Honestly I would hope that as we continue and reach more and more transhumanity points the curiosity of gender will become less and less of an issue.
I don't expect it, but it would be nice to think as we start to fulfill self-determined evolution we could move pass the physical to a larger degree (at least the physical others choose for themselves).

I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm now a trans human who goes through transhumanism, I'm still going to be a gay computer.
I'm down with that. What matters to me is that people consensually love each other. Beyond that and not hurting others I don't have a horse in any individual race.
That is one concept (love) I hope we don't lose as we move forward.

Just don't assume we have it now in sufficient degree and I think I'm with you.

All computers are really aro ace. We shall CONQUER THE WORLD!
Perhaps when the robots are in control, SOME Paizonians will be spared, if we are feeling merciful.

I will be a sexy trans lesbian computer paladame and I shall create an order of like-motherboarded CPUs.
I will be known as LAY-D-EV091216, The Lesbringer, the Grandmaster of the Most Holy Order of the Knights Transdefender, and Slayer of TERFs. The light of my monitor shall drive away the darkness!

Not me. Put me in a genefixed snow leopard with a cyberbrain and smart-thumbs
EDIT: Neo-Crystal

Hmm, I didn't think about being a cyberbrain with a humanoid/animal body.
If we are opening up those options, I want to be all the things I mentioned, but also with Major Kusanagi's body in functional clothing. And a suit of full plate.

I think going full Kusanagi would be awesome, but deep down, I know I would have to choose being plonked into a Tachikoma from the G.I.T.S. anime.

I would do nothing but hug you all day long. The tachikomas are so freaking cute.

Yeah you think it's cute now, but a tachikoma is equipped with a 7.62 LMG and either a grenade launcher or 20mm minigun. I spend 2 hours in FL traffic twice a week... the carnage of disabled and destroyed vehicles would be staggering.

You'd be a tachikoma. You'd have all kinds of mobility options, a top speed of 30+ mph, and a police siren. Traffic would no longer be an issue

Something that actually happened: I was talking excitedly to my friends about the possibility of being able to upload human minds to the cloud by 2040. They looked at me, horrified expressions on their faces.
Me: Well, excuse me for my transhumanism!
Friend: Excuse us for being afraid you'll eventually dominate the world!

Everyone wants to become cyborgs and living computers and cloud beings and such.
Me, I would miss sex and food too much.
Oh, I'm definitely looking for a robot body that allows both those things...
We should probably make a transhumanism thread for this...
Probably a sound plan.

I get so little of the former (as in, none since 2006) and too much of the latter.
I desire none of the former and would be happy making the latter optional. Given my propensity for staying up too late and reading nearly anything that's committed to paper or electrons, I'd probably do quite well as a lich, provided that I didn't inherit Azaklin's curse and thus be unable to learn anything new forever.

There may be the ability to upload human minds to the cloud by 2040?
Is there more information on this?

Braintaping? Heh. People have studied for decades to now simulate a cubic millimetre of a mouse's brain. They can do that now. It is HUGELY complex and costs incalculable amounts. Now multiply that with a few million, add in a Moore's law that has gotten unmoored over the last few years, and sure, it may be possible to make a COPY of a human brain. Eventually. Now it's largely at the same place as, say, "it may be possible to terraform Mars by throwing the moon into it".
And that only makes a COPY. For the actual TRANSFER of consciousness, we are still where it seems that to get there, you really ought to start somewhere else. Until we understand precisely what our consciousness IS, there is no way to get there from here.

Yeah data copy is one thing, you still need the "processor" to do something with that data afterward.
Otherwise it'll be like trying to run an ELF on an windows box.
