Dear Diary,

Today I tried to eat a plate of leftover spaghetti using only a spoon. Results disappointing. Must get forks.

I swear that Aberzombie just caused my Mac to glitch.

I think it did the same double take that I did.
One must remember to NEVER read the last post first in this thread! :)

Thursday. So close to the end of the week, and yet so far,...

:(

That saying has two associations for me:

One: When I was a kid, I used to sit on the floor at the coffee table with snacks in the evening, it always used to drive my crazy if my dad would put his feet up on the table by where I was eating. If I pointed it out to him, he would tell me, "Ahh. You are experiencing the agony of defeat."

Two: I am known to tell people, when I am winning at a game of some kind, to "Never underestimate my ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory," as I have a history of losing all manner of games after obtaining a sizable lead.

Oh, good.

I thought that was just me. ;P

That sounds good.
Although I prefer the sweet reds myself.

Or Hard Cider.
Cider is good.

It's Thursday and I still have my freedom! Time to finish what errands I did not do yesterday.

Two ant nests must go. New gas can and gasoline.

Packing bags for Amazon.com. I have more books and maybe some CDs to sell. Hush on the CDs for now.

I need that back support for the shelf. No, I will not move the comics to the other side of the shelf. They will stay where they are. More trash and old magazines to throw out.

I did I say I need monkeys. No, now I did.

Forgot the new long box yesterday. Another trip to the comic book store.

I think I will do a write up of Emma Frost, the White Queen as a split-class Cleric/Psionist-type. I need an evil b*$#&y goddess from a published Pathfinder sources as her patron. Any suggestions?

Angry Orchard is becoming my new favorite. Their Apple Ginger whets the parched palette. I rarely drink at home and was saving them for a grill-out this Saturday, but I got tired of soda, water, and kool-aid so I busted out a pair of bottles last night and they had an emergency evac down my esophagus.

It's also cheaper than Strongbow by at least $2.50 a sixer here. Appeals to my frugal nature.

Those russian girls can be grumpy sometimes, but at least you have a tart on standby.

Does your wife know you have company?

But I do endorse the kitchen table for a little variety.

If I say it enough times, I'll start believing it again, right?

I only do that when I need to shake loose obsessive, unproductive thoughts. :) Sometimes it even works.

And thanks for the sympathy. I have hope that things will improve, and if not, my resume's up-to-date and I'm actively scouting for new jobs.

Well, the day ended with a bit of amusement.

This would really be more appropriate for a ToP post, but here it is:
So, my usual work attire in summer consists of the usual undergarments, pants, a sleeveless top, and a short-sleeved jacket or cardigan. When I leave for the evening, I usually take the jacket off before I get in my car. Today, I broke tradition and wore just a short sleeved blouse instead of the sleeveless top/jacket combo.

And yeah, I got about three buttons undone before I realized I was about to strip down to my bra in the parking lot at work. *sigh*

Oh, I normally do like my job. We're just stuck in reorganization limbo right now, and I'm caught between $CURRENTBOSS and $FUTUREBOSS in a weird passive aggressive power struggle, and it's getting to me. Things should improve after the reorg is final, but gods only know when that will be.

Yesss, my game went quite well. The pair went on a boar hunt then ambushed the creatures guarding the Moon-radishes.

They seemed to have fun even if I did have to explain to them what the d8 looked like and which was the d20.

It's cool that you're teaching them how to play.
