Some quick googling says it's an old Mayan dialect and translates to...

Hail! Hail! Share soul on pain of darkness waits dreaming not us.

So... liberally translated...

Hey! Hey! Spill your guts or we'll get Cthulhu to do it!

AHOY MATIES...and future chum for weresharks!

So happy FGG has officially announced this devious and deadly COMBO-STRIKE!

I can't thank Lou, Greg, Bill, BlondeFrog and the ENTIRE FGG team enough for a timely and very much appreciated casting of true resurrection on Razor Coast.

Re-reading the manuscript and Lou, Daigle, Tim and Ling's AMAZING development of the setting has really brought my zest for pure unadulterated adventure back to the fore, and I'm looking forward to running this puppy again for as many human souls as possible once its released.

Being back in Hawaii again, and in a MUCH happier/healthier mental place has brought back all the joy of this project. Pele, Dajobas, Harthagoa, and all the many other insidious forces that inhabit the coast seem to be waiting around every corner here in Hawaii. Can't wait to unleash them on some players again soon.

I can't share too much - but from the scuttlebutt, the plans for the kickstarter are INSANE!

And thankfully, you don't have to take my word for it - or take my word in the gaming industry for ANYTHING ever again, as the entire project is in far far more capable hands than these slimy tentacles I use for appendages for these days.

It feels good to be a writer/designer again - this is where I belong, and rest assured anything I would put my smoking quill to ever again would be handled soley by Paizo, FGG or some other top notch masters of the industry.

Thanks again to Greg, Bill, Rachel, the whole FGG team, Tim, Adam, John Ling, and of course...the heroic savior of all the dread evil of the Razor Coast...LOU AGRESTA. A better friend is impossible to find.

Hope you all enjoy RC...finally...at LONG LAST! :-)

Evilgasm. Seriously. If this one's a success, any chance for Ebon Shroud as well? Perhaps a DARK imprint for FGG?

One may dream...

If Bill, Greg and Logue want Ebon Shroud to happen, I'm game.

There is an awful lot of dark nastiness in that one, and to be honest, it probably shoudln't see the light of day. If there's a wish to see it, however, perhaps it should slither into the daylight...

But I want a copy of Razor Coast as a perk.

I NEVER plan on making any promises about ANYTHING ever again...but yeah...I'm gonna email you this weekend with some awful awful ideas for Ebon Shroud which I'm sure you'll make better.

Even though I'm still kinda pissed at Nic and how he handled the situation back in the day! :(
I understand your frustration at that along with everyone who had preordered. However, Nick has been very open as to his culpability and has done everything he could to make things right. Many other people have jumped in to help with that very thing, so let's let this resurrection of the book finally bury all the hard feelings about it. A great part of this KS is to make good on everything. We hope you will find the KS to your liking and if you don't and have an existing preorder you're still going to receive the book in a much-expanded form. I think Nick has earned some forgiveness and hope this can erase any lingering hard feelings over things we can't change with better things that we can deliver! :-)

ALSO!

Let me take this excellent opportunity to apologize again to all those who were dealt a bad turn by Sinister. I am sooooo happy I will NEVER try my hand at publishing again and stick to creating content, and I am deeply sorry for all the agony and frustration my long and painful misadventure caused.

I hope the arrangements made with FGG will help to repair the damage I caused and that all you fine gamers who put your trust in me (and who I consequently let down) can breath a sigh of relief and restore some of the faith in our excellent shared hobby that I harmed.

FGG has an impeccable track record as does everyone involved with this relaunching of Razor Coast, and perhaps most importantly, I have kept myself as far away from the logistics of this as humanly possible and resorted to designer/writer...a role I belong in...

Now put me back in my cave and whip me until I scribble more adventures in my own blood from my tattered fingertips while gibbering pure unwholesomeness from the pit of smoking evil I use for a mouth.

For me, a paid back pre-orderer, I am just so happy that RC is going to make it out! I will be in the KS with great big bells on, FGG produce the greatest stuff so I can't wait to see what the KS has. My wallet needs a bigger bashing.
Welcome back Nic

This, sir, makes me a very happy gamer. You have a rare talent when it comes to game design, and the gaming world is much richer with you in it. I know I'll keep buying anything that has the name Nicolas Logue on the cover (or in the credits).

And hey, in the end we get what sounds like an even cooler Razor Coast. :)

Wrath of the Righteous...oh how sweet that would be. To think of the demonic villains the twisted mind of Nicolas Logue could conjure forth from the Abyss...

Nick, so good to have you back!!!
I really hope to read some new stuff from you in the near future.

You're awesome, Nick! And thank the good Lord you're human too - just like all of us, we make mistakes. Just glad you "manned up" and apologized. Now let's move forward with some Razor Coast gaming goodness, Logue-style!!

Nick, great to have you back in writing. Looking forward to more awesomeness. Sinister started with great ideas (the small indulgences pdfs for example), promising material (RC, ES, the AGC see what success Wolfgang Baur had with a similar book), and great visuals (the art & layout of the RC preview where great, and the sinister site design was awesome).

