My three year old has great fun with some of my old minatures (though he calls them transformers) - play acting fights between them and such. I had a starter of Monsterpocalypse that I picked up somewhere or rather that has buildings and giant lizards in it so he liked that. Just biding my time until he's old enough for the good stuff :)

Weekend Forecast: Away in the woods with my Band of Merry Men again.
We head out Friday arvo, back Sunday night... I'm hoping the weather stays the same and it should be some pleasant days and nights - The Australian bush can be magically beautiful with all the bright native flowers out in full bloom and all the animals kicking about (and all the baby Kangaroos zipping about).
Ahhh nature, whats there not to love eh?
feytharn |
@ DMHW: AFAIK, the source for these rules is Gods&Magic - so yes, they are allowed to use. And yes, you can just change that.
@ Fey: But no love for Warhammer fantasy, eh?
I've played it a few times when 1st edition was pretty new, but nothing after that. I still like the setting, but not enough to invest time or money into the books after that (strange thing, when I run 2 campaigns . I mostly GM, one of them tends to be pathfinder (former 3.5, former 3.0, former AD&D) as I I feel comfortable enough with the presets opf the game to concentrate on the campaign, the characters etc - and I love most of the APs as a solid base of tzhe campaign, the other campaign tends to be non-fantasy (Cthulhu/Delta Green, Dark Matter, Star*Drive, Babylon 5, Deadlands, Buffy). Running a second fantasy campaign, even with a very different premise, like WFRp would be a bit of a drain to me. As a player I'd love to, but I don't have any of the rulebooks to back it up.

I guess we have to change some things soon - the HOR situation for example is annoying with one character being completely out and one posting very spotty...
What did you have in mind?
I'll be able to post myself more regularly once my computer is back from the shop!

DMZZ will have to decide, but Perdition (Bilbo) was a gnome pyromaniac sorcerer. So, someone with arcane magic would be best - witch, wizard, sorcerer. Witches healing would be nice since our three front line fighters like to attack first, attack second, consider healing while attacking third. Makes for a colorful group, if you consider splattered blood colorful.
Right now we have:
Harry - half-orc thug - muscle & seducing maidens
Kanyk - half-orc ranger - muscle & tracking people to hit
Karlan - human paladin - muscle & appeasing his god while hitting people
Celestra - aasimar cleric - healing & naive questions
Aileatha - changeling bard - healing & color commentary

Anyone here interested in joining a Kingmaker campaign I am in? Currently we are about 1/2 way through the first book I think. Party is level 2. We are losing a cleric of Cayden - so will need a healing spell caster of some sort - Oracle, Cleric, Witch probably. If you want to see the campaign, here is the link:

I am still waiting for a spot to open up for a caster in one of DMZ's threads. I was thinking it was going to be HOR but that never seemed to come around. I am assuming they are waiting for an opportune time to let a new character hop in and fit it into the story as well.

Yeh - Bilbo was playing a sorcerer in HoR and a wizard in HoJ. Unfortunately it is hard to add someone as we are locked in an undead infested house in HoR and locked in an undead infested courthouse in HoJ.
Tirion Jörðhár |
Yeah HoJ may have to wait until the next module unless some deephat rabbits can be pulled...
Sable is my witch so if I go divine it'd have to be something new for Kingmaker (if I were to make a character).
Then go witch, gives some more bang for the buck, and really does not decrease the healing all that much if you take the Healing Hex and Healing Patron. The party currently has 1 fighter, 1 ranger/rogue, 1 bard, 1 cleric(leaving), 1 cavalier, and 1 sorcerer(me). Actually, a witch with high intelligence would not be bad as we are sorely lacking on the knowledge skills.

What's the rest of the group look like? There's lots of ways to get healing...

If you are interested, post a character idea on the OOC of the thread. I told them that I would ask if anyone is interested. Much faster and easier than having all the players and DM have to read through a dozen or more applications for 1 slot. My guess is that the group will want someone of the divine bend, but anything you can sell is good.

