Male Human (Chelaxian) Psion (Kineticist) 1 (D6)

Petry was relieved when the first mate made his announcement. Eleder can't come fast enough. he thought, wishing he had some way of making the wind blow faster. Still, he had begun to make some new friends at the very end of the trip. The massive Dragolan, the chaotic Meraxes, the stoic Brin, the flighty Allia, and the enigmatic Kalis. And a certain redhead. Petry would have to see where they were staying in the port city when they arrived. Following fellow countryman Dragolan wouldn't be unseemly, and the cultured human might know where the best inns were in Eleder.

Make...friends! echoed a thought in his brain, and Petry smiled to himself, reassuring the psicrystal under his shirt. Yes, more friends. he thought back at the construct. We will need friends, to survive the jungle.

Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)

Kalis smiles. I'm sure your food is as lively as your people seem to be. I remember some of the...effects of Aroden's death, though I was merely a a child. His eyes narrow as if he is deep in memory. The storms seemed to be the end of the world and my people spent weeks in prayer. He pauses for a moment before refocusing on Petry. In any case, if you are planning to go deep into the Wilds you would do well to have someone knowledgeable with you, or it could be a very short trip.

Later, after listening to the mates announcement, Kalis smiles at the crates of wine and moves up for a bottle. This is a good tradition.

"Kalis, friend, Wine is the best tradition! There is an old old saying that goes: In Vino Veritas. In wine, truth."

He chuckles and goes for a glass himself.

"Now if only every meal was like this one might actually enjoy this ship. The company aboard is great enough."

For a rare moment, there was no jest in his words or thoughts. Meraxes actually seemed to enjoy getting along with everyone.

The food, booze and company is enjoyed by all late into the night.

At times when the group needs a check roll, I will just roll for the group. If anyone has any problems wit this, just let me know!

Fortitude Saves:

Allia - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Brin - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Dragolan - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Meraxes - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Petry - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Kalis - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Meraxes ONLY:

Your senses slowly return as you feel a sharp pain in your foot. Take 1 point of damage please. Shaking your head groggily, you get a mouthful of sand as you realize you are lying face down on a beach, dressed in your clothes and armor but with none of your weapons at hand. Lifting your head, you can see some strange creature nipping at your feet with its pincer experimentally. The creature appears to be some kind of cross between a scorpion and a lobster. Casting a quick glance around the beach, you can see various other survivors unconscious on the sands, and oddly enough, a large stash of gear including your own, piled together. Several other of these strange sea scorpions are slowly converging on you and the other bodies. Even as you stir now, something is wrong with your body... You feel slow, groggy and weak.

You are sickened (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).

The red circles indicate which of your peers are currently out of the battle.

You are prone, and you are sickened. Roll initiative and declare your actions please.

(No problem with the rolling of the rolls, GM Todd. Especially if you roll for me like that in the future.)

HP 10/10, 0 NL, AC Chelaxian Human ***INACTIVE*** Life Oracle/1

No problem with rolling for me, either.

For Meraxes ONLY:

Sorry, I said I would roll initiative, so I will go ahead and do so.

Initiative:
Meraxes - 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Eurypterids - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Before you are able to move, you see the scorpion-like creatures move to your fallen comrades and begin nip at them with their claws as well.

The scorpion-like creature in front of you attacks with its claws - again, almost testing to see if you will fight back.

Claw Attack: To hit1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Take 1 more damage, please.

Allia, Petry and Kalis:

Your senses slowly return as you feel a sharp pain in your foot. Take 1 point of damage please. You slowly wake to find that you are dressed in your clothes and armor but with none of your weapons at hand. Lifting your head, you can see a strange creature nipping at your feet with its pincer experimentally. The creature appears to be some kind of cross between a scorpion and a lobster. Casting a quick glance around the beach, you can see various other survivors unconscious on the sands, and oddly enough, a large stash of gear including your own, piled together. You are sickened (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).

You are prone, and you are sickened. I will roll initiative for you starting next round.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Psion (Kineticist) 1 (D6)

(Do you want us to continue the spoiler tags, GM Todd, or can we post "in the open" now?)