So, good of you to back out of logistics the part in that Sinister failed. But don't forget your other strengths apart from but supplemented by your writing skills.

Frogs, I hope you revive the Sinister site's design and art and previews for the Kickstarter. And please keep the RC layout and art, i find it better than the standard NG layouts. The RC visuals where top notch...

I would love to see Nic let loose on Darkmoon Vale again: that was top work and a module might be a nice forum to feel his way back in to PFRPG.

Nic, have you released anything for PF yet? I know Sinister was originally all 3.5...

You are a great designer Nick. I have worked in all of your dungeon adventures into my ongoing Razor Coast Campaign (I am running it based on your 40 or so pagea of pre pre draft....and I threw in some buried Old Ones etc.) oh and one of your preview characters from Ebon Shroud has also made her way to the coast to wreck some vampiric badness. Keep writing and I will keep running it.

Sounds like Lou Agresta had a very large share in getting this done. Maybe it's more like LOUgue-style.

Wait. Nicolagresta Lougue. Wow. There's an amalgamation that thrills to no end yet terrifies beyond the capacity for all rational thought.

How does Imediate action work? Does the action have to be labeled as an Imediate action? An example: featherfall. Sinereo: My player has the deflect arrow feat. He also is wielding a greatsword (a two handed weapon). He was attacked with a ranged weapon. He tryed to use an imediate action to remove his hand from his weapon. My response, he could not do that; imediate action does not work that way. His response, I am changing the rules.

While i, too, love nick's work, i was less excited about Razor coast than the science fiction setting, and my memory of what it was called fails me.

what are the chances of that becoming reality? perhaps as one of those extra things as the kickstarted goes way way beyond what is being requested. perhaps way way way way beyond

i will gladly pay for razor coast today, to get the scince fiction setting tomorrow.

Sovereign Court Contributor

@Donald -- Nick turned that setting over to me, and I have it all. The art that was made too. It requires more development and writing, though.

I'd actually started some conversations with an Astrosynthesis map mavin and an very interesting artist who does the coolest planet art.

It also needs a name change. It was originally "Known Universe" but that's taken and was always a placeholder. I've been toying around with "Far Horizons"... But that's just a noodle.

Finally I think it probably needs to come out in more than one system (say Traveler and a Savage Worlds flavor?) or be part of a Pathfinder Future. Which, again, requires further writing and conversion.

Who knows, maybe if the Razor Coast kickstarter is popular and someone *cough*FGG*cough* wants to try it, a kickstarter that included:

1. Finish the Far Horizons (formerly the Known Universe Gazetteer) setting
2. Deliver a Pathfinder Future core rule book
3. A standalone adventure (like the Cold Black book Nick and I were going to write).
4. An Adventure Path in the Far Horizons to set the whole setting aflame

might be worth trying? It's hard to say, Donald, the demand for sci-fi is simply less.

Besides, Ebon Shroud is probably next highest in demand if Razor Coast funds successfully.

My guess? The more Razor Coast exceeds its minimum funding, the more likely developing and finishing former Sinister properties becomes. No matter who does it. But that's just my guess.

Thank You Mr. Agresta,

I agree that the mechanics set is problematic, there being so few good ones, and licensing issues, etc., etc.

What are the chances that these sorts of projects (razor coast, far horizons, ebon shroud) be system neutrual?

I am always on the look out for good material to port into some of my favorite systems.

That would be awesome. You can count me in; I just hope there are enough other sci-fi fans around here to make it do-able.

It is a very ambitious project, but I suppose that's the joy of kickstarter stretch goals - you can start off small and expand if the demand is there.

Would the setting book be system neutral to start with?

Sovereign Court Contributor

@Donald - Well, Razor Coast won't be system neutral, that's certain. It was written in 3.5, but it's coming out in Pathfinder and Swords & Wizardry. I imagine -- but who knows? -- the same goes for Ebon Shroud. It's really hard to do adventure paths, system neutral.

@Amethal -- glad you like the notion. Razor Coast first, though. It's taking up all my attention, and it deserves my undivided attention. :)
That said, the Far Horizons setting is finished but it was written in d20 Future. I suppose we could strip out all the crunch and render it system neutral, but wouldn't it be better to provide the crunch for the top most popular sci-fi systems?

im not sure what the most popular sci-fi system is. i play star wars saga edtion. i have d20 future, but havent played it. I have a few of the old school sci-fi: traveler (little black book edition), star frontiers, and Space Opera.

Grand Lodge

Can someone describe what Ebon Shroud is? I tried googling but, of course, the old website is down. Whatever it is, it does sound interesting, based on the comments.

Razor Coast

Under the heat of the salted sun, along a pirate-riddled coast bloated fat with forgotten riches and forbidden secrets, the subjugation of the native tribes awakens long banished horrors. Horrors whose deadly plans threaten not only Port Shaw -- the corrupt fingerhold of a distant and decadent civilization -- but existence, itself.
