The Mad Whore is an excellent name for a ship.

Liberty's Edge

The name of our vessel is The Sudden Departure.

La Muerte Barco was a close second.

My druid captain will be turning the captain's quarters into a little grove. Shallow-rooted fruit trees, berry bushes, and a vegetable garden. Ivy on the walls.

The only female member of our crew is a bard, and our leader - or at least our 'face', so we named her captain. It was decided that whenever we took a ship, if it surrendered, we would only take its cargo and its captain for ransom - ship's officers and crew would be allowed to sail on with their lives and their ship. If they fought us, there would be no quarter granted. Our hopes are that word will get out and crews might mutiny once they see us coming rather than risk life and limb.

As such, and as a wink and a nod to the ship's original name, the ship has been christened the 'Maiden's Promise'. We also started rumors during the spread of infamy that she was a maiden in fact as well as name, keeping herself for the one man who could conquer her heart.

This is a rumor that is very, very untrue. Exhaustingly untrue at times.

After much debate, we went with the Stirge.

Can't wait to see what my players come up with...

"Harrigan's Folly"

Cuz we're ballsy.

they wanted to go with "Gravity" first... (no escaping it^^) but, seemed a bit too academical and no chararcter had a scholarly background

For now, they settled on "Last Kiss"

But a ship-change is due to occur, so...

The Hurricane's Herald, although I wanted The Lollipop.

It's a good ship.

I like that.

Looks like we might be exchanging ships from the (former) Man's Promise to the Thresher now...

HMS Cock Robin!

And they'll only hire ginger-headed crew members.

We went with "Charon's Wake"

Seawitch

Rogue's Folly. In memory of the party member that thought diving for silver in combat was a good idea, and that fighting lacedons underwater would work out for her.

Indifferent Vengeance - with a shrugging Jester as a figurehead!

The Bloody Promise.

Scarab Sages

Stinging Spray

(After a lot of discussion of using a name of a Ship/Mind from the Culture series, with Meatf***er being my preferred option...)

http://nift.firedrake.org/The_Fleet.htm has a bunch of weird names for ships :p

The Sodomite

They also decide to name teir next ships:

-The Sadomaso

-The Lurking Hemorroide

Humbly,
Yawar

PSD: my players are sick.

My PC's named their ship the Blood Hour in memory of all the horrible things that happened to them aboard the Wormwood.

Shadow Lodge

Our party has named their vessel The Instigator under the command of Captain Scrappy Jack. You don't want none? They're still gonna start some. They have installed an alligator figurehead.

We've not even begun our campaign, but I think my Ulfen Barbarian will end up Captain, and if the rest of the party can't come up with something they like better then I'll name her The Looter Scooter

I'm also partial to: Besmaras 'Cold Sore'
Also:
The Pride of No One

It's Our Boat, B!&+#!.

The Wangering Giant was a close second.

"No one you know" would be a fun name. That's what it reads on the side of Cher's tour bus. Maybe Madonna or someone similarlly ridiculously famous.

Poor Bastards has my vote in our upcoming campaign. Though the HMS Cock Robin got a chuckle out of me, so +1 there. :-) (Edit: As did Besmara's Cold Sore which I didn't notice until I posted.)

Nice - a nod to Kingmaker there... :)

Grand Lodge

Our ship was christened the Woman's Lie as a wink to the Man's Promise after a comment made by the first mate Vernon Blueskye.

After some Discussion we decided to call our Ship "Fool's Tax".

My party painted the ship red, and named it the "Sanguine Scream". They attached some screaming bolts to the masts, so that the ship howls vaguely as long as it's moving forward.

Still working on the long Job of getting the right weapons for her
But 'The Spitfire' will be a fearsome sight when she's ready.

Scarab Sages

We almost went with "Michael Bolton" because of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI6CfKcMhjY

but the captain veto'd it and we went with "the Fighting Honeybadger"

I was originally planning to use the name 'Harrigan's Folly' but our game got held up for about 2 months and then I saw it on here...

So it wound out be 'The Betrayal' with the Whale's skeleton as our figurehead...

Yar, our's be the Dead Eyes! Be it from the 'I' branded on the fair cap'n's face, or the eyeless heads of Plugg and Scourge, whose to say!

I fully expect my players to try and steal the Dominator. And keep the name cause they hate coming up with names, and probably don't care if the chelish navy is constantly after them.

My PCs named their ship Devilfish, in tribute to the tengu druid who died to one.

After an intense hour long debate our captain decided on "The Balding Chumswiller"

I wanted to name her "The Mutiny"

Our Druid named her "Spark of Insanity"

We lost a undine PC on Bonewreck Island. In honor of him, We named ours "The Undine's Revenge."

My player's are pitching the idea of "She's One of Ours, Sir" hoping to buy a few moments of confusion prior to battle, though they all seem to agree that the captain will have the final say...once a captain is determined.

They also tossed around "The SS F&@# You Leeches," a callback to hyjinks that unfolded in Carrion Crown, but I told them that the former "Man's Promise" is not a large wooden chest barely capable of holding three people.

I'm tempted to bring my PFS character out of retirement and have Ridgar Redhammer and "The Busty Barmaid" pay them a visit.

"Kraken's Sorrow" would be one good name idea.

They might not mention it near a Kraken at low levels, though.

Or the Master of Gales, for that matter.

Great names in this thread. The PCs decided to name their ship Scourge. I tried to get them to go with Harrigan's Folly but they seemed scared to take me up on it...LOL.

Hmmm. Didn't realize others had posted Harrigan's Folly as a suggestion. Did I pick it up subsconsciously from scanning the boards or is it so obvious that everyone should think of it? I didn't even notice it upthread until I reread just now. Strange how the brain works.

Do any of your captains have interesting names?

We just played through the Scourge/Plugg confrontation last week. Our swashbuckler rogue's name is Valana (no last name specified) and she's the only evil character in the game (the PCs/players don't openly know each other's alignments). She had killed two crew by that point. Though you couldn't really call either of those murder, the crew is a bit intimidated by her...and Slippery Syl Lonegan, our resident psycho killer, gets a little moist at the sight of her.

During the battle the player used a Paizo plot card that gave her weapon the viscious quality. She dealt and took a lot of damage. Afterward, Scourge was dead and Plugg was tied up. She asked the crew, "Who's with Plugg?" Only Kipper stepped forward (Patch was dead too). She stared hard at him as she stabbed Plugg through the heart (CDG). Kipper ran for the rail and jumped overboard rather than face her wrath...nobody stopped him and they watched him swim quick like dolphins to take his chances on the island.

The PCs (and, I ruled, the crew) elected her captain on the spot. With no last name (can't have her called Captain Valana) the crew have chosen to call her Captain Viscious...Valana the Viscious. I like it. May the Free Captains tremble.