Stats-Temp Effects:

Petry is sickened (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks)

Petrys actions:
Petry awoke to pain, then saw the lobster-like creature picking at his feet. "AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhh!" the young man cried out, trying to scrabble away but failing to do more than feebly kick his legs. He looked around, seeing the others from the ship laying on the beach in similar condition. The strange lobsters with big pincers were coming up the beach from the surf, like large crabs.

Petrys future actions for Allia and Kalis:
As soon as I see a picture or a map, Petry will try to stand up and fight back against the lobster-scorpions, probably by using psionics.

Please continue to use spoilers until I let everyone know when it's ok to stop.

Meraxes, Petry, Allia and Kalis:

Also, it's still round 1 until Meraxes makes his move. I'll update the map and initiative order at the start of round 2.

Spoiler:

initiative: 18
Current HP: 6/8
Status Effects:
Sickened -2 attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks

"AH" the sight of the strange creature, the headache, the sand, and now more pain has left him in shock. The first thing he thinks of is to get out of being experimentally poked at by the sea scorpion/lobster thing.

Meraxes scrambles to his feat backwards kicking the creature away. He scurries back to where Petry is unconscious and tries to wake him.
5 ft step to d7 (Free) Stand prone(move) wake/shout at petry (move? or a standard?)

"WAKE UP MAN GET UP" He tries to focus his head and ignore the pain like his headaches but it is no use. All he can think about is waking up Petry.

Meraxes, Petry, Allia and Kalis:

Round 1 Feedback
As Meraxes scurries back, and yells at Petry, he hears Petry's cry of pain. A mixture of relief and concern sweeps over Meraxes.

Round 2 Initiative
Eurypterids - 24
Meraxes - 18
Allia - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Kalis - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Petry - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Round 2 Map

Meraxes, Petry, Allia and Kalis:

Seeing signs of movement and noise from the prone castaways, the sea-scorpions scurry to the other individuals, eager to find a more-willing meal.

The scorpion in front of Allia crawls over her and moves to Brin's foot. The one that previously nipped at Meraxes now moves to Dragolan. The scorpion responisble for attacking Kelis moves to Ishirou and the final one remains in front of Petry and attempts to inflict more damage.

Scorpion attack on Petry
Claw Attack: To Hit 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Fortunately for Petry, his natural instinct to kick at the enemy is effective and the claw misses its mark.

No more spoilers needed!
Brin and Dragolan
Your senses slowly return as you feel a sharp pain in your foot. Take 1 point of damage please. You slowly wake to find that you are dressed in your clothes and armor but with none of your weapons at hand. Lifting your head, you can see a strange creature nipping at your feet with its pincer experimentally. The creature appears to be some kind of cross between a scorpion and a lobster. Casting a quick glance around the beach, you see the other survivors dealing with the scorpions or unconscious on the sand. Out of the corner of your eye you notice a large stash of gear - including your own - in a pile. As you attempt to sit up you find something is wrong with your body... You feel slow, groggy and weak.

You are sickened (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks).

You are prone, and you are sickened. I will roll initiative for you starting next round.

Sorry for the triple post, but as far as initiative goes, unless you're playing off of someone else's move, the party can act in any order. The sea scorpions will always act before you in each round, so at least wait for their action before posting your own.

Female Human Bard 1AC

Allia blinked and the first thing she sees is the sun shining in her eyes, nearly blinding her. Before she can wonder however why the sun is up, when the last thing she remembers is partying the night before, she feels something moving up her leg and then over her chest.

As she looks she sees one of those creatures crawling over her, and she starts flailing at it, trying to swat it off and into the sand.
"EEEEK GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!"

Once the crab is off her, either because she managed to throw it off, scare it away or because it left, she tries to quickly stand up, before more of those monsters try to devour her.

I guess what I'm trying is the reposition maneuver, with -4 since i'm prone, -2 for sickened:
1d20 - 6 ⇒ (20) - 6 = 14

If that's enough (remember those things most likely get a size penalty to CMD), it should land 5ft away, and another 5ft for each 5 that I beat the CMD

HP 10/10, 0 NL, AC Chelaxian Human ***INACTIVE*** Life Oracle/1

Clarification: Has the sea scorpion nibbling at Dragolan's foot already acted this round? If so:

Dragolan goes to full defense and stands up, swaying slightly as the landscape seems to shift around him. Next time, check the vintage before drinking four or five bottles.

