Kish stick to what you are doing, don't chase gaps :)

Looks like Helaman has arrived, and with a cleric too!

Grand Lodge

I'll do some mucking around with the character but this one will fight from the second rank with a long spear.

Silver Crusade

AC18/Touch12/Flatfoot16/CMD 14||HP18/[18]| Fort:+5 ;Ref:+2 ;Wil+5|Percept +5/Sense Motive +7|Init+2| Female Hwangot Aasimar Cleric 2 (Mendevian Priest Archetype) / Fav. Class

Ok... bought some more equipment and as I am under level 2, made some minor changes to my character in regards to feat choice.

I'll be a 2nd rank combatant with a long spear and as needed can buff people socially with touch of glory and/or guidance (which is good for lots of things)

VC - Sydney, Australia

Opening posts are up.

Also, I have posted a Primer for those unfamiliar with Kaer Maga, which is your destination city (you aren't there yet, but will be very soon!) so have a look if Kaer Maga is all news to you :)

Silver Crusade

HP 43/45 Female Half-Elf Rogue (Unchained) 6 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 | HP 45 | F +5 R +10 (+2 v Traps) W +4 (+2 v Ench) | Init +4 | Perception +15 | S.M. +10

Yes sir, GM Shifty, sir! Here is Kish in her level 2 glory. I did make some minor changes, I dropped the Elven Reflexes trait and picked up the faction trait, Unorthodox Strategy and shifted her Skill Focus to Diplomacy and took Coax Information as a Rogue Talent.

Also, Shifty we need to deduct 35 from our gold for the boat ride in our last encounter, right? I haven't updated equipment, just made a note about how much gold to add.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Just roll with your sheet, I should have technically deducted 6 gold from each of you... :p

Sheet updated and gear bought.

Grand Lodge

Male Half Elf - Knife Master 2 || AC:15 T:13 FF:12 || HP: 16/16 || F:1 R:6 W:2 || Init:9

I still need to buy gear (and I might not) but otherwise ready.

Grand Lodge

M Tengu Magus 3 HP 25/27

On a lighter note, here's episode 1 of a webseries I'm in made by a bunch of friends of mine. I play the Wizard. It's sort of Order of the Stick meets Cheers. It's the first episode and we're all still figuring out what works, but I think we did alright. :)

Silver Crusade

HP 43/45 Female Half-Elf Rogue (Unchained) 6 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 | HP 45 | F +5 R +10 (+2 v Traps) W +4 (+2 v Ench) | Init +4 | Perception +15 | S.M. +10

That's great! So are you the one saying "Not if I buff you with the strength of a giant." at 6:26? Took me a few plays to make out that was the line, I could have sworn something else was being said for a moment! XD

Grand Lodge

M Tengu Magus 3 HP 25/27

Yeah, that's me. We had some audio problems. It improves for the second episode... X)

Silver Crusade

HP 43/45 Female Half-Elf Rogue (Unchained) 6 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 | HP 45 | F +5 R +10 (+2 v Traps) W +4 (+2 v Ench) | Init +4 | Perception +15 | S.M. +10

Added some gear and fixed my gold:
Masterwork Backpack (50gp, 4 lb)
Healer’s Kit (50gp, 1 lb)
Scrivener’s Kit (2gp, 1 lb)
Smokestick x2 (40gp, 1 lb)
Sunrod x3 (6gp, 3 lb)

VC - Sydney, Australia

Great first shot though Tik!

Sczarni

Bit of a soft start as we get everyone together, but come tomorrow morning the Kaer Maga train will be in full swing, please check in if you haven't - and make sure you are all leveled and good to go - things get stabby pretty quickly :)

Good thing I like to do the stabbin'!

Grand Lodge

M Tengu Magus 3 HP 25/27

I hope so! Tikrit didn't get to use his new Katana once last scenario. ;)

Scarab Sages

Male Halfling Cavalier 4 (HP 38/38 | AC: 23 | T:14 | FF:20 | Fort:+8 | Ref:+6 | Will:+2 | Init+3 (now +0) | Perception+8 (now +3) | Cond Cursed

I've also done a bit of "shopping" (i.e. I reworked my PC before hitting 2nd level). It's all updated on his character sheet.

