Cherry, lemon, and a mixed berry pie

I'd bring you victory by turning all enemies against one another and rule a Kingdom successfully, whilst supporting you and keeping you all alive. ;)

Check out my stats. :p

gm I saw your ratings, what part of Korin "sharptongue" do you feel needs fleshing out?

Slide it on over...

Fizzy reaches out for the pie.

Come Lizz of the Fizz Sly and have some Pie!

Yossarin here.

1d6 ⇒ 3 2nd level hit die roll

Also realized I only rolled six times for stats.

5d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 2, 6) = 21 17

All right, now the character sheet and the background are done. You don't get too much more BOOM mage than an evocation specialist wizard under the Tytalan philosophy. The character sheet and background are in the Alias, and the background can be modified to include potential in-party ties once it is revealed who those characters actually are. I'm flexible and creative enough to invent that with the proper information.

Also, I remember you, Fizzwiddle. I was the "other bard" from Westcrown who wound up in a different party. Good to see you! :)

Pie!!! Sly licks his chomps in anticipation!

Updated my backstory to provide some hooks from people he's met.. Thanks!

HEY HEY! the other bard.

Yea fizzy wound up being quite the character before that dm shut us down. That led him to another game with a player taht thought fizzy was funny, and then the DM shut that one down. And here I am again.

*************

Fizzy neatly slices the pie into two pieces and dives into his while tossing the other to The Sly.

It is best not to describe the sounds made by Fizzy as he eats the delectable offering...

Honestly to continue to flesh out your background there are many different things you could add. I will try to make it slightly vague so that others may elaborate on their stories if they want to as well.

Well first off making an Alias makes it easy for me to find your background story. Pictures are good too, but that is besides the point.

Nope going to make it specific, and others can gather what I did. The tower of the Evocker, who is he/she, how did you gain their respect or attention to be trained in the first place. How long did you spend with him?

Where did you learn the ability to lead men, did you have an example to take after, or did it come naturally? How long were you with these men?

Why were you good with the nobles? Elaborate on the story or even give some specifics. Yes you are only 2nd level so there won't be very many or even very famous things. Also here you could say how you gained some of your MW/MC weapons or armor, or accumulated enough wealth to buy a wondrous magic item.

Have you made any enemies, allies, piss off ppl, etc. Give me some hooks.

Research on becoming a better wizard, finding a few libraries to gain additional knowledge. Etc.

sly is going to be fat like fizzy soon

Silver Crusade

You would likely not be in the stolen lands, maybe on the fringes, which would allow your men to gamble in Restov.

Do you go back to your mentor/master to continue learning or pick it up here and there.

Korin "sharptongue"

Giving you GM some additional background for Korin

likes/dislikes:
Korin favors actions of daring, cunning and military strategy, when it comes right down to it he would rather have twenty well trained soilders then a rag tag militia. He admires those who don't just crush their enemies but do it with minimal loss of life. He rewarded those under his command for acts of bravery that allow his group to achieve victory.

Korin depises the weak, incompetant and stupid. He views those three traits as the deathmark of a soilder...no matter whether he is wearing rags or a fancy mithril suit of platemail. Idiots were weeded out of his ranks whenever he found them and he judge any companions by the critera above.

Contacts:
While he did many jobs for the nobility Korin never courted their favor. Instead he focused his efforts on improving his own men and building up a small but effective intelligence network. The primary job of his network consisting of six people led by his "lieutentant" the tiefling woman Balara.

Balara was tall and striking, her beauty was not of the classical nature but rather one that caught and held all who focused upon it. She always found the information he needed and planted the daggers where they were required. If he could contact her he might gain useful information on the city she prowls so diligently.

Evoker training:
What made his teacher Kelistin choose to teach him was never clear, other then the fact that his master was good at spotting talent. He did not just learn Evocation from those old tomes, he learned the history of warfare and reads treatises concerning the leadership of men.

These lessons were pounded into him again and again and it shows he never tolerates the mistreatment of weapons and armor by his men. While they viewed him as a ruthless bastard they also respected him for succeeding where every other person failed.

Kelistin taught him the importance of studying multiple branchs of magic as well, his lessons had saved Korin's life more then once. His relationship with Kelistin though as while he was trained well his master felt that he should have stayed on at the tower to increase his knowledge of the arcane.

Korin does not value spells that don't in some way or another allow him to harm, hinder or outright kill his foes. To this end he prizes scrolls, staves, wands and other objects that allow him to increase his destructive abilities.

Mercenary work:
Nobles valued him for his disgression and effiency, most said that he could have a nest of bandits, goblins, orcs etc...purged in just a few days of being hired. However while they earned a fairly large haul of gold from an extensive period of activity during the late spring-early summer, the men were not good at controlling themselves around the dice and cards. Soon they had wracked up an impressive ammount of debt, enough to have them sent to prison as such Korin decided that a good, year long excursion into the "Stolen Lands" would be a smart move.

gm your review?