Actually, you don't get an action this round, Dragolan. Your first opportunity to act will be in round 3. The scorpion's action this round is what woke you up.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Psion (Kineticist) 1 (D6)

(I think I have this correct. Feel free to retro-correct me, GM Todd.)

(The scorpion missed me! Whew!)

Round 02, Initiative=08, map is BeachRound2.png

Stats-Temp Effects:

HP=6/7 points, AC=11 (touch 11, flat-footed 10), no armor, no weapons, speed=30 ft.

Not holding psionic focus; Power Points=6
Petry is sickened (–2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks)

The sea scorpion in front of Petry (F8) makes him wake up fully. Petry looked befuddled up at Meraxes standing over him. "What's going on?" he asked. Allia's scream cuts off whatever Meraxes told Petry. The lobster-thing waved its' claws at Petry, and he responded by trying to stand instead of lie on the sand.

(Stand up from prone (provokes an AOO) and move 5 feet back to D8.)

Seeing Petry stand, the scorpion attacks out of fear more than malice.

Tail Attack - AOO
To Hit: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Fortunately, Petry is again able to avoid the attack.

Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)

Kalis turns half over and sees the sea scorpion at his feet. He grunts as he pushes himself to his feet, swaying slightly. Probably provoking an AOO. He staggers to his left. 5 foot step to E10, which because I act before Petry hopefully gives me flanking. As the sea scorpion scuttles around the moving elf, he stomps on it violently.
ATTACK: Unarmed Strike +4 (1d3+3/20/x2) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 (+1 BAB, +3 Str, -2 sickened, +2 flanking?) DAMAGE: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

You earn TWO AOOs for your actions - standing up and the untrained unarmed attack. I put you in E9, because of the confusing way I moved the scorpions without clearly saying which was which. You'll see your and the scorpion's new positions in the Round 3 map.

As Kalis stands, the scorpion attacks him with its tail in retaliation.

Tail Attack - AOO #1
To Hit: 1d20 ⇒ 1

The scorpion misses wildly.

Attempting to squash him, the scorpion takes a jab at him with its tail again.
Tail Attack - AOO #1
To Hit: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Again, the scorpion misses.

Ok, now we're just waiting on Meraxes to close out this round.

Sorry for the confusion in terms of initiative and actions. Moving forward, I will upload the map based on what happens AFTER the eurypterids take their action.

Finally, not to Metagame, but you can move to the pile of stuff and withdraw one weapon for a standard action. It will take a full-round action to look for something smaller than a dagger in the stack of stuff. Drawing a weapon will result in an AOO from any nearby enemies.

HP 10/10, 0 NL, AC Chelaxian Human ***INACTIVE*** Life Oracle/1

Two things: First, I'm not seeing a link to the map. Second, if Dragolan tries to withdraw a weapon from the pile, how much will his haunted curse slow him down?

Technically, you haven't seen the "battlefield" yet. If you're curious, you can look at one of the spoilers. Or here: Start of Round 2 Map

Your curse won't affect you. You will clearly be able to see your weapon amongst the others - you're not reaching blindly for it.

IIRC, sickened specifies weapon damage.

Results of Round 2
Allia's attempt to get the vermin off her was too late - by the time she attempted to throw it, it had scurried on to attack Brin.

As Kalis stomps down on the bug, he hears a satisfying CRUNCH as the exoskeleton of the creature is crushed by the elf's heel. The creature dies immediately.

Meraxes' aims an Acid Splash at one of the scorpions, but it harmlessly lands in the sand with a sizzle.

The eurypterid in front of Brin (B5) moves to Aerys' head. (This prompts an AOO from Allia if desired). Assuming it survives passing by Allia, it nips at her ear with a claw.

The scorpion in front of Dragolan (C6) attempts another nip at the still prone man.

Claw Attack
To Hit: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6

Improbably, it misses the large man's calf.

The creature in front of Ishirou (D11) moves to Gelik's side and snaps at his arm.

