Bree. You should get yourself some mountains. Maybe one or two for the backyard..and a nice hedge between them. They are great for keeping tornadoes away. It works here in New Mexico.

Ha! I wish I could just get myself some mountains!!! I love the Rockies in Colorado, they are so freaking beautiful it's like looking at that gods to me.

Thanks for the well wishes, have a brief period of quiet at home with our 3 year old while my wife's sister is on duty at the hospital.

Our wee one was born in the early hours this morning and both mum and bub are resting up and doing fine. Unfortunately a C-sect so recovery will be a bit longer, but have family in town to help out which will make it alot easier as we run shifts at hospital helping out.

Obviously will still be a few days before brain is rested enough and have adequate time to make sense of anything, but wanted to let y'all know that the delivery went fine.

Ok all, anyone have pointers on Pathfinderizing a little module. I have scanned the Temple of Elemental Evil (AD&D version) into my computer and after several days gotten the whole thing into my word processor. Now I just need to go through the 175 single spaced 10 point font pages (it started as 128 3-column 9 point font in the module) and change all the Level 0 NPCs to Warriors/Adepts/Experts/Commoners, reduce the current treasure from somewhere in the 2mil range down to about 150-200k, screw around with the zillion magic items in the module, change all the monsters and convert the main NPCs to Clerics, Thieves, Wizards, Fighters. Perhaps change some to sorcerer or oracle just for fun, and figure out about 200 traps.

Is there any advice that the knowledgable group around the campfire can give me to make this a little easier?

Oh, and I have to figure where in Golarian I should stick the ToEE and the Scourge of the Slavelords (my next conversion project.) I am sick of Varisia as so many modules are based around it.

Hey guys, got caught with a Charge of Quarters shift today so no post from me. Nothing like babysitting full grown adults....

Tirion, where in Golarion have you always wanted to flesh out more? There are plenty of regions that seem really rich, but have little to no expansion yet.

I have a similar gig rostered next week.

Walk about with a big book writing down the names of all the naughty kids.

Tirion - our three year old already play fights with my DDM minis ;)

Wife and Bub continue to do well and all things considered should hopefully be back in our own home as of tomorrow. Will see how the home-life settles out before committing to a specific time for wading back online so if Zyren-botting can be applied for any critical items that would be grand.

Yep - my 5 and 7 year olds were having fun playing a very minimized version of PF - the 5 year old just liked the fights, imagine that. Then my 7 year old discovered Pokemon - what a disaster.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Mark, congratulations again. Oh, and be exxxxttttrrrraaa nice to the wife for awhile. Cesarean sections really hurt :( The good news is, if they used staples on the outside, those will be out after a few days and the pain decreases dramatically one those damn things are gone. Bright blessings on your family :)

Night Bree (being now back from my nightshift and first half of my classes today I can totally relate to tired...)

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

I didn't get to sleep until nearly 6 this morning, and was woken back up several times by my cat (who I swear wants to learn how to fly, why else would she be waking me up so much the last two mornings?) and then I got up for good just before 10 am. I think I might have to take a nap later while Freyja's at school.

I've got surgery scheduled for Thursday, so I'm trying like hell to have all my school done early. I've got a project due Sunday, though, that's worth 15% of my final grade so I can't sweep it under the rug like I might have too with some smaller assignments.

Not yet, classes are done but I have to get the weekly shopping done and the get some food - which means about 3 hours left to go (after a day like this checking blood sugar before going to bed - 1-2 hours after eating - is more or less mandatory for me). But since I have to get through this every week, I learned to cope ;-)

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Are you diabetic? I am going on 38 years since I was diagnosed.

Scarab Sages

male 1/4 Elf Lorekeeper???

Yup, Type one diabetic. I manage quite well, most of the time keeping the blood sugar level of a healthy person.

The only complication I have is the feet - despite good blood circulation and near to no neural damage (despite a severe infection a few years ago (diabetes and infection broke out mor or less simultanously, making me one of the "oldest" newly diagnosed Type ones in germany - yay!), wound at my feet take aeons to heal.

Seriously, my diabetologist is well known for her competence among her colleagues (as I learned in the specialized hospital where my foot was treated), still she admits she has no Idea why despite good blood values and little complications they just won't heal...

That was my 'oh god know my sickness' rant for today, though ;-)

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Yep - type 1 here as well. I was diagnosed in 1974, so it has been a while. Can't say my bg is always perfect, but it is usually pretty good and so far I have had no problems which is pretty astounding after all these years.

My belief is that I should just do what everyone else does and adjust my insulin as necessary. Usually works well for me.

Scarab Sages

male 1/4 Elf Lorekeeper???

