Caravan Bond (Su)
At 1st level, by leading a group prayer for 1 minute, a Varisian Pilgrim can select a number of traveling companions equal to her cleric level + her Wisdom bonus. She may use her domain-granted powers on any of these traveling companions as if they were her. She can use these abilities on her traveling companions at a range of up to 30 feet, even if the ability normally requires her touch. This ability replaces the cleric’s proficiency with medium armor and shields—she retains proficiency with light armor only.

This archetype is required to choose Chaos, Community, Liberation, Luck, Travel, or Weather domain (or the Exploration, Fate, Freedom, Trade, or Seasons subdomains if available in the campaign) as one of her domains. I haven't run through every diety to compile a list of every domain and subdomain that could legally be paired with each of these, but let's look at a few domain powers and see how this Caravan Bond thing would work.

Healing: Healer's Blessing - At 6th level, all of your cure spells are treated as if they were empowered...

Fire: Fire Resistance - At 6th level, you gain resist fire 10...

Feather: Eyes of the Hawk - You gain a racial bonus on Perception checks [...and...] a +2 racial bonus on your Initiative check.

For the Pilgrim, that's all continuous. How would she "use [these] domain-granted powers on any of these traveling companions as if they were her?" How long would it last? How many times a day could it be done?

Exploration: Dimensional Hop - At 8th level, you can teleport up to 10 feet per cleric level per day as a move action...

What does using this ability on other "as if they were her" mean here? Do they all get to dimension hop? Using their own cleric level of "none" or her cleric level of 8+? Does each affected person get 80 feet to work with per day or is it a communal pool? (This ability already allows the cleric to bring other people along, expending an equal amount of distance for each creature brought.)

Caravan Bond (Su) sounds like a real winner at first, but I can't figure out what it would actually do in many cases.

Dot.

It doesn't do much for the domains you listed but take a look at the Luck domain ...

Good Fortune (Ex): At 6th level, as an immediate action, you can reroll any one d20 roll you have just made before the results of the roll are revealed. You must take the result of the reroll, even if it's worse than the original roll. You can use this ability once per day at 6th level, and one additional time per day for every six cleric levels beyond 6th.

... this is extremely nice when you, or anyone in your party, fail a really important save.

Hmm so if the cleric had the growth domain she could swift action enlarge any party member within 30' sounds like a great trick to me.

Scarab Sages

Another question...what about travel domain, can you grant your companions the extra 10 movement? Is it on all day as long they are within 30'? Or better yet, what about Darkness domain, with caravan bond, can you grant everyone the blind fitting bonus feat you get as a granted power?

Hmm

Sovereign Court

Shameless bump. At a first reading, this ability gives Healer's Blessing the ability to work at 30ft. That means free empowered, reach-enabled healing spells w/ no level increase or casting time increase.

Has Paizo clarified this ability? RAW, it says "domain powers" rather than the domains mentioned in the initial ability.

Radiant Oath

I'm gonna bump this as well; I love love love this archetype (for flavor purposes as well as crunch). My assumption was that Caravan Bond is intended to be used with domain powers with a limited number of uses per day, but a clarification would be most excellent and much appreciated!

at this stage its not really bumping, December 2012, this is called necro :)

Radiant Oath

Really? I guess I just looked at the date of the previous post and went from there. I still feel like this is worth talking about; would it be better to make the thread again to discuss it? I considered doing that, but it just kinda struck me as inefficient.

Still no news?

It comes in handy w/Travel to use Agile Feet (ignore terrain for 1 rd) as free action on a party member about to get in the face of the spellcaster who just dropped ice storm on us ;-)

I've used the Travel and Liberation domain powers from my Varisian Pilgrim/Musket Master on his parties consistently at PFS tables without issue. The rulings I've always had from various GMs is that both domain powers last for one day among the party members but that in order to use the powers, the party member must be within 30 feet of my Gunslinger/Cleric. Also, the rounds per day of Agile Feet come off of my character's maximum. So if I had, for example 6 rds of Agile Feet per day and 4 party members used it in the first combat, then I would only be able to divvy out 2 more rounds to myself or any other party member for the remainder of the day - so each party member under the effect of Caravan Bond doesn't get their own individual pool of 6 rds of Agile Feet per day, if that makes sense.

Scarab Sages

Still no official ruling?

In my games I ruled it only works with the activated powers, even though the wording suggests otherwise.

The main problem lies in the fact that if the pilgrim is only required to take ONE of the domains of the list, while his other could be any ohter it's deity provides.

Just to illustrate:
Protection would give the entire party the save bounes, Knowledge would make all knowledge skills class skills for the party and Rune would give them all scribe scroll... even if you can't cast spells :P

Any movement on this topic? Anyone aware of any new guidance that might be relevant to such things?

Interested in playing this archetype as a cleric of Hanspur, traveling the rivers, so feedback would be helpful.

Is there a duration to the ability's use, or is it operative (potentially over days, weeks, months, etc.) until a different group is targeted?

If you interpret "use" as "activate for" rather than "benefit from", the archetype is easy to adjudicate and not overpowered. That means that the resistance bonus from Protection or the speed bost from travel are never shared, but Agile Feet and the like can be shared.

Agreed... things like the +10 movement from the Travel domain arent 'activated' but are innate gifts