Ishirou, now awake, jumps to his feet. He sways a bit as the sickness overtakes him. He looks as if he's about to vomit, but manages to keep last night's drinks in his stomach. He looks around and sees the other survivors and then stumbles over to the pile of weapons. Immediately a wide a smile crosses his face. He reaches down and withdraws his katana. He turns to face and strike down the scorpions.

Actually I'm pretty sure you need Improved Unarmed Strike to make AoO unarmed. So, none for me.

Seeing that her way to the pile of weapons is blocked by another of the foul beasts, she steps forward and tries to stomp the scorpion which is attempting to eat Dragolan.

"What is this? Where are we?"

Spoiler:

Kalis says We are being attacked. Let us focus on that for now! as he kicks the small creature attacking the gnome.

A stinging pain in the foot...memories of merriment, food and drink...hot sand and sun against the face...someone is shouting. Fighting!

"Wha?!" Brin sits bolt upright, blinking in confusion against the pounding in his head and the nausea in his guts. Confusion lasts only for a moment, as the man's survivalist instincts kick in. He winces again at the pain in his foot, and lurches to his feet, despite how it makes his head spin. Where are we? What are these creatures? Sword...where's my sword?

Brin's glassy eyes fall upon the pile of weapons just a few feet away. He lurches toward the pile, desperate to find his weapon. "Hold on, Dragolan, I'm coming," Brin attempts to speak, but a hoarse croak is all that comes out of his mouth.

Move action to stand up, then move to A7. Plan is to draw greatsword from weapon stash next turn.

The sea scorpion's stinger flickered at Petry but he managed to dodge it as he stood up. The elven barbarian's heavy foot stomped on the creature an instant later, killing it. Petry heard the others getting up with cries of alarm and shouts. He looked around, seeing another overly large scorpion-lobster scuttle towards the storytelling gnome from the ship. Kalis was already moving to attack the sea creature. "Protect the others, I've got this side!" Petry shouted loudly.

Petry paused, closing his eyes and breathing deep, even breaths of air into his lungs. He gathered the power within himself and held it, collecting it and squeezing it down to a single point. He held that point just behind his eyes, so he could focus through the point of energy and out into the world as needed. Energy types flashed through his head, and he chose fire, the burning flame. Petry then opened his eyes again, alert and ready.

(Getting psionic focus (full-round action that provokes an AOO))

Petrys future actions for everybody:
Kalis crunched one of these things with 1d4 damage. I'll see if I can do the same with a ray of fire.

"Not Eleder that's for sure, Allia!" Yells Meraxes.

Backing up still, surveying the beach and the fighting, his leg bumps into the pile of supplies-notable the hilt of a giant sword. Below him is the greatsword belonging to Brin. Meraxes picks it up.

Seeing Brin looking for his sword, he attempts to toss or hand it to him if possible.

"Brin over here! take it!

I'm in c7 at the start and 5ft step to B7 if possible. Standard action-grab Brin's sword and I want to give the sword to Brin in A7 if that is a move action. Otherwise I stand poised to quickly give the sword to Brin on his next turn

You're actually in D7 at the start of the round. You can 5' step to C7, pick up the weapon and then prepare to hand it to him for the next round with only a 5' step. Picking up the weapon will trigger an AoO. If you move to B7 and then pick up the weapon, it will trigger two AoOs. It's up to you.

Well if I pick it up and move (and take the 2 AoOs) will Brin be able to take the sword from me as a free action on his turn? If so then consider that is what happens for my round. I'll stomach the two AoOs this round.. but note taking damage to help another party member is NOT Meraxes' usual style ;) Blame whatever gave him the sickened condition for his altruistism.

H'ok. Hopefully your altruism will be celebrated and recognized by your comrades in an appropriate fashion.

Dragolan, was your move for this round to stand up and take full defense?

HP 10/10, 0 NL, AC Chelaxian Human ***INACTIVE*** Life Oracle/1

This time for sure:

Results of Round 3:

AoO Attempt
Tail Attack
1d20 ⇒ 14

The scorpion hits - but just barely.

Allia, take one damage and roll a Fort save.

Kalis charges the scorpion by Gelik and attempts to stomp on it. He does so successfully, but only manages to step on one half. In retaliation, it tries to stick its stinger into your foot.

The scorpion misses.

