Despite taking 2 (3?) college programming courses, programming lingo still confuses the s+!! out of me. I've been told that some people are lucky enough to have grown up with Sesame Street-style tv programming that taught the basics of logic and computer theory.
I wish I had, because it is literally g(r)eek to me.

I started teaching myself programming with a book on basic and an Atari 800 at around 9. I still fail on a lot of the lingo myself, I have to admit. I've ended up a jack of all trades and master of none, but I like having my fingers in ten different pies at once, generally.
God, I'm old. 14 years of software dev experience. Would be more, but who doesn't want to teach English for a couple of years in Japan, no matter how much it sets their career back?

Never watched Star Trek, only Star Wars.
I found all the movies nice, yes Syrus.
I hated the Yuuzhan Vong series because the outcome was that Anakin died, Jacen fell to the dark side, and Jania had to kill him. And the whole thing in part was a family squabble that dragged in the galaxy, and getting a whole bunch of people killed. So maybe the earlier Jedi had it right - you should not get attached to others cos it messes up your judgement.

So anything other then that is an improvement.
I find Anakin rather emo, though. If you murderhoboed people who Murderhobo people you care for, they're not worth you feeling guilty over. The world's a better place without them and you should pet yourself on the back for that. Screw silly Jedi codes, just leave the Order, and get married, and be a senator's husband. Live happily ever after. Problem settled =)
Again I seriously doubt I'd be good Jedi material.
NH, I'd be willing to help you finish the Stella Artois. If I weren't 15,000 km away or so. I eat and drink nearly about anything. The last interesting thing to end up on my menu was a scorpion. In a lollipop.

About family. Yeah NH, it's nice when your family appreciates your cooking. Unfortunately for me, these days I prefer Caucasian style cooking, for its simplicity(since some Chinese recipes are really a pain in the @rse to prepare and the washing takes forever), and my parents prefer Chinese food. So I don't really do it much. In fact I haven't done a Chinese dish for a long long time...
I'd do almost anything for my family so having them not approving of my hobbies and telling me to stop does hurt me. I mean I'm not committing any crime! What's wrong in going for a session of D&D?

Which reminds me...a good friend of mine is going for some variant of the cheese grinder as a party. I told him to tell me his party composition but he doesn't know. And since it's local, probably everyone and their dog will be melee beatsticks again.
The cheesegrinder is at levels 5,7 and 9.
But I don't think going all melee beatsticks is the way to go.
He's asked me for help but the rules are against casters - you start with half your daily resources used, rounded down. If it's a solo BBEG, he gets to declare it passed a save once per battle even if he failed it. Which sort of screws up any slumber hex/misfortune usage.
Again after each fight you restock to that half of your daily resources, no matter what you expanded in the previous fight.
I provided him with a gnome dirge bard 2/sorcerer(impossible bloodline) /heavens oracle 2 for the level 5 category, and also a human hangover cleric of Ra. The hangover cleric can be scaled to 7 and 9.
Im currently working on a crossblooded boreal and arcane sorcerer with Wayang spell hunter and havoc of the society riding his flying hawk mauler familiar and dealing dazing flurry of snowballs....

I got my knowledge by reading books, and using my middle school's Apple IIe computers.

Maybe I had bad profs then, they were both first-timers. All I know is I stumbled my way thru C -- or was it C+? Or C++? I don't even know the difference -- and then would have completely failed Assembly if not for my partner who did 99% of the work. In an effort to explain how an algorithm can be written to count -- oh, and this was after the prof explained to me what 'algorithm' means (why not just say "program"?!) -- my Assembly prof asked me "How do you count things?"
To which I replied "I count them one by one...and then, um, they're counted."
It was that class that prompted me to switch to the electrical engineering program, which I was infinitely better at.

Mewtwo was good in RBY, but not so good in other versions so I've heard.
But basically psychic was OPed in RBY.
I always try to catch a Butterfree when I start a new pokemon version since psychic still works against most things.
I know Butterfrees have vulnerabilities a mile wide, like electricity, fire, psychic..but hey at least you know that confusion does do something.
Better then sending a Pikachu to fight a Geodude at least...