Any critique for me (Portia) would be welcome if you get time :)

I take one too, if you wouldn't mind

Same here. I've also got more details on Ureste if you want them.

Silver Crusade

Good additions Viluki! :)

Next is Gilthanis...for Portia:

Being the Black Sheep did she do anything to present itself before finding this boy? Did this boy and his 'friends' teach you to be a rogue? You may want to say a little more specific a few things that you have either learned or done. How much time did she spend with these fellows, learning their ways, weeks, months, what? This part explains why she is a rogue level one, rather than a commoner or noble.

[[[Unsure of where to go, she heard of an emerging nation of Brevoy, where all were accepted, regardless of past. She decided it was a good a place as any to start anew and fresh. It just so happened to be hundred of miles away from her dictator parents, oh darn she thought, I get to finally be myself and do my own thing. It took her many grueling months, avoiding everything and everyone to ensure that she was not found by her dictator parents.]]] What happened to the boy? Why would you not go back to him? How far was the school from your home? I am just trying to make logic and help you elaborate.

How many miles between the school and Brevoy? Did you have to steal food, develop your rogue skills, did you join a caravan of halflings who gave you some lessons?

[[[Upon reaching Brevoy, she was able to breathe, who would search all the way in the middle of nowhere for her. Plus she hoped they assumed she were dead, how could a girl make it anywhere by herself in the cruel world we live in today. She went to a local bar, and ordered a stiff drink, she needed one after her journey. While there, she met a spry and energetic Gnome by Fizzwiddle. I may have to keep him around for awhile, at least he knows how to have fun which is what I enjoy most, Portia thought to herself.]]] Yes, but you could not find him the next day. You may have asked around town and have been trying to track him down to have some more fun! :)

Hooks could be your family and the boyfriend, though none of it explains why you would have any weapons, armor, or even money. What is the next chapter? How did you gain that next level of rogue?

You have Brigand as a trait, expand on that for right now you are merely a run away black sheep. You really have not embraced being a rogue yet, or at least it does not sound like it.

Feel free to ask more questions or more advice.

Silver Crusade

Understand I am not giving you demands, just suggestions on how you can develop your character. Look at your character sheet and ask yourself, did I explain why I have that skill? Why I have that feat? Why I have a totem? Etc.

Torq:

Your background is a great start, it is informative and explains your character really well.

Now you need to either go into the stories and things that you have done which have allowed you grow into the level 2 rogue that you are. True, you could say that it is implied but right now that is all you have, the equipment of a 1st level.

Or you could explain how you got to the Stolen Lands, who did you travel with, make some contacts, maybe connect with a few of the other applicants or just make some up. Did you discover anythign on your way in? Did you fight anything, did you save anyone? Why do you have that MW WarAxe? why do you have that mystical item that sprouts flames once a day when you sneeze?

Let your imagination go wild, then once you stop having some ideas, go through them and get rid of the Trolls, Ogres, and Dragons at least the slaying of them. A dragon you met would be fine, though if you fought it you got stuck in a magical gem then.

Thanks for the tips, fixes should be done after I get some sleep :)

I think you've received enough PM's from me already, to need any more information. :p

Spoiler:
Lelouch knows Infernal as he was always interested in fantasy, myths and legends, learning the language when he was much younger, just so he could understand documented records of supposedly real creatures from the abyss.

He knows Elven and Dwarven as it was compulsory for him to learn the languages as an Orlovsky son. Skald is his families primary language, and although not spoken much anywhere, is a language he's fluent in.

Added a bit more to Xan's backstory - a little run-in with some of Ureste's subordinates as she left Restov (I'm assuming since anyone from this thread is joining partway through Book 1 that she'd be some way behind the rest of the group so I fluffed it as a bureaucratic smeg-up somewhere along the way).

I'll probably add another spoiler later tonight for miscellaneous info - why she knows certain languages, why she has those tattoos, etc.

Silver Crusade

That works Xantira, at least from what I can see now in my lack of sleep postings. You CAN'T HOLD IT AGAINST ME!!!!! but sleep won't come to me, *Whimpers*. Sounds good.

Lelouch looks good, add it to your Alias.
Noooo, I said I was not going to post here any more, okay, last time! I hope.

Silver Crusade

As I am editing/suggesting/imagining feel free to see the suggestions I have proposed to the other's character sheets. It might just help you develop a little more.

Xantria's turn:

Aldori, isn't that a bit presumptuous. I think that is the right word.

Wow, nice stats.

I read the Duel, it is very well done and has really good flavor. I am not going to look through that and try to put more into it.

