This is my second year entering RPG Superstar, and I'm super excited. Last year I made some glaring mistakes (included history and fluff), but this year I devoured and digested the rules and feel confident that my item won't be 'auto' rejected this time at least.
Good luck everyone!
Seconded! Good luck to everyone! This is actually my first year entering RPG Superstar. I'm hoping to avoid the dreaded auto-reject as well. Beyond that, everything is gravy.
I´m a newcomer to Pathfinder, and likewise a first-time entrant. And I think without the wealth of competition information both archived and recent, I would not have stood a chance*. Very excited here too! Good luck, all.
* assuming I stand a chance now, that is!
My first year as well, but I still took extra precautions with going over the template and making sure everything was up to snuff - but I know a lot of others have done the same.
Best of luck to everyone! I suspect we'll see some awesomeness come out of this contest.
Congratulations on entering, and good luck!

Wow, nice to see so many new entrants.
Is it me, or is the waiting the WORST part?
Thanks Will, much appreciated!
The waiting is the worst part.
....except for being Disqualified, so hopefully that didn't happen because that would suck!
And now we go back to waiting....
Question all:
I know this has probably been said before, but when you submit - do you get a confirmation anywhere that your submission went through?
3rd time here. 1st time... flavor text and not a slot. 2nd time... extremely complicated item. 3rd time... Well, we'll just have to see.
Both of my GMs have been very pleased by my distraction in this competition. It's kept me from bugging them about their games. :)
JDNYC: Looking at the home page for the RPGSS, you should see a bolded message under the logo thanking you for entering the contest, good luck, and all that.

Right below the logo on the main page of RPG Superstar. Make sure you are logged in!
Bearded Shwa is correct and a ninja!
Just submitted my first entry. Tougher than I ever imagined and I still don't think I stand a chance. Worked and reworked and reworked my idea to fit the criteria... We'll see. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to the voting!
Wait... Council, are you saying that items MUST be slot item? I don't recall reading that anywhere.
Madslayer wrote: Wait... Council, are you saying that items MUST be slot item? I don't recall reading that anywhere. I took it to mean it was an obvious slot item that he neglected to add the slot.

I am on my forth submission. Old timer that has qualified for every mistaken in the book including the Joke item guide book they told you about in Magical Item do's and don'ts 101. But that is ok, I keep at it, this is about doing what I love. I have been creating my own adventures, modules, world building, map making, item generating and spell generating for over 25 years now and still find it just as fun and satisfying as I did the first day someone handed me a Chainmail book and asked me to play the game with them. So for those that make it to Superstar.. I congradulate you- its not an easy task. For the rest.. chin up Billy- Tomorrow is a brand new day.~
Although I've been fortunate enough to have some very supportive players over many years, this is the first open contest I've entered in for this sort of thing.
I've always gotten a kick out of wondrous items and tend to use those more than magicals arms & armor in my home games; I'm very much looking forward to seeing what feedback I can get from everyone!

Welcome Matthew!
Welcome Warren!
Welcome Sean H!
Welcome Warfteiner!
Good luck
I don't really like Pathfinder that much, but I love RPG design and I couldn't pass this up. Two very simple errors are going to DQ me in spirit if not literally. Can't say any more though.
I'm in for the third year now, obviously didn't make the cut last year :P
Had a great time in the ring in 2011 and am hoping to make the cut again this year.
Best of luck to everyone this year and it's always great to see you newbs getting in gear and giving RPGSS a go.
Waiting is definitely the worst part. Close behind are A, endlessly going over your entry in your head and doubting it... and B, panicking every time a new "Don't do this" thread pops up.
Ruh... o.o
The worst part is when you finally klick on the Superstar Logo to check the deadline and realize that it was yesterday...
Madslayer wrote: Wait... Council, are you saying that items MUST be slot item? I don't recall reading that anywhere. Nope, Madslayer. I had a pair of earings and slotted them on the ears. There's no slot for ears... Head, headband, eyes... Yes. No ears.
Sorry for the confusion.

Wishing you the best in the contest~
First time entrant here, too. I set a goal earlier this year to get my name in the hat for three game design opportunities by next April and hadn't done diddly about it so far. So despite the fact I only heard about this contest a few days before the deadline, I buckled down and came up with something. Certainly challenging... especially since I had two other freelance assignments with the same deadline. I couldn't have told you what my name was yesterday!
Good luck to everybody!
My first time entering the contest too. No matter what happens I am certainly excited about it and just wanted to say, "Good luck to all of you."
I've been reading a lot of the posts regarding the RPG Superstar event, and posts from other people on this site. I have to say that it is certainly a nice change of pace being in a contest that is filled with people of good sportsmanship and great character.

Please, just be an example. referencing a non-existant slot is a decent mark against you, but specifically saying you used the ears slot breaks anonymity.
I cannot stress this enough people - DONT TALK ABOUT YOUR ENTRIES UNTIL AFTER VOTING HAS CLOSED!
I think this was his first entry into the competition he was talking about, Ronars, not this year's.
