Good movie. Have you read the book? It's VERY different, although you can see a definite resemblance to the first chapter.

There is a book?

Yup. It's not acknowledged anywhere that I have seen, but the movie is SO similar to the first chapter it cannot be a coincidence. The book goes on though to explore the fallen civilization of the underground dwellers. There is also a sequal which is not quite as good, but still worth reading.

Sometimes I really hate....

(A) My Basement
(B) my entire house
(C) Rain
(D) All of the above

Scarab Sages

Think I'll go with (D).

I wish it would rain. I prayed for rain for two hours today.

I hate the heat in Texas.

It would be nice to not have the electricity go off every few hours. Or see the sun. Or not have a lake inside my car.

When he's allowed out that is.

I, like AZ, just happen to live on the East Coast.

I brought that thread back, but it's gotten a bit down the page. I'm not sure if I should bump it.

But Garky-poo is right. I ain't no good. I'm a curmudgeonly old, thread pooper who also, or so the stories go, like to kindap baby penguins, train them to be assassins, then unleash them on an unsuspecting world.

On the other hand, he's Gark.

Otherwise, welcome.

Also - just off the East Coast eh? And, according to your profile, you're in PA. Philly, or no?

Assassin penguins...hmm. I like your philosophies and want to subscribe to your newsletter. Now that's destruction I can stand behind.

Close to Philly, but alas, no. Further north. East Stroudsburg actually.

Aberzombie, you are mean. You didn't invite me to your "Brain Souffle" party. I'm still upset about that, so upset I'm going to link to your first known post.

Wait a second... Did you just read through old FAWTL threads to find that two year old post?

Just because somebody did it before, doesn't mean it's okay. We all slip up from time to time, which is understandable, but the general guideline is a good one.

(And this is from one Perry-hater to another. It's best taken elsewhere, because no good will come of dragging a political argument into this thread.)

I didn't read all of them. But I've been browsing them lately to understand what people are talking about, and a quick search revealed that post. It IS likely I will save that s#+& for future flinging.

I was under the impression that Perry-hate was okay in this thread. ("Even Texans don't like Perry.") (And I don't hate Perry. I try not to hate anyone. I've narrowed it down to three people.) I'll see if I can find that post, though I could be wrong.

Apologies for breaking the rules. Joke aliases were not forbidden in my re-initiation.

Edit: Wasn't this thread . . .
Edit1: And it looks like it wasn't in this thread . . .
Edit2: And it wasn't one of Heathy's or Spanky's posts . . .
Edit3: Ah! Maybe Gavgoyle's post on the above linked thread was it. Or Mairk?
Edit4: This is quite annoying.
Edit5: I'll admit defeat. I don't want to wade through all the posts with the word "Texas" in them. Sorry for using so many incompatible arguments.
What happened was this: I thought it would be funny to joke about Texas not having grass. I made the above post. I then made a new alias. I decided to call it "Prick Parry," since I was certain "Undead Rick Perry" had already been done. (He is the first famous Texan that sprang to mind.) I saved the alias, gave it a simple avatar (one of the least-used ones), and went back to the thread and edited it in. When Wolfthulu posted, I at first thought he was talking about green stuff as in pot, then realised he was talking about the alias. I was delighted to try out a new technique of hypocrisy revelation. I admit that it's a@!%+$!ry, but at the time I wasn't thinking of the feelings of others. I hereby delete my arsenal. Now I will have to use the search button for future actions.

You need to build an altar in your yard and start sacrificing animals at noon. When people complain call it a "barbeque area".