See Torq's spoiler, you have a great start you just need to go a little bit father and explain why you are 2nd level, how you learned your skills, feats, etc.

You want me to stick this into the Alias as part of that Misc spoiler I mentioned in my last post?

Reply:
Well if you look at the name field on her Myth Weavers sheet, you can see that her real surname is Belacose. Calling herself Xantria Aldori is part of that tradition of Aldori Swordlords giving up their surname and taking the name Aldori instead. She's just adopted it prematurely so that next time she sees her parents it might sink into them that she's got no intention of joining a paladin order and is wholly devoted to being one of the Swordlords.

I suppose her being second level would probably be covered both by working as a caravan guard when she was crossing Numeria to reach Brevoy combined with her training under Master Larek (the Swordlord teaching her) as well as trying to fight Ureste's gang.

Her Angelic Blood feat I see more as a natural manifestation of her lineage, rather than anything she actually learnt and probably doesn't even know it's effects (or at least not the one about her blood harming undead or creatures with the evil subtype). Weapon Finesse and EWP (Aldori Duelling Sword) both fall under her training from Master Larek. Same with most of her skills (save for Intimidate, she's recognised the value of knocking an opponent off-balance psychologically for a long while courtesy of some of the stories about the Swordlords she read back in Nerosyan).

As for languages - Taldan (Common) was what she naturally learnt growing up, Celestial she knew instinctively from her heritage, Draconic she learnt thanks to her younger (human) brother who's studying wizardry. As for Dwarven; she learnt that from a family friend out of curiosity of some of the dwarven that her father occasionally used (turns out he was just swearing and cursing in frustration most of the time he used the language - a habit he purposely developed to avoid swearing around his kids while they were young).

Her Sword Scion trait is another thing from Larek's training (who got her the duelling sword and chain shirt she currently uses - originally so that she could get used to the weight of armour and a real sword) while Fencer is a 50/50 thing from her father's training and Larek's.

Silver Crusade

Sounds good, real good. You guys are coming along really well. It will be a tough job choosing.

I had some more Misc stuff to put into her Alias - details on her tattoos, Ureste and Master Larek - but when I hit the save button the forum seems to've swallowed it.

EDIT: Second time's the charm. As for an example of how bad Larek is at lying - he literally could not fool the most gullible man in Restov, who once bought a lump of coal after being conned into believing it was a piece of 'synthetic Numerian ore'.

Restov's most gullible man is basically Ronnie Corbett's character in this old skit. That Larek can't even lie to him should tell you how bad he is at it.

Ok, so after your help i have updated Torq's backstory again. Tell me what you think plz! Thanks..

Background:

Chyle was a bastard from house Lebeda, and like most, he was disposed of. He was raised by a poor alchemist and his wife in New Stetven, and they treated him well.
Chyle took a liking to experimenting with alchemical ingredients from his "father". Sadly enough, late in his twelfth summer, he got his father's key to the cabinet with his special ingredients. Chyle were in the process of combining two unknown substances, when his father came into the room. His father ran and threw himself on the ongoing ignition. Chyle survived the resulting explosion, with his foster father as meat shield. In guilt, Chyle ran away from home.
He slept in the streets one night, the next day he couldn't find his way home and ended up on the streets. Trained in the art of stealing and surviving on the streets, he lived on.
Well into his 24th year his earlier crimes combined with a failed violent robbery of a well known noble got him a death sentence. Chyle escaped prison by using his alchemy talents to make a bomb of some ingredients traded into the prison with the help of some buried ill gotten goods and its location.
Chyle took his backup money from its hiding place, and fled the city.
My answer to your wink:
On the way out to nowhere, after a week of hard riding to the stolen lands(Chyle wanted to travel to a place where he wouldn't meet anyone who could recognize him) as he stopped in an inn for the night. There he saw a noble named Viklop Kolavar, who were also in alligency with house lebada. He felt the same usual hatred of the nobles after what they did to him, but he wouldn't want to confront him. That would lead to nothing except more troubles.
Next day when he traveled along the main road he heard battle around the corner. He carefully peaked from behind a tree. He could see Viklop Kolavar and another one, probably a friend. Hiding around 80 feet away, he could see an archer aiming an arrow at Viklop Kolavar. Chyle didn't know why he did it, but he took a bolt into his crossbow, aimed at the archer and shot. The bolt went into the head and the archer collapsed. Chyle got on his horse and got away before anyone noticed anything.

Description:

Chyle is Sleek and strong and could be handsome if not for his hard gaze and his scars. He is a bit low, but he won't need height when he is shooting from afar.

I feel your pain Xantria Aldori I always try to remember to copy before hitting that submit button especially if it is a lot of text but sometimes you forget and it gets lost to the webs aether.
