No kidding Bill. None of the higher level goals (apart from the 10k) actually seem to have increased their backers however... Is it all from the 10k goal person? Can you even tell that?
I'm pretty sure they can. Every time someone pledges, or changes their pledge, or cancels, etc. I think they are alerted by email.

I am not seeing a change either other then 2 $500 Brick & Mortar.
Of course you can Pledge more then your reward amount.
Hopefully someone did not accidentally add an extra zero ;)

Whoops, thanks Dragnmoon.
The 3k pledge levels send you to a single convention, either NTRPG in Dallas or PaizoCon in Seattle (2013). You still get a healthy number of signed and numbered hardcovers, not leather-bound as I understand it.
In fact it looks as if the 30 extreme limited edition leather-bound books are all taken!

4 gamers woke up today after being hopped up on Mountain Dew, Cool Ranch Doritos and running an ironman Slumbering Tsar session for 96 hours straight.
Gamer: "Oh.My.God.Someone took my skull and replaced it with a dirty ash tray that also has a perpetual ringing sound. Did we actually go out last night?"
Other gamer (checking online): "No, but between the 4 of us, it looks like we pledged $30,000 to the Rappan Athuk Kickstarter over the last two days."
All gamers together: GYAAAHHHHHHH!

That, or they can even just stop with the stretch goals. Paizo did so with their kickstarter, there would be no shame if FGG did the same.
They’ve already given us way more than I would ever expect.
THIS.
Seriously, even though I have the first 2 parts 3x versions of Rappan Athuk and the Rappan Athuk Reloaded Box set I still threw $100 at this to support the FGG effort to update this crazy mega dungeon to Pathfinder and S&W. All I expected was just the book. What I'm getting now is MORE than enough (although admittedly I do want the kickstarter to hit the 1000 backer goal because I'd REALLY like the dice. But if we didn't reach that goal I'd still be OK.).

Just to clarify, the dice given out for the 1000 backers are the same ones that are being given out for the $250+ pledges at the $120,000 stretch goal?

Correct, and those already getting a set of dice (or more than one) will be getting one more set. As the bonus goal indicates, all at the $20 pledge level and above get this if we reach 1000 pledges.

Wow, that’s great. Thanks for clarifying, Dawn.
I reiterate my earlier statement, though, you don’t ‘need’ to keep making/giving away more swag for future stretch goals. You’ve had so much swag already, it’s plenty. Would rather you keep the extra cash (you’d put towards rewards) and put it forth future releases!

New Bonus Goals:
800 Backers Bonus Goal:If we hit 800 backers we will have Bill Webb create a subscription service, starting this fall, for new added levels to Rappan Athuk. The $59.95 Subscription will be good for one year and provide 6 new levels (published by pdf every 2 months. At the end of the year you'll receive an actual book. If we get more than 250 subscribers the book will have a hardcover, otherwise a softcover.) All Kickstarter backers will receive a $10 discount on the subscription for the first year, resulting in a $49.99 price.
180,000 Bonus Goal:
We will add in the Appendix of the Gods & Demon From the World of Necromancer Games to the Rappan Athuk book.
If we make this goal, all of our backers who pledge $500 or more will receive a Frog God Games GM Journal. The journal will have a black cover with a hot foil seal of the Orcus and our name.

Ok then. Gimme an Orcus/Tsathoggua challenge coin!
That would be AWESOME!!

In essence you're right. In spirit you're right. In fact you're right.
But it might not be the best thing to stop. I was working on my RPG budget last night and I have to say... the $175 pledge is growing on me, where I'd planned to only drop $100. Originally the signed & numbered book wasn't enough to compel me to spend an extra $75. Now, because various stretch goals have been met there's more swag. Yes, $100 gets a bunch more stuff than it used to. But $175... I mean... T-Shirt! And a mini. Those are kind of minor things, but they help justify (in my mind) upgrading my spending. I'm not just getting a signature and a number. I'm getting a unique (and cool) shirt, and a nice Reaper mini. The $75 gets diffused over several rewards.
All I'm saying is... that if it weren't for the stinking shirt and mini I'd be definitely staying at $100. More swag, especially when distributed top-down encourages increased spending. And there's no way that shirt and mini actually cost Bill $75. There's bonus profit here to be had.
So while FGG doesn't need more anything, there's still some improved profits waiting, should they want it.