As Dragolan stands, the scorpion attempts to sting him with its tail.

This scorpion seems to be as sick as the party, as it again misses Dragolan's massive frame.

Meraxes dashes to the pile and grabs Brin's sword. As he does so, the scorpion takes the opportunity to stick its tail in his calf when he runs past and when trying to pick up the sword.

AoO Attempt
Tail Attack

The scorpion by Dragolan (C6) feels trapped by Allia and him, and attempts to claw at Allia's feet.

Claw Attack
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17

The scorpion's claw hits its mark.
Take one damage, Allia.

The scorpion by Gelik (D13} turns its attention to Kalis and attempts again to stick him with its tail.

Tail Attack
1d20 ⇒ 1

The scorpion, still reeling from being stomped on, flails wildly with its tail and hits nothing.

S slightly larger eurypterid emerges from the water, curious about the commotion. It pokes its head out and walks onto the beach.

Aerys, seeing the scorpion in front of her, scrambles back 5' and then attempts to stand up. Instantly, she is overcome by nausea and doubles over.

Gelik, likewise, attempts to scurry five feet away from the scorpion and then stands up. He yells, "What in the Gods names did we drink last night?! Are we all dead?"

Ishirou moves to one of the scorpions, raises his katana over his head and brings it down with a loud yell.

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 for 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Despite Ishirou's cruel intentions, he misses the scorpion and his katana slices the sand, instead.

Ok…go!

Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)

Could we get a recap of the initiative order? I don't want to step on anyone's toes.

The party can act in any order. The scorpions have a group initiative, your fellow NPC shipmates have a group order and your party has a group order. This speeds up PBP games. If you want to act based on someone else's action, that's fine, but only if they haven't already acted this round - we can't go back in time and do something. I fudged on this rule earlier, but that was because my map wasn't clear. Make sense?

Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)

Makes perfect sense, thanks!
I am pleased that are not dead Gelik, I was beginning to wonder.
Kalis stomps on the scorpion in front of him again, hoping to be rid of the vermin. And another AOO!

ATTACK: Unarmed Strike +4 (1d3+3/20/x2) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 (+1 BAB, +3 Str, -2 sickened) DAMAGE: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 (+3 str, -2 sickened)

Desperate to prolong its life, the scorpion strikes back at the half-elf with its tail.

Attack of Opportunity
Tail Attack
1d20 ⇒ 6

It misses horribly. Again, there is a satisfying crunch as Kalis crushes another scorpion beneath his foot. At the sound of crunch, there is loud, angry clicking from the larger eurypterid.

Just to be clear, the D13 scorpion is dead.

"We're alive, on a beach, being attacked by scorpions!" Petry shouted in response to Gelik's disbelief. The elven barbarian appeared to be handling the creature attacking the gnome, so Petry took a quick look around. He noticed the larger sea scorpion coming out of the surf. Petry tried to identify the creature, to see if it had any weak points. (General Knowledge check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 (With sickened -2.)) That thing will eat us. Petry thought in alarm. I have to use my powers. But there are people around! Maybe I can bluff it later. He raised his arm and pointed at the lobster-like thing in the surf. As when he practiced, he put the energy through the focus in his mind. (Saving points by expending the psionic focus, cost is reduced to 0 points but becomes 1D3.)

(Concentration check to suppress the display of the power (DC 15+level of the power):) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 (With sickened -2.)

A bass-pitched hum issued from around Petry's outstretched finger as if many deep-pitched voices were shouting it. (DC 15 Perception in 15 feet radius to hear the effect.) "Ow! You god forsaken little bugger!"

Instead of trying this again however, she carefully takes a step backwards, making sure to not get stung again (5 ft step to C4) and begins to sing one of her motivational songs, trying to lift the fighting spirits and morale of the other people at the beach.

Inspire Courage: You all get +1 competence bonus on attacks and damage, and +1 morale bonus on saves vs fear and charm

GMT:
Not to be Nitpicking, but since you never roll for damage, I assume they have something like 1d3-4 damage, where it doesn't matter what you roll. But according to the combat rules that means they actually do non-lethal damage.
Also, do we get any new saves against the sickening effect at some point?

