I love the character, the theme is super great! I'm just a little disappointed with some of the new stuff :( Greater Darkness infusion feels like it should be 3 burn to me since it affects your allies and you as well as your enemies (meaning it's super situational and can even be detrimental) and only lasting one turn. That means to use it and remain stealthy (which is the theme and is entirely ruined by gather power being "extremely loud and visible") you have to accept at least one point of burn per round until level 14 and even then it can't be extended without burn. Also Singularity offering a save (making it 1/8th your blast damage on a save with physical?) feels weak.

The latter still feels fitting since Sin has negative energy, but while loving the flavor of darkness, at its cost I feel it just can't fit in well :(

Greater eyes of the void grants see in darkness, meaning that darkness-focused chaokineticists who prioritize it can always see in deeper darkness by the time they can create it (and indeed, Sin does so). As for infusion costs vis-a-vis specialization, remember that you only get the infusion at level 13, so not being able to use it without gathering only applies at level 13.

That's one of the reasons why I made her a chaotic evil b%&!%--the chaokineticist isn't really a great team player as far as classes go. Not unless you hang out with a lot of undead, see in darkness fiends, or other chaokineticists.

Mark, how is void healer supposed to work on undead anyways? They're supposed to be immune to nonlethal damage. Is the chaokineticist really going to be stuck with the medical bill every time? If the chaokineticist also happens to be an undead (overwhelming soul presumably), how on earth can they use the wild talent at all?

Do you have a blank sheet for use when making characters? I might make a goblin kiniticest I talked about with Mark briefly.

I have so many characters now, it's usually faster for me to load one of them up and start changing things.

However, there is a template in the gallery, within the "roleplaying tools" folder. You'll need Microsoft Word to edit it. It has several preset styles which I've put together specifically to make it easier on people who wish to mimic my style of character sheet. When in doubt on how something is to be formatted, simply reference the official published stat blocks in the Bestiaries and elsewhere.

I think the only deliberate deviation in my sheets over the published stat blocks is that I put the languages near the top of the stat block (next to Perception, Initiative, and other encounter-starter relevant stats) and have added an encumbrance line underneath the character gear.

Open Office will also work. It's what I use and all I did was download the file and used Open Office without any problems.

Can't stand Open Office personally. Everyone keeps touting how it works so well with Microsoft documents. Any time someone shared one with me, it always got butchered in the transition.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Or perhaps my graphic designer's eye catches the numerous conversion bugs that the laymans' eyes miss. Who knows? Anyways, I prefer Microsoft Word.

Tried it for open office, but having trouble with a picture and the format. :(

I'm not sure if Microsoft Word can open an Office document correctly, but I know Office can open a Word document just fine.

Working on the Kirom Lancaster (Duelist) build, I am going for nearly this setup except that I am hoping to be the party scout as well.

I was looking at going first lvl ranger instead in order to get stealth as a class skill + favored enemy can't hurt. One cool thing I noticed was that the Divine Tracker archtype replaces wild empathy(useless to me) for a free improved unarmed strike feat so long as unarmed strike is my deitys favored weapon! Beyond this I figure take the remaining 5 levels in fighter(weapon master archtype) still gets me all the important bits.

I am still a relatively new player to all this so if someone could please double check this for me it would be greatly appreciated!

I recall you wondering about methods of boosting caster level awhile back and I came across the rules for ley lines. Not sure if it can suit your needs much as you need to stay within 100 ft. of the ley line, but it could potentially give up to a +5 boost to caster level for spells and spell-like abilities. Combine that with the ioun stone and a bead of karma (along with a UMD check to activate the bead for non-divine casters) and you could potentially have a +10 increase to your caster level!

Granted, it is only for 10 minutes and only while within range of the ley line, but if you've got a character that tends to sit in his or her lair a lot... this might be right up their alley!

I was thinking of something similar when I first read about leylines. It could be incredibly useful for things like casting a permanency spell that would normally be beyond your means--you know, things that continue to benefit you even after you've left the leyline.

After looking at Sin (your chaokineticist), something has been bothering me and I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

Sin has an attack bonus of +21 with her blast at 16th level. Since she has a base attack of +12, a Dexterity of 24 (+7) and Weapon Focus (kinetic blast) (+1), should she not have a total of +20? What am I missing?

Probably point-blank shot. Since he doesn't have extended range all attacks will have to be within the 30' range.

I thought so too, but then her kinetic blade attack bonus should be 1 lower, right?

While it would intuitively make sense for kinetic blade/whip to not get the bonus, technically the 'weapon' we are giving the bonus to is the kinetic blast. So, I think technically it does still get it. But I could be wrong.

EDIT: Oh wait, I figured it out. It is the +1 bonus from level 15 expanded element. By picking void both times he gets a +1 to attacks and damage. So his ranged attacks should actually be +22 when within 30'.

If he's often called in why is he still 1st level? He must not succeed and earn XP very often...

Just refreshing.

Since this is a treasure trove, shouldn't it be an X?

I can't tell if that's sincerity or sarcasm. I do enjoy them to be sure. I worry that, until we get more options, they are all going to come out very similarly though, so you might not see too many more.