Indeed it does. Doctors and advisors in said clinic told me, as long as there are no serious complications, a well adjusted diabetics life might actually be as long (and not much different) as that of a healthy person, so we can hope ;-)

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 49/49 - AC20;FF17;T18 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Heh - I figure that if I were not a diabetic, I would probably do much less athletically and be in worse shape. Knowing that I am diabetic forces me to get out and get exercise fairly regularly. (Although I have been slacking because of work recently).

The way I look at it there are two types of type 1 diabetics. Healthy ones and dead ones.

Scarab Sages

male 1/4 Elf Lorekeeper???

You forgot the really painfully and slowly dying ones, a kind I met in Hospital...a good reason for me to mind my diet and do sports when I can manage (sadly less at the moment - yay feet)...I never wan't to get down that road, especially since I always felt like much of their ails came from them acting stupid beyond measure.

Anyway, I log off for today. This weak might see less post from me, since I expect my connection to be down thrusday to thursday.

Good night everyone!

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Hope you're sleeping well, Feytharn :)

Go to sleep Bree - you are not allowed to stay up until 4 am twice in a row.

Female Human Rogue-Knife Master/10 (Init: +4)

Lol, well it's only 10:43 pm right now, and I was up until nearly 6 am last night... er... this morning? As soon as my child stops loosing her damn mind and goes to sleep, I'll think about headed that way.

Scarab Sages

male 1/4 Elf Lorekeeper???

Good morning everybody.
Sorry, I will have to vent a bit about my last weeks. Please take it in good enough humor, I am still able to laugh about it...

saturday, april 14th: after classes held in an auditorium that probably was furnished a hundred years ago with no regard for peolple anything larger than a halfling (meaning i had to sit on three places, one knee at the seat to my right, me, one knee at the seat to my left), I get home and after the shower suffer from a lumbago as bad as it gets. Too late to cancel gaming night, too - thats gonna be fun!
GM (beginner) realizes he missed something (minor details as we find out later) last time and asks us if it was OK to restart before. Whole sessions plays like a DejaVu, only with more pain.

sunday, april 15th - monday april 16th: pain gets gradually better, but I have to postpone some less important work at the house for a while. I somehow manage to get through my nightshift without my back killing me, pain worsens next day (no surprise here, without sleep or even the possibility to unbend). When I get home from classes, my DSL account is suspended. Turns out I made a mistake with the payment (I switched numbers within the target account). I get my provider to give me another ten days to sort it out.

tuesday april 17th: pain and frustration about the scrambled payment keep me awake, even so I had no sleep at all the night before. Pain is almost unbearable at morning. I manage to get to the doctor. turns out most painkillers that really help with the lumbago are based on a substance I am heavily allergic too. I can't give an online order to check the scrambled payment (turns ot my TAN list got from 14 left to no left without me noticing and without my account changing - at least they werent stolen or fished, they just vanished into haze)and my classes atm keep me from getting to the office in time. I start to scratch my food money for this and the next week together, knowing i can still get enough food together from freezer and storage.

friday april 18th: I break my glasses just before a presentation. Besides looking rather silly in front of the class I know due to mentioned circumstances I will not be able to have it repaired until next month. I start wearing my last glasses again, remembering I had them checked because I started to see thimngs slightly doubled...I can feel a migraine coming pretty fast.

monday april 23d: Pain from lumbago got worse again, though not as bad as last week. I have mde a food plan for the next week, I will be able to cope with the situation quite well. Hopes get higher.
I break my last insuline pen in the evening, yay me!

today: After getting a new pen from my doctor (instead of just a recipe because she has a few at her office for the diabetes classes) I get to my bank finding out THIS ONE F.......DAY THEY ARE CLOSED BECAUSE OF A F..... WORK ASSEMBLY SESSION
Suspension of my account gets unavoidable, but at least after a call to my provider they assure me that seeing I try to get it sorted out they will see it will be as short as possible once they get their money.

Sigh....
Sorry, rant over. If I am not here the next few days, you know why.

Those bastards tried to have a crazy party at the barracks while I was on duty Saturday. I tell you what. The Army seems to be a fountain of youth for some people's maturity level, lol.

@ Fey: Wow, that's an impressive streak of bad luck!

Scarab Sages

Yup, Murphy has got a run right now (and I even left out a few minor incidents, like getting wrong books delivered in an international order). I really hope my luck changes soon.

Hope things are looking up for you now at any rate feytharn!

I am comfortable enough to say that Caterine will now be back in action - we're home from hospital and settling in nicely. Dear wife has the peanut ensconced upon her chest asleep at present :)

Might be a bit spotty in terms of reliability for a while but confident I should manage a 1/day.
