Gave Rowan Mouri a better-looking character portrait. Made minor changes to the sheet layout as well.

NEW CONTENT!
I am adding a new map section to my Emporium.
Currently, I have maps for the following:
- Forest, Dense
- Forest, Medium (with clearing)
- Forest, Medium (with night time campsite)
I may well add more later as time permits. In the long run, perhaps I will cover all of the terrain types in the Environment chapter with similar a illustrative style.
I've also moved the Inner Sea Region map from Roleplaying Tools to the new Map section. If you have any useful maps to donate, let me know and I will add them.
Enjoy.

I'm currently traveling out of town and during my lay overs, I'm going to try and work out some of my builds to submit. Basically reverse engineering and double checking the math to find out exactly what choices I used (PT buy, what wealth etc) to make them. I, unfortunately, mixed up my builds of various pt-buy, wealth (PC wealth, NPC Wealth and 20-pt buy NPC Wealth*) so I'm not entirely certain what is what.
This has actually been the primary reason why I haven't submitted anything as I'm not looking forward to pouring over my builds and recalculating and reverse engineering everything.
The three that I'm interested in submitting in the near future is a Halfling husband and wife duo of giant slayers (both 13th level). Another is inspired by Erik Mona's character Ostog the Unslain, a Barbarian that played an entire campaign without ever wearing armor or dying. They share the same name and picture (because the character art is awesome), but I suspect the two are radically different in mechanics.
If your campaign is using the fast experience progression, treat your NPCs as one level higher when determining their gear. If your campaign is using the slow experience progression, treat the NPCs as one level lower when determining their gear. If your campaign is high fantasy, double these values. Reduce them by half if your campaign is low fantasy.
If your PCs are built using 20 pt-buy, it's considered to be a 'high fantasy' game. Thus NPCs in this game should be generated with double the normal NPC wealth. I have to wonder if PFS takes this into consideration in their game design...
I'm also considering building 25 pt-buy PCs to go along with them, just to keep them tot he "Ravingdork standard" if nothing else :P

Ravingdork |

Actually, if you DON'T build your characters to the "Ravingdork Standards" than you may actually increase their utility to other players and GMs out there.
That is, if the gallery has both 20- and 25-point buy characters, would it not benefit more styles of play?

Oh! I like building multiple versions of the same character to be used in various formats.
For example, 15 pt-buy NPC with NPC wealth, and then a PC version of the same character at 15, 20 and 25 pt-buy. If I don't build it, I usually have notes in my 'Build template' of what the different point buys do and change. Like different gear load outs, or level up adjustments to stats etc.
I was thinking of including a 15 pt-buy NPC version, and a 25 pt-buy PC version. Though I could build them at 20 pt-buy and then include notes somewhere on how a 25 pt-buy changes the build... Would probably be less work that way.

I had a friend who started his own online character gallery. It included dozens of character concepts and builds, covering all core classes from levels 1-20. In each case he never equipped them, because he saw equipment as being "apart from the character itself."

And you tell us that with no link? Or is it no longer active?

Here is the link. I didn't post it before because it was my understanding that it was a private gallery. I spoke with the owner though and he has graciously opened up the permissions to "public" so you all could enjoy the fruit of his labors. :D
At this time, my friend no longer plays Pathfinder, and so there are currently no plans to expand his gallery further.
I've finished my NPC version of Delia Giantbane, how do I submit it to the gallery?
From the main gallery, you click the "Public Submissions" tab/folder at the top of your screen.
In that subfolder, there should be options at the top of the screen (that don't exist elsewhere in the gallery) that allow you to upload or edit files. You may need a Microsoft account to access those functions, however.

Reminds me of my Discount Pile O Builds. Man I wish I could edit those old posts.

Hmm... I don't have the options at the top of my screen for some reason.

Are you signed into your OneDrive account? (It uses the same credentials as your Microsoft Account.) That may be a necessary step.
Yes, I'm almost always signed into my Microsoft/OneDrive account as I have a OneDrive of my own. I could just upload it there, but I'd rather upload it to yours to make it a better public resource for others.

