I would wager than any actual release would have to change the identity of the daddy.
Then again, if all you say is that they are the spawn of Demogorgon, maybe not. After all, the name itself is NOT WotC's IP, only the imagery of Demogorgon as having two mandril heads sprouting from twin snake-like necks, with arms ending in long tentacles, etc.
If you just say "Demogorgon" and let the GM fill in those blanks, it would still be perfectly acceptable.
Exactly.

With a Kickstarter, how would we who haven't requested our preorder money back be handled?
Hey Justin, I'm sorry to say I cannot answer that at this time.
However, I can commit to you that I will not be involved in ANY solution to the publishing of Razor Coast that does not involve folks who pre-ordered (and didn't request a refund) getting a copy.
I'm pretty confident Nick feels exactly the same.

This is what concerns me as one of the people who preordered and never asked for a refund, hoping that it might see the light of day eventually.
I wouldn't mind a Kickstarter and I'd most likely throw more money at the project than I have already with the preorder (depending on what the Kickstarter offers, of course), but I'd be a bit miffed if my preorder didn't factor in somehow.
I'll wait and see what happens, but so far my gut feeling is that I'm in if a Kickstarter does kick off.
Oh, and to answer the original question, I'd go with E and D in that order.

Hey all,
If I could get Razor Coast out (that's still a BIG if - no promises), what would you say is ok for me to leave out?
I'm assuming if its even possible that not everything can fit. So would it be:
A. Less art, if that's what it takes.
Just get me my book!B. Lou, pass on your last edit. I'll deal with some typos.
Just get me my book!C. If you have to, skimp on a map or two. I can draw my own.
Just get me my book, already!D. I don't need my art in color. B&W is just fine.
E. Don't bother updating the Indulgences, creating a player's guide, etc. etc. Just get me my @#$%&# book!
F. Razor Coast? What's that?
G. At this point, Lou, stick Razor Coast where the sun don't shine.
What do you think?
A, C, D, E.
Happy to have kept my preorder standing.

Although the delays with this have left a bad taste in folks mouth, I'd love to see an expansion scenario as a stretch goal. I was a patron of Blood of the Gorgon and have never had a problem with Nick's writing. RC is pretty large on its own, but it would be nice to see a sequel or prequel scenario if the Kickstarter does well enough.
High five from another BotG patron.

I think the only way you could make undead cannibal pygmies any creepier would be if they were undead cannibal halflings.

Oh yeah?
How's that for creepier?

I had no prior involvement and only minimal knowledge of Razor Coast, but THIS:
undead cannibal pygmies. And their self-mutilating totems. And cookpots. And the shrunken heads. And septum fetishes.
... I may not be able to resist. Only ninjas in the cookpot could make this better.

As an original preorder from Sinister Adventures guy, I would be fine having a PDF of whatever is available right now in any condition!
I guess I would say that my choice is something not listed. I'd prefer to have it play tested thoroughly and then edited on more.
I'm so glad RC is close to living again!!

D, with a side of E and A
I still have the draft from Nick (with your great assistance) almost 3 years ago, so I'd most like something with any corrections and maps and some art (b/w, if that's what is necessary), preferably a print copy. If the Indulgences get updated, great, but it's down the list compared to the other items I listed IMO.

I had never heard of this until a thread here piqued my curiosity. Needless to say, I never preordered, but I would definitely be in for a kickstarter. Don't know how much I can put in with the holidays coming soon, but I would definitely be in for at least a PDF, probably a hard copy.

They keep getting struck down. :(
Maybe the adventurers will find the corpse of a man who once wore an orange tuxedo, but not until they deal with undead pygmie cannibals wearing orange top hats, another with the shoes, etc.
Probably get struck down. I tell you, those authors are soooo serious about their "tour de force". Geesh. :)

Hey Callous Jack,
I'll tackle your questions one at a time:
1. Indulgences are short support pieces that came out for Razor Coast in the 3.5 system. They included player-centric pieces -- one titled "The Art of the Duel" -- was very popular. Also pieces on the Shark God Dajobas, Eater of Worlds, short adventures by Richard Pett, Greg Vaughan and others, an article on Underwater Adventuring by Wolfgang Baur...etc., etc. There were 8 all told, averaging 5-7 pages each -- about the length of a SGG piece. Originally sold as PDF only. Top notch art.

I have no idea which I would chose (a non-diehard pre-orderer) but I would leap at the chance to finally get it!
Maybe the extras (E) and having them available later. Second would be another edit if 2 of you have already gone through it, heck give drafts to the pre-orderer diehards most fans are so happy to help on the editing and game math!

F Sorta know the story, but not what the actual book was going to be about. Can I hear the pitch?
A mega-adventure/sandbox location for character level 5+ (I think) lots of locations with things going on, lots of strange connections and interesting hooks. How it plays out just depends on which threads your players pick up and where they choose to go.
Based on a coastal location: pirates+hawaiian-style tribes (Tulita)+terrible things in the deep+regular folk.
Two gods so far: Dajobas, Devourer of Worlds (the kind of god who turns his followers into weresharks with sharks teeth jutting out of their flesh); and Pele, NSFW Fire Goddess.
Check out the Indulgences (linked in this thread somewhere) for more of a taste.

Very excited to see RC slouching towards release. My thoughts -
1. Faster is better.
2. Art is mandatory for NPCs and monsters, it helps PCs engage with them. Black & white is OK, though. Art for scenery and "battle scenes" and whatnot isn't needed. As a DM I judge art by "am I going to show this to PCs again and again or not?"
3. Definitely probably should get a re-look in light of Skull & Shackles having come out since then. There may be accidental duplication/inconsistency now that Paizo's treated relevant subjects.
I don't know you'll have to skimp on art/maps if you Kickstarter it, I bet it'll make plenty of art money. It's probably more time on text spent vs release date.
I wouldn't worry about the Indulgences; in fact I'd release them just in their current state one by one for free as a promo lead-up to the RC release. (I paid for them myself, I don't mind them getting released for free 5 yrs later)