The scorpions' attacks are both 1d2-1. While technically this does result in non-lethal damage if a 0 is the result, I've chosen to ignore that rule for this particular encounter. I apologize for not disclosing that sooner.

As for the sickness saving roll: Yes, probably.

HP 10/10, 0 NL, AC Chelaxian Human ***INACTIVE*** Life Oracle/1

Dragolan staggers to A8 and extracts his mace from the pile of gear. With a slightly wan smile, he says, "Now that I've got my shell cracker, let's see if you taste like crab!"

As Allia feels the stinger enter her foot, she feels poison enter her blood stream, slightly dulling the senses in her lower extremities.

You take one DEX damage. Please continue rolling Fort saves on your turns.

When Dragolan moves, the eurypterid attempts to finally injure the big man.

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

The eurypterid's pincers make contact this time, but are unable to penetrate his leather armor.

Brin Status:
hp 12/13
AC 15 (T 12, FF 13)
FORT +4 REF +4 WILL +1
Active Effects: Sickened

So if I understood correctly, I can take my sword from Meraxes as a free action? Awesome!

Brin reaches out with a slightly unseady hand, taking his trusty greatsword from Meraxes. "Thanks, my friend," he says hoarsely.

With a quick scan of the battlefield, Brin notes that one of these scorpion creatures is menacing the defenseless prisoner. What was his name? Jask? Is he still manacled? Guilty or not, no one deserves a helpless death...

Even as these thoughts race through his head, Brin is leaping into action, ready to defend the fallen man, despite how terrible he feels.

Move to C2, attack sea scorpion in D1 with greatsword.
Greatsword attack (sickened) 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 2 = 9
Greatsword damage (sickened) 2d6 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 - 2 = 9

Bleh, that's no good.

current hp: 5/8 Fort save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

Meraxes grinds his teeth at the pain of another hit but is still ok although he feels some sort of toxin.. something isn't right.

I'm assuming the pile is difficult terrain

Meraxes moves into the huge pile of gear away from the creatures looking for things.

"ANYONE NEED ANYTHING?"

Full-round action to move 5ft to the right in difficult terrain.

Meraxes, take one point of Dex damage. Please continue taking a Fort check on your turn. And yes, the pile is difficult terrain.

Brin attacks the scorpion, but is unable to strike it.

Begin Round 5

Eurypterid Actions:

The eurypterid at Jask's head (D5) turns its attention to Brin and attempts to attack him with its claws.

Claw Attack - 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

It misses horribly, almost damaging itself in the attempt.

The sea scorpion by Ishirou attempts to strike back after the man missed it with his katana.

Tail Attack - 1d20 ⇒ 13

The attack bounces off Ishirou's armor.

The larger scorpion, unsure where the blast of fire emanated from, chooses to move straight ahead and attack Ishirou.

Tail Attack - 1d20 ⇒ 4

The Tian is able to avoid the blow easily.

NPCs:

Gelik begins laughing. "This reminds me of that one about the halfling and the lobsters." For some reason, the way he says it causes you to laugh and fills all of you with courage.

Inspire Courage: +1 competence bonus on attacks and damage, and +1 morale bonus on saves vs fear and charm.

Easily avoiding the larger scorpion's blow, Ishirou continues to attack the smaller one with his katana.

To Hit - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Critical Confirmation - 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage - 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

The katana slices easily through the small scorpion, killing it instantly.

Aerys continues to vomit onto the sand. She stumbles into a tree and leans against it for support.

Jask scoots himself towards the water. He then stands up. "Damn these chains," he says. "I can do nothing!"

Updated Map

Female Human Bard 1AC

HP: 6/9
Initiative: 19
Status: sickened, Dex Damage -1

Uh... is Gelik doing his own Inspire Courage, or did you just repeat the stat-effect from mine? Because they don't stack.

As she sees a clear way to the pile of equipment, without evil lobster-scorpions in the path, she moves there, trying to pull a weapon that looks like it can crack one of those things, out of it.

Fort Save: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 + 1 = 14

Free action: continue bardic performance (except when Gelik is doing it, then I'm stopping)
Move: To B7
Standard: Pull out a weapon (if theres anything that either cracks or slices through them, and she can use, she takes that, over her whip :) )