Grand Lodge

Male Elf Wizard 5 HP 32/32 | AC 13 (17)* | T 13 | FF 10 | Fort +3 | Ref +4 | Will +5 (+2 vs. ench.) | CMD 15 | Init +11 | Perc +9 | DF 7/8

Raoul is updated. I didn't buy anything after this past scenario, I just haven't had time to think about it too much.

Sczarni

Posts are up, sorry the site was down all day so that scotched my plans!

- Factions:
The new Guide to Organised Play is out, and as this is a Season 1 scenario, the individual faction items are optional 'roleplay and flavour' only. On that basis I have elected not to run them for this session however, if people passionately want them (for flavour) then I am open to conversations about them for next scenario. I wasn't real wild on this lot of them to be honest anyhow...

-Purchases:
There's a new inventory track sheet out as well, for good record keeping, make sure you keep one logged and filled out as you go - they are required as a 'produce on demand' for character audits if it ever comes up.

-In game 'but I forgot to buy...'
Kaer Maga is a huge city, you can buy stuff there for sure :)

Once again, any concerns please holler!

Grand Lodge

Faction missions will arrive via PM?

Stabby by the second paragraph is fast indeed, lol.

Sczarni

Helaman wrote:

They have been yanked for Season 0/1/2 :(

Strange I know.

Shadow Lodge

It's not THAT strange. There are a lot of faction missions that the new factions would have to do for the older factions that made NO sense for them to do (Killing people as Silver Crusade), there is a Qadiran mission where you gather information on another faction (Lantern Lodge...oh wait) and some just feel out of character or clunky. I'm kind of glad they did it this way.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Well yeah I guess there is that too :p

Maybe it is all for the best in a way!

Shadow Lodge

I have watched friends flat out refuse to do faction missions for the wrong faction because they were completely out of character for them and/or for their faction. Some GMs respected it and others didn't.

Scarab Sages

Male Halfling Cavalier 4 (HP 38/38 | AC: 23 | T:14 | FF:20 | Fort:+8 | Ref:+6 | Will:+2 | Init+3 (now +0) | Perception+8 (now +3) | Cond Cursed

Shifty, technically the season 5 rules don't go into effect until Aug 15th, so you'd be perfectly in your rights to ignore them, since you started this game before.

Silver Crusade

HP 43/45 Female Half-Elf Rogue (Unchained) 6 | AC 22 T 15 FF 22 | HP 45 | F +5 R +10 (+2 v Traps) W +4 (+2 v Ench) | Init +4 | Perception +15 | S.M. +10

This happens because Silver Crusade and others weren't factions during the earlier seasons, right? I, for one, don't want any Andoran or other side missions to sub in, especially if they involve assassination or something counter to the SC intentions. =/

VC - Sydney, Australia

Actually that is true.

Will leave them out for this one though, will check for next session to ensure they make sense :) No murderous Silver Crusades etc.

Updates Updated!

Long couple of days, tomorrow might be slow as well - a chance I may miss the update tomorrow evening depending on how the day pans out. An endless battery of fitness assessments and re-qualification tests awaits me come the morning. Yay. Hooah or something.

Grand Lodge

Joy.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Yeah, it sucks. LOL.

Great way to spend what is suggested to be a glorious Sydney day, blue skies and sunshine and all.

How is your APFT run? Army here is still push ups,sit ups, 2 mile run.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Yep we have that too, but there's also the new transitional 'combat fitness' as well - here.

Should be an ok day, it's just all the other stuff you end up doing on top, and that I have to play OIC - which means I get to do it a few times :p

The Army attempted to do a complete overhaul of the PT program, but resistance was so stiff that I am sure they will scrap it before it ever takes hold. It was just starting to make the transition when I entered and now the new PT test has already been done away with. The Marines here really get with it.