I could probably get away with druid too. Let them know someone is interested I'm jsut going to look at my options and make a decision.

Which is why you should take my Tiefling Witch for your assassin group - She kills and steals by putting people to sleep and then pulling them underwater. Just not how most other killers work.

Will do, the other player just announced that they were leaving today, so this is fairly quick. We are likely to return to our main base in the next few days, so if they like one of you, it should be a fairly quick add in.

We'll see. It's a big pile with lots of solid candidates.
Unsurprisingly most of them are ninja/rogues.

Yep - lot of creativity there.
When did they change the "quote" so that sub-quotes were a slightly different color? Was that why the system was down for a while last night?

TarkXL, Sable and anyone else, I posted the character requirements on the OOC thread for the Kingmaker campaign. I assume that they have not changed, I coped them from the recruitment thread when I joined a couple of months ago.

Zyren, Illusees here, submitting my dwarf for Heart of Journeys. My apologies for the delay, I was preoccupied with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, among other things. I have yet to choose pepared spells or equipment, but I'm off to do so after I finish this post, so everything should be complete by the time you read this. Hope everything's in order and to your liking. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of PBP-ing.
Zyren Zemerys |
@ Cordren: Ah well, I thought you had left us again :) Good that you're still there. I would have just exchanged you for Vidor - party, what do you say, can we still do that? Like assuming that Vidor/Cordren just waited in the main hall?
@ Ceragia: The party has nearly reached the end - I will soon write your welcoming post.

Sorry Zyren, Strangely enough, I have not used Summoning Monster before. In my original post I had the dog appear at N24. However, Tark reminded me that the summoning will take a full round, so I was trying to anticipate where the ghouls would be next round. I was trying to indicate which ghoul the dog would attack (basically the lead ghoul), but not necessarily at that location. In other words, I was not expecting that ghoul to be where he is now. Tell me, will the dog appear before the ghouls move or after?

OK, once again I've either managed to drive the virus into remission and it's hiding, waiting to pounce back at me later or it's really gone. I'm not convinced it's gone... either way, for now I have full use of my laptop again. 24-hours have been lost on an essay I need to turn in tomorrow, so I'm off again. Have fun everyone!
Pitr Jendarne |
A scatterbrained diviner aka human wizard
A godmother (in the mafia sense) aka tiefling witch
A beacon of light aka half-drow paladin
A ladies' man aka human fighter
A quiet master of backstabbing aka half-orc thug/assassin
The ladies' man is unfortunately likely to settle down with the lovely Swan upon his return to Karcau.
Real life- I've got another move, holidays, and starting a new career as a middle school Science teacher coming up. I want to keep the 3 games I'm running going, but need to pare down my playing. Pitr has def been fun to run (nearly a year on this campaign!) and i thank ZZ and everyone for an enjoyable game.

Voodoo, I am really going to miss you in the campaign. Who is Solaric going to argue with? I hope the half drow cleric didn't drive him away! You really had a great character with a lot of personality! Congratulations with your new job as a middle school teacher. That is real tough work! I sure hope you keep in touch and stop by for a visits from time to time!

VC, Seems like you just got to ABQ, but it sounds like you got new gig. Congrats. Where are you off to?
You know, I got a job offer here about 12 years ago and didn't take it not realizing I might never get another chance :P
Economically, I just have to keep running back to AZ to make a living although I prefer NM.I've been back in ABQ about 6 months trying to get a gig and end up visiting friends in Tucson for the TG Holiday and get an interview and job offer! It's a rougher school, but an excellent administration. I figure I got to start somewhere and it's really important to have good support as a new teacher. It's a temp contract for the rest of the school year, but I figure I'll keep an eye on ABQ jobs and maybe down the road I'll try again.
and Tucson is a pretty amazing place to spend the winter- I HATE the cold. ; )