I see what you are saying, and I am by no means saying the extra swag hasn't swayed anyone to put in higher pledges.
But all that extra swag costs money. Extra money that comes out of their company. The t-shirt, the extra minis, the dice, the players guides and more. I'm sure FFG is looking at what they can and can't do (for swag), I also don't want them feeling they need to do too much.
FGG is not a big company, they are only a handful of very dedicated employees that do this on their off time. At least I am guessing the company is not supporting all of them (completely) financially. And really, it's none of my business.
I'm just saying I don't want them to overdo themselves feeling they 'need' to give us all these nice freebies.
Paizo stopped with their stretch goals before their kickstarter ended, and they are an infinitely larger company. There would be no shame if FGG did the same. And let us remember that the the PFO kickstarter still increased a great deal, in money and backers, after the last stretch goal. So ending swag for stretch goals doesn't necessarily mean it won't continue for Rappan Athuk.

At this point I think it's coming out of the money that people are pledging, since we've shattered the original funding goal, and the record for a crowdfunded RPG book, with no end in sight.

The Rachel (Blonde Frog, and yes 'The' is part of her name) keeps us on track for what we can and cannot do. Some of our more elaborate swag is not gonna happen at this time, but may show up in other products. Some things we just cant do ( a free zombie with every pledge over $1k? How could we make money on that?).
the thing is, most of the frogs have full-time day jobs, so we dont all have to make a ton of money to support our families. Having enough to keep the company going smoothly, and give away cool stuff, is the goal. Now that Poppa Frog doesnt have to tell Momma Frog he has to cut a GINORMOUS check to print this book, all is well.
We are first and foremost gamers with a rare opportunity to be a part of RPG history. Not many get the opportunity to do what we do.
Paizo is the flagship situation of a couple gamers getting together and putting out game product. they have done incredibly well, and we all owe them a debt of gratitude. they took the initial chance. Lisa, Vic, Eric and everyone else has paved the way for little companies like us to get our products out, and we have collectively made the industry survive, expand, and thrive in some cases. Thats a mighty proud accomplishment!
At NTRPGCon last week, I actually had people come up to me and want my sig in their book. I looked around "What, me? Why would you ruin your book that way?"
We do this because we love it, every one of you who lay down your hard earned money for our (sometimes) ludicrous ideas, and for future gamers just learning to appreciate the game.
We'll do just fine. As long as you guys come along for the ride!

I so agree. I really think it's great how Paizo has really gotten to where they are. They weren't tiny, but they have shown they can compete with the (previous) top selling medieval fantasy system.
And I will be rooting for you (FGG) to carve your niche and show you can do similar. Until then, I will continue to buy and enjoy your product.
Oh, and I would ask for your sig in my book, Skeeter. :)

Yeah, I don't think it's really coming out of the company, at this stage - that would only happen if they put in stuff that wasn't covered by the amount they'd raised, and I think the team are savvy enough with their budgets for that not to happen. The only thing I would be concerned about would be goals that needed resources in terms of time, things that actually stretched their ability to service or deliver. I definitely don't want them to compromise on quality, or work themselves to the point of exhaustion and / or never wanting to hear the word 'Kickstarter' again. However, I don't feel that they'd do that. I trust FG to only put stuff on the table that they can deliver, and deliver well.

I didn't think zombies were that expensive. At least not in a Walking Dead way. Just get the ball rolling and you should have enough for everyone.

For me, the thing about Necromancer Games (and now Frog God Games) has always been that it felt like they were making products for *me*, and they're simply "cool".
They are not making products because they have to reach certain sales quotas or somesuch. They don't make baseline products to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and they don't have have "balanced" adventures where the PCs are expected to win every battle. This allows for rich, flavorful products that really do bring back memories for me of when I first started gaming and so much was unknown.

I don't know that you can use Amazon.com gift certificates for Kickstarter.
When I went through a "dry" run through the payment stages, it asked for my amazon account number. On Amazon, it says it will take payments out of any gift cards before a credit card is charged.
Is there somewhere that says that is not the case for Kickstarter? I suppose I better find out before I find out the hard way.:)

You said it Skeeter! If we can do it we'll make it happen. We just have to do it well! That's the rule all the Frogs have to follow. So no second rate zombies here! I want only the best for my peeps.
As for never hearing the word kickstarter again... lol just wait til next month when we bring old school to the forefront!