VC - Sydney, Australia

'The section moves as fast as the slowest member...and mobility is survival' :p

It's serious business :)

Poor mortarmen nothing like carrying a manhole cover in addition to a full kit. lol

Geez, and here I thought the back-to-school shopping I'm planning for today was enough of an experiment in endurance. >_<

Just wanted to point out that I did make my Round 1 attack, here.

If any of you caster types haven't looked at the feat "Shielded Caster," let me know if you want to take it at the next level you get a feat. I will use my feat to pick it up as it will give you a +6 to concentration checks and halve any negatives from attacks made with the "Disruptive" feat.

I have a show on this weekend so my posting may be a bit sparse.

Ha! Must have been whilst I was typing up my post - only a couple of minutes apart :)

@Bravo Team: I think we should travel with our missile weapons in hand from here on out. Fire once for strikers then move and draw weapons after surprise round or first action. Continue to maintain fire for second liners till it is necessary to deploy magical capabilities or reach weapons. Pair one magic man with one fighter and 3/4 BABs operate in close proximity. I now am capable of always buffing one character's AC+2 with Saving Shield as an immediate action.

When moving Jivo should be on point 10' ahead of main body. Overland squad movement should look like this when it is not possible for proper squad movement JivoXX PozX ArX
GrogX RaoX Al.

This will give us the ability avoid all getting sucked in by ray/AoE attacks and also allow for getting fire on line quickly in both directions and sides. When moving overland the arrangement would change a little, but should get us going. Next time we go shopping I think the bards need longspears and I will buy them if necessary. You will be able to threaten a greater range with a melee type filling the gap between. Anyone who can use a crossbow should have one. They can be readied and dropped if needed. We should be able to drop threats in fewer rounds like this and after we get the tactics together we won't even think about them any more.

When we get to urban/dungeon stuff I will post my thoughts on room entry and stack order. We will be making use of flashpowder, thuderstones, tanglefoot bags, marbles and caltrops to control our environment. This will increase the abilities of our magical types to save spells for real threats and grouped/herded combatants.

Shifty, enjoy Way of the Kirin, but I don't think that is the last we shall see of Mistress Li.

Ended up running this today, a shame I didn't get to actually play it but that's how it goes some days. That said, what a cracker of a scenario!

Only took about 3 odd hours prep work, but paid off...I got right into the whole cinematic of it all, and the chaps had a ball.

Shadow Lodge

That's great. I'm glad you had fun with it!

Yeah we had the map printed out to 1" grid, and I made up a small army of the stand up pawns in uniform appropriate attire... looked more like a recreation of the movie RAN as they all came streaming in, oh and Ninjas, they had Ninjas (ok they weren't, but thats what they looked like).

For each scenario I also go off and find setting approriate music and images off google and chuck them into moviemaker, and then play the 'slide show' on the big screen - so the guys all got four hours of meditative flute music Shakuhachi - Sadly though, I was all out of green tea. Next time.

I am fine with buying a longspear when we get into the city proper.

New boons out today.

They are issued for your character achieving six or more PP for your faction during the Risen Rune season of PFS – more info on the PFS section Blog

As I know some of you have certainly achieved this because they did all three sections of the First Steps series with the same character, I have sent out completed Boons today.

Aranan
Grogson
Jivokun
Raoul
Pozuket

Grimaldus
Kishara
Mandrak
Yhen

Happy to sort out any others if you provide me the relevant details (Chronicle Details etc)

Cheers!

Sweet, thanks GM Shifty!

Shadow Lodge

That's awesome. I had originally been told it would be for playing a year 4 mod, but I have done this on 9 characters as of tomorrow (the last day of the season)

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar Bard (Archaeologist) 2

Awesome. I have been debating using my Pathfinder Online Chronicle as well.

Grand Lodge

Link seems down - is it a limit of one per player or for all characters? I've a few that have added 6pp + during the last 12 months.

Edit: Its for all characters. That said?

There are issues with how First Steps Pt2 and 3 are being reported.