Speaking up for myself doesn’t come easily. The moment I open my mouth(I dumped cha), someone gets upset. And I get scolded for not showing respect for my elders etc.
I don’t like causing unnecessary conflict. That’s also why I have been trying to restrain myself rulelawyering in games but sometimes..I see that rule not followed…it irks me no end. It’s like a freaking boil that needs to be lanced. And of course when I finally say it, and the entire table gets upset with me. (Metagaming..etc…sigh)
TLDR: I’ve been told to just listen and don’t talk back.
Cooking – Eh my standard operating procedure for Spaghetti. Throw spaghetti into the boiling water that has a pinch of salt added to it. Leave the lid of the pot open. Play a hearthstone game. Once you’re done with it, check your spaghetti. It should be just right, assuming the person didn’t concede on his first round and actually put up a good fight. I’m not for lengthy procedures and all that, just keep it decent and simple.
I’ve been known for putting my muffins to bake, then playing hearthstone for 45 min before checking on them again. The way I know its cooked? If it’s cooked the muffins will tell me (there will be a delicious smell coming out).
Cue an argument with my mom that everything had to be measured right (in grams and all that). I measure using cups(measuring cups) instead of grams. Who the heck cares? It’s not as if I’m going for any baking competitions or whatsoever right?
I have some kind of measurement, but it isn’t fully precise – I sort of work by the feel of things. The muffins turn out right at the end of the day so I’m not too arsed anyway.
If it’s the first time I am attempting the recipe then yes I will be more careful about my observations.
We will not get into the arguments on she complains I fry the onions too brown, or fry the pork fat too brown when it comes to cooking(health nuts…). The thing is – if you want the flavour to come out, you’ll need to get it a little browner. And I do not believe that if you fry your onions or pork fat a little browner, you’re going to die of cancer. I mean yes I know burnt stuff causes cancer, but don’t you think that’s too much of a knee-jerk reaction?
I believe that a short life, well lived is better then a long life full of restraints.

For the record, in our games, bringing up a point (and even pointing out things that you think I may have missed, as GM) is super-okay, and I appreciate when you have solid arguments!
I am - now - vocally encouraging you to mention rules at me.
I may not agree with those interpretations, or mandate something else, but I'd rather be clear on it than either of us go on with presumptions about what the other is thinking (since we don't exactly have mind-reading abilities... OR DO I!? ... I do not... YET).
So long as, once it's clear we're on the same page (even if we disagree with the interpretation) we're all going to go in the direct I ultimately decide, having a rules discussion is super okay.

But I guess I've been pretty repressed. I'm fine if you tell me why I'm not supposed to do certain things, like don't wear black at night because people can't see you. So it might cause accidents.
Sure, that makes sense. I'll buy that.
But please don't pull out nonsensical stuff like if you turn a mattress at night, you'll be cursed with bad luck. Like how? Why? There's no scientific evidence!
Then when do you expect me to turn that mattress when I promised someone else I would?
You don't expect me to break my promises to another that I'd do something do you?
If you want to tell me there's a problem with the way I am doing things, don't just tell me there's a problem if you don't have a solution for it.

I disobeyed orders and moved it back at night. Say what you want about me, but I do what I promise to do.
The whole story: I suspected the mattress had bed bugs, so I moved into the hall for my aunt to inspect. I was going out for the rest of the day.
After I went to the doctor and realized my bites were not bedbug bites, I told my aunt about it, she told me to move the mattress back.
Cue me going out for the whole day, my mom tells me not to move the mattress at night. Saying it's bad luck.
Now I promised my aunt I would move it back onto the bed. So for my mom, if you didn't want me to move it back at night, am I supposed to leave it out in the hall the whole night?

Yes there are a whole bagful of customs here that no one would think off.
I should be more bothered by that sort of thing, since I am sensitive so I can actually sense the presence of otherworldly things. I've never seen them,thank goodness.
Basically it means if they want to bother me, they can. Unlike some lucky sobs who won't get to sense them at all.
And I don't have faith so I can't exactly banish them or tell them to skoot either.

OK, yeah. That's pretty twisted. What would she think of Kjeldorn's Midnight Movers™?
I understand a lot of folk traditions and folklore that made good sense in teaching kids good lessons or good behavior. I'm sure there was a reason someone taught their kids that moving beds at night is bad luck. But once you grow up into adulthood, you're supposed to realize that such traditions were there to teach you, not to adhere to.
Ah, well, probably wandering into politics. Where's Freehold, anyway? He hasn't yelled at me in HOURS...
