in which you need to tweak out your party ruthlessly to avoid being monster food. A game that would accommodate BOTH of those styles, instead of just one of them, would be really nice.

Would you have fun in a game where one plays iron man with his power suit, someone else plays Thor, Hulk and Cap America and you get to play Pepper Potts?
I mean she's cute, has brains and such. She sure would be a blast to play.