Hey, Ravingdork, sorry to bother you but did you take down Heathcliff? I was planning on siccing him on my players but couldn't find him on the list anymore.
Yes, it had been removed, though it was not altogether deliberate. I was having trouble making updates to the file as it had become corrupted or some such thing. It got so bad I couldn't even open it reliably anymore, crashing the program every time I tried. This also occurred with two other character files. One was Bumiahma Britoris Orpheus. I don't recall the third.
Luckily, I got Heathcliff's file to open briefly while in safe mode, and I managed to copy the text to the clipboard before it crashed again. I then deleted all traces of the corrupted file from OneDrive and my computer hard drive, hoping to eliminate any conflicts.
I then pasted the unformatted text into a whole new Word document, formatted it to match my other character sheets, and attempted to reupload it (all they while hoping that this fresh start would eliminate any of the things that were causing the errors). Unfortunately, I was having connection issues at the time, and I was forced to save it to my machine rather than upload it.
Then I simply forgot about it. Sorry about that. Now that things are working again, and you've brought it to my attention, I have uploaded the new version of the file. I'm not certain if previous direct links to Heathcliff will still work, as this is a new file for the same character, but you should be able to access him from the main gallery again.
EDIT: Yep, just tested the direct link I posted earlier in this thread. It's dead as a doornail. You will have to check him out through the main gallery.

I'm still learning how the whole OneDrive system works, particularly the part that allows public uploads. I'm honestly not sure why some people are having trouble and others aren't. I was thinking you needed an account, but I was never truly certain of that.
Could some of you who have successfully uploaded characters maybe give a description of how you managed it? Perhaps that will help the rest of us understand things better.

No, problem, thanks for fixing it though! Wanted to find a real challenge for my player's swashbuckler and figured Heathcliff would be the perfect dueling opponent, especially when he drops the shield!

CHARACTER UPDATES
Both Heathecliff and Gareth Lharz have had some changes made to their equipment lists and stats in light of the new FAQ that states that the bashing shield property no longer stack with shield spikes. I also updated the character portrait for Gareth.

Ravingdork |

CHARACTER UPDATE
Pollivar Mormont, the halfing Giant Slayer and Lord of the Dance, has given up his shield, battleaxe, and Greater Weapon Specialization feat for a greataxe and the Steadfast Slayer feat.
This may not be strictly optimal*, but I believe it better fits his concept as a "giant slayer."
In short, his defense went down some, but in return, he can now deal 1d10+56 damage PER HIT against colossal enemies he fights one on one.

Aeric Blackberry |

I have uploaded one of the characters of my campaign. Originally was an NPC but now is played by one of the players.
The campaign is about an evil party uncovering the secrets and treasures of a two hundred years old dead/disappeared secret organization of demon worshipers that was created by an archwizard called Harun.
I don't know how to link it. It is in the submissions folder. Its name is "Invidiak".

Ravingdork |

Seems like an interesting concept. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.
I don't know how to link it. It is in the submissions folder. Its name is "Invidiak".
While in the OneDrive window, you right click on the file to bring up the context menu, then scroll down to "share." Selecting that will open up a dialog window with a variety of share options. I always choose "Anyone with this view link." I then copy and paste the URL that it generates.

Ravingdork |

Most of my characters are built as PCs, though I do have an NPC folder in the gallery. Is that what you were referring to?
In any case, it wouldn't take much to make them PCs. Simply increase the CR by 1 for the higher ability scores, and then 1 again for the equipment, and be aware how the extra loot might effect your players' WBL. A 10th-level PC character in my gallery, for example, should be considered CR 12 against a standard party.

