After months of finalizing contracts and making sure everything is in place on the legal side, LPJ Design will be making an announcement on a very unique razor sharp exciting project they have been working on dealing with the best freelancers in the RPG industry from coast to coast. While we can’t tell you the project name right now, we will give you the hint of the initials of the title, RC. (Hint! Hint!) This project which will be something that fans have been clamoring for several years and LPJ Design is going to give it to you. This project will have sinister overtone in the game world with the adventures that will be legendary on the annuals of RPGs. Go by the LPJ Design blog on Friday and learn more about this upcoming project. Thanks for your support of RC and LPJ Design!

It would be in poor taste if it were an April fool's prank - not because it's cruel to those who want Razor Coast so much (and who may have pre-paid), but because April fool's pranks shouldn't be pre-announced. You've got 24 hours to take care of your 4/1 fun, and prepping people for it ahead of time kinda ruins the point.

I agree with this.
They did an April Fool's prank on a radio station here in Dallas last year where the morning show personality said he was changing his name to TexasMotorSpeedway.com - but they set the joke up for like 3 days, so I couldn't help but think "How the heck is this an April Fool's Day joke?"
:)

Royal Crown? That'd be my guess.
Remote Controlled Adventures. A new setting in which the PCs go to a special astral chamber in town and sink into a deep sleep, while astral projections of themselves do the actual adventuring. If they 'die,' they just wake up in the chamber and start over, like a video game!
Random Chronicles! Adventure in the whacky world of Random, where every person you meet, every room you enter, every encounter you face and every treasure you find is rolled randomly on a d100 table! Includes all the charts you need to generate an encounter with over six billion possible combinations!

I had hoped it was the real deal but kinda what I figured.
On a unrelated note anyone watch his video blog about waters of 3pp Pathfinder getting crowded?
Just finished watching it. What the heck was that about 5E? I also don't know about 3PPs for Pathfinder being overcrowded, or jumping on the be the "next big thing" - I think a lot of 3PPs have heard the good press about Paizo (not the least from that Open Letter spectacle) and want to be on board with a company that treats them right.
The april fool's joke was... eh, I guess kinda funny. It didn't really sync with my sense of humor.

Wow. Just wow.
That was the most unfunny, potential customers alienating April's Fool joke I ever saw.
Quite frankly, I think it's a very bad business decision to play with and then disappoint the hopes of the people who have been waiting for Razor Coast so long.
It kinda was to be expected, but nevertheless. Just weak.
@D_M: Yeah, I did. Do you happen to know anything about Necromancer games coming back? What about Frog God then?

Yes I do, I actually know a lot about it. It so happens i am actually friends with Clark, we exchange emails and stuff. No Necromancer games is not coming back. Frog God Games is going to keep doing what it is doing. Clark has some new idea's and when he gets all his succubi(he is a demon lord and they don't use ducks) in a row, he will be making a announcement. No I don't know when it will be, but I do know he will be going out on his own. For the short term Necromancer Games is truly dead... other than Tomb of Horrors book which is technically a Necromancer Games book, being published/distributed by Frog God games.

Aye. I don't feel as if things are getting crowded, in fact, I feel as if things are just getting revved up. I think what we are finding is that you better provide a high-quality product if you plan to offer in this arena, and I think that is a good thing.
My inclination is to say that we won't see a glut, because a certain level of quality has been set that not everyone can provide.
Just some thoughts.

Perhaps it's because I only have passing knowledge of what Razor Coast is (or rather what it was hoped to be), but I thought that blog post was hysterical.
It might also have to do with April 1st being one of my favorite days of the year and just enjoying all the outlandish and whacky stuff people write.
FWiW, I enjoyed the blog thoroughly... though I can also understand why champions and supporters of Razor Coast would be put off by it.

Yeah, I agree with the bar already set fairly high for quality. I think more people entering 3pp for PFRPG will just likely push the drive up for quality. On the other hand I think if a company starts to let their quality slip I could see them getting left behind in a hurry. I think most of us learned from the 3e days and are more cautious about buying 3pp stuff.

@D_M: Thank you very much for the additional information - that's at least a bit of good news, though my mood is still soured. :)
BTW End if you want some more information straight from Clark about it. He made a big post over at ENWorld to clear some things up. It is post 106 at the top of page 8 of this thread. The url link should go straight to page 8 and it should be the first post.