In any case, I think I have all of them made up except for one. Still gotta' do a telekineticist soon.

Slithery D wrote:

That's out of necessity. All Pathfinder Society characters start at level one. If I were to make a higher level PFS character, no one would be able to use it, which defeats the purpose.

It's also the reason why you don't see many 1st-level PFS characters in my gallery. Most concepts are already pretty well covered by the premades--you can only do so much with one level.

It's because of that, that the only PFS characters that make it into the gallery are, well, my own; the ones I actually intend to play in Society.

Rogar Stonebow wrote:

We can do little ones.

x

And big ones.

X

And bigger ones.

And big bold ones.

But sadly, we can't do big red ones. The best treasures always have big red ones marking their place on the treasure maps.

That's why people stumble in here from time to time. There's no maps with big red marks. Just word of mouth.

Your mouth is our big red X.

Had a good idea for a Hydro/Geo Kineticist Oread that is reflavored to Coral instead of stone. Too bad you can't breathe underwater until level 10...

Yeah, it always struck me as odd that the hydrokineticist, a being whose powers are focused around elemental water, doesn't get the ability to swim and breathe underwater efficiently until late in the game.

Meanwhile, level one Witches can sleep underwater just fine...

EDIT: Not an Oread, but a decent Coral Kineticist picture.

Aerokinetic laughs at your hydrokinetic.

Air Shroud

Element(s) air; Type utility (Sp); Level 1; Burn 0

You are always surrounded by air, as air bubble. As a standard action, you can accept 1 point of burn to extend the effect to a number of additional creatures equal to your Constitution modifier for 1 minute per kineticist level you possess.

Air Bubble wrote:
Air bubble creates a small pocket of breathable air that surrounds the touched creature’s head or the touched object. The air bubble allows the creature touched to breathe underwater or in similar airless environments, or protects the object touched from water damage. A firearm within an air bubble can be loaded—assuming the black powder comes from a powder horn, a cartridge, or some other airtight protective device—and fired. When shooting such a firearm underwater, the shot still takes the standard –2 penalty on attack rolls for every 5 feet of water the bullet passes through, in addition to normal penalties due to range. If a firearm within the air bubble explodes, the explosion occurs normally.

First off, I'm a fan of the Character Emporium. My question is this, how did Riko Mycen get the use of a longsword and the Rune domain? Inquisitor's don't get longswords and any deity that I've seen with the Rune domain doesn't have a longsword as a favored weapon.

Grand Lodge

Pathfinder Companion Subscriber

I can't seem to access Riko Mycen to help answer that.

Pathfinder Maps, Pawns Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

Glad you like it, Glomgnar! The characters in the gallery aren't usually tied to the Pathfinder Campaign Setting (though some clearly are). Riko is proficient with the longsword because it is the favored weapon of his deity. Clearly it's a deity that has both the Rune domain and favored weapon longsword. :P

BBT, what are you getting when it doesn't work?

Grand Lodge

The Fool's Court has been down for over a year. I guess you didn't see my previous announcements on the matter. The services I used to host the Fool's Court expired a long time ago and I didn't bother to renew it since Microsoft Onedrive offered a better service (for free!) that also allowed me to have all of the characters and tools in one easy to reach location.

You should be using the "master link" posted at the end of the first post. I am including it below as well for your convenience:

MASTER LINK Everybody should be using this link!

This is the (once) new location of ALL of my galleries' resources. I still post individual links from time to time, but they all lead back to the Microsoft OneDrive files, not to the Fool's Court. Everything in the Fool's Court, if it works at all, would be woefully out of date anyways.

I hope that helps. Please spread the word. This kind of mistake happens WAY too often.

They should all be 1st-level with 150gp starting funds worth of gear (all of which is PFS legal as far as I know).

Also noticed that your Darkness infusions are listed as Utility.

I generally list abbreviation supercripts on spell lists, but I don't usually do the same for equipment and feats. I tried adding them to the other character sheet components (even things like races, classes, and archetypes, but it just made the sheet look noisy and crowded. So I decided to draw the line at spells, which a given character generally has more of anyways (making it harder to learn/remember what each one does, unlike feats and other abilities which are less plentiful and more frequently used).

Looks good, though you may want to add a wild talent level filter. How did you set it up like that anyways? I would love to be able to do that.

Can't really explain how I did it (that would take more characters than I can fit in a post), but you can probably figure most of it out pretty easily, just right-click on the "Sheet" tab at the bottom and "Unhide" the hidden tabs where I created the databases/tables.

Anyhows, what do you mean by "wild talent level filter"?

Update: LATEST VERSION.

I made sure you could see the burn, as well as separated the Form and Substance. Unfortunately, I was editing in my Excel, not Online, so it's a new url. I'll work online for any further changes to avoid needing new links.

Sphynx wrote:

I was referring to the level of the wild talents.

Eruption is a level 3 form infusion, for example. Being able to filter and sort by level would go a long ways towards helping people pick their wild talents at specific levels.

Your "kineticist level" filter comes real close, but a player making a kineticist needs to know the level of the individual wild talents so that he can more easily build a progression.

EDIT: I noticed you are including burn costs now. That's cool. If you put their level there too, then that should do the trick.