Ravingdork |

I wanted to share the following with all of you so that you can all could have an indepth look at one of the newer characters.
A big thanks to Xah Doom for his tireless pursuit of accuracy.
All errors mentioned below have already been corrected.
Enjoying [Batta Wrang's] character build. I too like to come up with "off the beaten path" character concepts.Currently working on my own Summoner(Unchained) [sic] and have been looking at what you built for some tips/ideas. Mine [sic] Eidolon is more purely melee oriented. Large, multi-armed, intimidating, ground and pounder.
Thumper, "Why don't you pick on someone your own size!"
Regarding your Bat-Snake-Elemental-Dragon, I had a couple of questions.
Please let me know what you think of the new unchained summoner, particularly in regards to making your eidolon large and how it affects your dramatically reduced EP pool.
1) Where are you getting the Breath Weapon?
- I Assumed you used the Evolution Surge for 4 points,
- though if that was the case the Cone should be 30' not 60',
- and the Reflex Save s/b DC21 (1/2 level 15 = 7+4(Con)), not DC20
The breath weapon is indeed from the evolution surge spell. If you look at the character's special abilities section, under "ongoing spells" you will see that it is explicitly mentioned along with other in-the-stat-block-spell-buffs.
You are right that the cone's length is off.
The DC is based on the eidolon's hit dice, not the summoner's (12 HD as opposed to 15 levels). The listed DC is correct.
2) All your skills are short by 1 rank.
- Did you take flight at 5th level spend 4 skill ranks on Fly
- then up Fly and the other skills by 1 rank every level after?
- Did you then just ignore the other 4 skill ranks from 1st to 4th?
- Or did they go to the 4 Languages?
- Instead, if that is due to the Large -2 Dex Penalty, why is Perception short 1 point
- 15 level + 3 class = +18 Perception
The skills look correct insofar as I can tell. Below is a complete breakdown.
The summoner's skill ranks were allocated as follows:
Skill Ranks (60) Fly 15, Knowledge (arcana) 5, Knowledge (planes) 10, Ride 15, Spellcraft 15; Favored Class (summoner) +4 evolution points, +3 HP
His eidolon's skill ranks were allocated as follows:
Skill Ranks (48) Escape Artist 12, Fly 12, Perception 12, Stealth 12
Their skills reflect the final totals, including a +2 bonus from heroism, which is generally cast prior to encountering known dangers (once again, see the ongoing spell section).
The summoner's skills are as follows:
Fly
31 = 15 ranks + 3 class skill + 4 Dex + 2 heroism + 7 overland flight
Knowledge (arcana)
12 = 5 ranks + 3 class skill + 2 Int + 2 heroism
Knowledge (planes)
17 = 10 ranks + 3 class skill + 2 Int + 2 heroism
Ride
38 = 15 ranks + 3 class skill + 4 Dex + 2 heroism + 6 skill focus + 8 skilled evolution (ride)
Spellcraft
22 = 15 ranks + 3 class skill + 2 Int + 2 heroism
The eidolon's skills, on the other hand, are as follows:
Escape Artist
22 = 12 ranks + 3 class skill + 5 Dex + 2 heroism
Fly
28 = 12 ranks + 3 class skill + 5 Dex + 8 maneuverability + 2 heroism - 2 size
Perception
17 = 12 ranks + 3 class skill + 2 heroism (- 4 when wearing goggles, not listed)
Stealth
18 = 12 ranks + 3 class skill + 5 Dex + 2 heroism - 4 size
3) Your AC shows +3 Dex
- Your Dex is 20(+5)
That is an error. Thank you for finding it.
4) Initiative +4 instead of +5?
- Is that due to Large -2 Dex penalty?
No, it appears to be another error.
5) Evolution Points appear to be one off, thought maybe you didn't spend them all, that said there would be no need to take the 2nd Extra Evolution feat then.
- 1 Claws
- 1 Imp Damage
- 1 Magic Attack
- 1 Mount
- 2 Energy Attack (Elec)
- 3 Flight +60'
- 4 Limbs (Legs) x2
- 4 Large
-----
-17
- You should have 18 Evolution Points
- 12 (level) + 3 (1/2 Elf 4,8,12) + 2 (Extra Evolution x2) +1 (4th level Elemental Base)
You are missing the skilled (ride) evolution taken by the summoner via the Aspect class ability.
The EP are correct insofar as I can tell.
Very well written build!Went with a private message, as I am not here to criticize, just clarify as I attempt my first Eidolon build.
If you could please let me know what or if I am missing anything.
Much appreciated!
Thank you [sic]
Thank you very much for your kind comments and thorough investigations! Though people are often happy to point out errors, very rarely are they so thorough! I have double checked everything you mentioned (and some things that you hadn't) and have corrected all apparent errors.
I really don't mind public auditing of my characters. It furthers the thread's post count and allows others to see how things work.

I would finish his build as someone who always wins initiative and finishes the fight in the first round. That's supposed to be his whole schtick pretty much.
The concept was actually put together by a friend of mine years ago, and originated in D&D/Forgotten Realms v3.5, where he actually had levels of the Mage Killer prestige class. He was also known for using magical gems and for having crazy high saving throws.
He was a holy terror in our games back in the day precisely because he would often go first and then end an encounter with an effective save or die spell in the first round (his favorite being Glass Strike, which is basically flesh to stone, but turns the subject to glass). On the rare occasions he didn't go first, he would just shrug off enemy spells and attacks before winning on his turn anyways.

Thanks.
Adin Lir.
What additional traits did she pick up aside from the magical knack: wizard and reactionary? Also, as a Mystic Theurge, is there any problem with not choosing to prepare spells from your other spell list and just choose straight from each list? Or would that be a waste of not using some nice ability I'm failing to see?

