Buff has just reminded me - last night, I wrote a song in a dream. This happens, occasionally - sometimes they're slightly surreal and haunting, but this one isn't - it's a smutty 1920s style yarn about Mr Barrett's famous organ, which sounds (for some reason) vaguely like 'I've Got A Brand New Pair Of Rollerskates' If you're very good, I shall get Scrotes to sing it to you.

I'm not posting because I've been stunned to silence:
I posted on a political thread that Jimmy Carter was a terrible president, and no one is arguing with me.
At this point I just feel bad for the guy...

I'd typically be inclined to argue with you, but I just have too much other stuff to be doing.

Today I dreamed I was in pub... I went outside for a few moments and when I went back, the people there were having an orgy.
I stood around completely clothed in the middle watching around and started to walk away...
Is that saying anything about my social interaction?

Sounds like an early nineties video.
The Pixies, Live, or R.E.M are my first inclination.

Musical interlude - Moody nineties edition
My favorite part of the video is the dude in the purple dress shirt and a pony tail, ready to pounce on... dancing?... really?... that's all he does in the band... it wasn't a Twitter contest?...

I saw them at Glastonbury in... 1996?
They got really annoyed because people were chucking mud at them and started making rude gestures at the crowd.

In fairness, I've seen them as well, it's a natural reflex.
Throwing mud at them, I mean.

Next time you're at an orgy (real or dreamt), don't worry about finding somebody alone. ;)

I was pretty sure someone had stolen my best friend's phone and was trying to lure me to my death.
Thankfully, I was wrong, which a few security questions established, it was still really weird for a bit there.

I prefer the reassuringly soft tomato myself.
Or a nice ripe pair of melons.
But hey, it's the garden yo, the Vegas of the backyard, so really there is no wrong way to do your gardening.

Pokemon Go's theme should be "At least it is something else flooding your feed besides politics!"
I don't even like the game, but it's better than the alternative trend to talk about, and for that I'm thankful.

You know, the bottom right of the page, where it says "recent threads in off topic" I use those to get around the various discussions I try to derail (have I mentioned my kids recently...) So it's a little annoying when I have to go to other means to find those threads when they aren't in the recent threads in x box.

Also as the son and brother to democrat political activists, I get more than enough politics elsewhere.

I suspect "dearth" does not mean what you think it means.

San Francisco congestion was terribad in the subway coming home from work at rush hour, so I went to Gamestop to kill time. They had Far Cry Primal for PC at $29.99, and my newly built desktop should run it at max graphics. Naturally, I purchased the last one, looked at the back of the box, and saw that Ubisoft published it literally two blocks from the store in which I bought it. Talk about buying local.
