Which is patently ridiculous. Just ask NH or Shiro.
Or, better yet, don't, because I sincerely doubt either of them would want to get into that discussion. But Drejk made me laugh.
Shut up. You're not helping.

It's funny how life experience can change your general attitude (at least for some of us).
For years, I got incensed when people drove down my street, then honked at some perceived slight. I figured they were trying to race down my narrow street too quickly, and were honking at someone driving too slow for their tastes.
Then, COVID-19 came and suddenly it was the Apocalypse and everyone can walk down the middle of the street because cars don't exist any more.
Seriously. Whenever I have cause to get in the car and leave the house, at least once on my way to the major streets I get blocked by a random pair of people, strolling down the dead center of the street, with no intention to get out of the way for such an obsolete mode of transportation as the automobile.
I just don't get it.
So now when I hear cars honking on my street, I can be fairly sure that they're honking at some clueless pedestrians wandering in the middle of the road, and I just don't mind.
And I know people have asked, so we have 4' wide concrete sidewalks on both sides of the street. GothBard and I walk side-by-side on them every day on our walks, and it's perfectly comfortable. So the decision to walk in the middle of the road is a conscious choice of, "Oh, there's so little traffic here we'll do it," followed up by, "Oh, that car shouldn't be here anyway, so it can wait for us to finish our stroll," (or SOMETHING. I have no idea how they justify their behavior to themselves).

You could get a full-on arena deathmatch going with that...

Still not done with my progress reports.
Which means we probably won't get to game today, because I haven't had time to prep.
And it's Eve's birthday on Wednesday, and I've been madly trying to figure out what to do about that, without much success.
This is not a good weekend.
I'm sorry. I would extend the week by a day if I could but I don't think that would help.

You post 5 adjectives, nouns, or adverbs that are relevant to the kid.
You tell us how many words are needed for a satisfactory-length progress report. We engage in writing hypothetical progress reports.
You win!
WW says, "If you're stuck, just write, 'Sweet like candy, dumb like sheep. Thank you.' "
WW is not helpful.

LM, two things to remember.
Those two grocery store dweebs wouldn't know what to do with you if you offered. For one thing, their vocabulary limits their understanding. They'd have no idea you were offering in the first place.
Secondly, you'll always be young to me. And to your husband. Who is one of the Ancient Elders.

So beautiful If I had tear ducts I would be crying. Nothing quite as beautiful as the relationship between a girl and her unspeakable tentacled monstrosity.

I think you've been spending too much time in certain corners of the internet.

Last year I went on a trip to Spain. I checked into my hotel, and wasn't feeling well. I asked at the desk about a doctor, and they said they had one on staff. The doctor came to my room, asked me a bunch of questions, gave me a few pills, and left. Soon I felt much better. I went back to the desk and said I was surprised that they had a hotel doctor. The clerk just smiled and said "Nobody expects the Spanish Inn Physician".

A farmer is out in his field, and a cow walks over. The cow says "Hey man, what do you do?" The farmer doesn't respond. The cow moves a little closer and says, more loudly, "Hey man, what do you do?" The farmer still doesn't respond. The cow, now annoyed, steps right up in front of the farmer and practically shouts "WHAT DO YOU DO?" The farmer yells back "I HERD YOU!"

Guy just called me to complain about the vending machines. I told him he has the wrong number, because we don't have vending machines. He asks "Isn't this the Whatever Hotel in Wherever?" I say "Nope." He goes "Oh, sorry," and hangs up. This is worth mentioning because he just accepted that he made a mistake, instead of doing what so many people do and try to argue with me that I must be wrong because they can't possibly be. Like when people come to check in, there is no reservation for them, and I ask "Is your reservation next door?" Too many of them, instead of checking their reservation, start arguing that it can't possibly be next door. If it was next door, then they would have gone there instead of coming here. So clearly, the problem is that this hotel is in the wrong place. This hotel should be next door, and that hotel should be here, that way the right place would be where they are.

See now with beef burgers I only like salt and pepper. I haven't had as much experimentation with bison burgers but a 6 pepper blend does sound like the way to go.
(on the meat itself s and P on the full burger I like all sorts of toppings.)

My girls asked to have a sleepover with some friends last night. I agreed, despite quarantine, since I know the kids and their families. My one request was that they don't get too crazy.
Now my home office is in the master bedroom, so I haven't been downstairs since a little after 10 last night when I headed up to bed. When I got down to the kitchen just now to make my morning coffee it looks like a bomb went off.
They apparently decided to make some chicken and cheese dip, in the crock pot, with buffalo sauce in it? How do I know? The crock pot is half full with some yellowy, chickeny crud stuff; half a raw chicken breast is sitting in the Styrofoam on the counter; the buffalo sauce has sat out all night long. This is not to mention the dishes piled in the sink, the half bag of chips laying open, the obvious soda spill that has turned into a sticky mess, and so on.
I spent an hour and a half cleaning the kitchen, breakfast nook and dining room yesterday. Most of that has been completely undone. In one night. It's only 9:10 am where I am, and I've already cycled through stressed, annoyed, disappointed, enraged, and now I'm down to exhausted.

I'm not sure what's laughable here. Its what my parents did. I recall numerous times where I was roughly hauled out of bed to clean up some mess or finish some incomplete chore.
This is by no means intended as an endorsement of such. Just saying there are parents who do that exact thing.

It's the idea that kids will automatically comply with such orders. As many, many parents have said, "Choose your battles wisely, and win every single one."
When Impus Major was 12 he refused to do his homework. We made him sit in a corner. For hours. He was perfectly happy sitting in a corner doing nothing for 4 hours, then doing straight to bed, because he "won", not having had to do any homework.
Saying, "Just make your kid do xxx," implies that your kid will automatically do what you tell them to do. From personal experience, unless you're willing to resort to physical violence, that's a really optimistic viewpoint.