Ravingdork |

You and my friend seem to enjoy the same characters; he made that one too.
Adin Lir didn't pick up any additional traits. The feat is what allows her to have traits AT ALL.
If a character has traits without said feat, I list it in the file name, as I do with all optional rules. As written, it is assumed she would be used in a game where traits were not given freely. In a game with traits by default, I would recommend adding two additional traits, or switching out the feat.
It is generally beneficial for a wizard to leave a few spell slots open for the unexpected, particularly if said wizard can prepare new spells in the open slots quickly. I would not, however, ever recommend leaving an entire spell list empty. Doing so makes you worse off than a typical full spellcaster in just about every way and kind of defeats the purpose of being a mystic theurge in the first place.

characters with spells just come off more interesting to me than martials.
My question was not worded properly but I appreciate the advice. The skinny is Hero Lab does not calculate the preparing of a spell from the either spell list (Cleric, Wizard, vice versa) at a higher level. There are adjustments you can make to combine lists but that's it. An example, if I wanted to select the spell Shield when selecting my cleric spells it should fill a 2nd level spell slot. Hero Lab doesn't support that yet and instead would come in as a 1st level spot on the cleric list.
Hopefully that's more clear. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gimping myself by electing to stick to their respective lists when selecting spells for Cleric and Wizard.

Thanks to the new Dispel Focus feat from the newly released Monster Summoner's Handbook, the mighty Sela Kurn (mythic variant) is now an even more powerful dispeller.
(The Dispel Focus feat grants a +2 bonus to all caster level checks made to dispel, which doubles due to Spell Perfection. Sela now possesses a +32 dispel modifier at only level 15!)

Hello Ravingdork, i just want to say nice stuff!
Do you have (not already saw that all) goblin characters in / Do you plan to create some?
Grunk and Sojo are both goblins.
Gudruun, the Master of Chains, has always felt as though he were a hobgoblin in a human's body.
I currently have no plans to make more goblinoid characters, but since I make characters as inspiration strikes, more could appear at any time. You are also welcome to submit your own to the Character Gallery's public archive.

As if Spell Perfection wasn't strong enough as-is!

I just realized that the illusionist, Ravendark, was being shorted two bonus wizard feats, so he now has the Solid Shadows (+20% realness to any illusion/shadow spell) and Versatile Summon Monster: Dark (adds the Dark template rather than the Celestial/Fiendish templates to summoned monsters) feats. Both are from the Monster Summoner's Handbook.
He is now capable of creating shadow conjurations/evocations that are 80% real even when disbelieved, giving him a great deal of versatility. His dark summons will all have darkvision, low-light vision, SR, cold/electricity resistance, and perpetual concealment of 20% when not in bright light (50% if they already have concealment from another source).

Yep! They could certainly use more feats like Dazing Assault.

Ooh, I like Versatile Summons.
But yeah, 15th level feats should be pretty powerful. Agreed there

Ravingdork |

I rearranged Sela's feats a little more. Gave up Spell Focus and Varisian Tattoo for Greater Dispel Focus (can't believe I overlooked that on the first pass through the new book). Rounded him out with the Knowledge is Power arcane discovery, giving him a much needed +10 bonus to his CMB, CMD, and to Strength checks made to break and lift things.
Not only can he disarm people and break down doors like a boss, he now has a dispel modifier high enough to dispel a CL 24 effect on a roll of a 1. :D
Pretty cool for an old geezer.

Bah! I'm an idiot. Ravendark possesses the Shadowcaster archetype and as such doesn't get those two feats after all. :(
The archetype wasn't listed on his sheet for some reason, even though he clearly has the abilities from it.
I've removed Versatile Summon Monster since her never really summoned monsters anyways. Rather than give up Solid Shadows, I've given up Greater Spell Focus in illusion.
His DCs are slightly lower now, but thanks to his new Solid Shadows feat and Shadowcaster class ability, he can generate shadow illusions that are 100% real, making him stand out amongst shadowcasters everywhere.

Save or not, 100% real? That's pretty solid if I do say so.
It reminds me of Shadowcraft Mages builds from 3.5 which could make illusions that were more than 100% real (iirc 160% was the highest I've seen).
He could get up to 120% if he had a metamagic rod of Solid Shadows and was casting Shades.
I don't personally think you can get more real than real though.
