Is there a list of all possible variations on the 25 pt buy?

What it says on the tin, my googlefu is weak or it doesn't exist.

I'm just wondering, I drew up like 15 possibilities but I'm sure there are more. I tend to never be happy with my ability scores, feeling like I'm missing something, so I figure from now on I'll just use a master list like I'm working on building now...

Its easier to play with an ability calculater than tick them off the list though surely?

This may or may not help, but here are the 20 pt. possibilities. (Thanks to my wonderful DM!) They're kinda out of order because they were on an excel sheet, originally it's 3 columns on 2 pages.

I don't think it's ALL of the possibilities, but relatively close. There's at least one missing from the list that I had written down at some point.

Love that calculator.
Always uses that calculator for my characters. The "human" option can be used to calculate for unusual races or higher level characters that have multiple sources of stats bonuses.

I tend to just use this one.

You know you want say high Str, and Wis click click click.

You then see how many points you spent and adjust from there. Oh but you need a little Con. Click click. Hmmm 22 points... oh well Cha goes down to 8. Done. Hmmm will -2 to Cha skills really hurt? Naa... +2 points (7 Cha) +2 Dex for better Initiative, Reflex Save and AC. Done.

A table just means you have to hunt for something. There's hundreds of combinations. To go through them all and tick them off will take ages.

But you can zero in on your two or three choices in about 10 to 20 seconds with the calculator.

Wow guys thanks, nobody replied after the first day so I figured it was an endless quest of ticking off combinations...

I'm playing with the point buy calculator now. I thought of the list cuz I get obsessive and want to see all the possible variations. I spend a few hours juggling like three stats before I'm satisfied lol.

I've never seen a list of 25 pt buy, but I know Kyle Baird (name drop) posted a list of all 280 combinations of 20 pt buy here on the forums.

Yep, that'd be the one. I copied and pasted into excel. That's what I use now to pick my stats. I assume he used a spreadsheet to come up with the numbers, if not, he has WAY too much time on his hands... :)

There's 32 combinations that allow either a double 18, an 18 and 17, or an 18 and 16. Those sets have fairly tight restrictions on the rest of the build and there's still 32 of them. Honestly there's too many to make it worthwhile for someone to do it by hand. Just write a quick program to generate all of them. A brute force method is to simply have the computer run through all 11^6 (that's not too many for a PC) combinations and spit out the valid ones.

that's a bit over 1.7 million combinations the computer will need to go through, with a lot of double ups... brute force makes CPUs cry

My favorite 20pt arrays are (pre-racial):

15,14,12,12,12,12
15,14,14,14,12,07
17,14,12,12,12,07

These are particularly "efficient" with +2/-1 racial stat adjustments (yielding a 15>17 > 18 @ 4th, and three 14s elsewhere). The middle array is especially good for dwarf tanks, as it yields one 18 at 4th, and two 16s and a 14 elsewhere...and CHA 05.

25pts is equivalent to 14,14,14,14,14,10 ...efficient spreads are:

14,14,14,14,13,12
15,14,14,14,14,08
16,15,14,14,12,07
17,15,14,12,12,07
17,16,12,12,12,07
18,16,14,13,07,07
