You got the reference~!
EDIT: ... would you believe I'd totally forgotten it was a beer ad, and was under the strong impression it was a cheese ad?
We used to sing, "Doo-be-doo-be-doo; beware the penguine; doo-be-doo-be-doo; oooo~ooooh; doo-be-doo-be-doo: behold the poooowwwwweeerrrr of cheese~!" in high school (there were more lyrics, but I certainly am not going to remember them).

Having Arbys today. Haven't had it in months. Its really all about their curly fries. That is really all I should get. Also is it just more or is Arby's actively at war with vegans? Have you seen their commercials?
I find Arby's entertaining because NobodysWife and I went there once, in the 1990's, and they were amazingly terrible. Then the Simpsons did a reference to how bad their food was.
We've never been back, in spite of the fact that people whose taste we trust (i.e., NOT Shiro) say that it's improved massively since then.

I'm still afraid of heights and bridges, but they don't own me.
My father was a physicist. He LOVED that video. Every year when his department held its open house, he'd have it on on infinite loop.

If you could go back to the 790s and do more burning, slaying and pillaging and less Whigfield, I think we'd all be a lot happier.

Tonight'll be "fun": I finally found a Himalayan spice shop that carries all my favorite curry pastes (Patak's curry paste, but their generic paste isn't that good; their madras is awesome). I decided to make a curry tonight, but the corner store doesn't carry lamb, and I do all my shopping on foot.
So I bought a 3.5-pound London broil.
It'll be my first beef curry ever, and this one'll be a vindaloo.
I'm curious as to how it'll turn out.
(In general I like to use curry pastes because they're a lot easier than grinding my own. I have 50 Great Curries of India and some of the recipes (for example, Butter Chicken) are amazing and worth self-grinding. But for "standards" like vindaloo and madras, the pastes are almost as good and way easier, so I use 'em.)

Freehold DM's math teacher.
that's just about any math teacher.
The priesthood mystique the discipline perhaps unintentionally generates along with the frustration inherent in teaching something someone loves to people who don't encourages a sadistic mindset at worst, gallows humor at best.

Is that Ving Rhames?? Doesn't sound like it to me . . . .
Regardless, Arby's commercials are declarations of open war against vegetarianism.
And I'm cool with it! lol
And they have gotten much better than they were back in the 90's, NH.
. . . . .
And now I'm hungry. Again.
EDIT: Rhames it is!! Huh.
Anyhow -- time to go make sandwiches.

What's funny about it to me is that the only visible message of the commercials is "meat is good, we sell primarily meat products, and our products are better than any alternative, especially meatless ones."
Which yeah is kinda aggressive toward vegan/vegetarians, but that's not their target market anyway.
But trying to do some research quick on the background of these commercials, I quickly found that Certain Parts of the Internet have extrapolated them to also include, in addition to anti-vegan, anti-feminist, anti-gender inclusuvity, and a ton of other antis that if delved further into would make this more political than FAWTL typically cares for.
All from a series of sandwich chain commercials.
The Internet is a silly place.

*de-beverages!*
Well, I've never!
I mean, I know that our attempt to settle on the British isles weren't perfect!
I'll be sure to tell the rest of the Danes to bring their A-game, next time we go on an almost 300 year long binge of murdering, looting, pillaging and enslavement.
(Personally I blame the Norwegians!...and Swedes, for some reason).
As for Whigfield...
Weaponization tests in the middle 90's proved unsatisfactory. So we put our faith in "Project Bubblegum Dance"!
*Wrings hands and laughs maniacally!*

We've discussed this! Repeatedly! Stop abusing the poor commas, you filthy heathens!
I have a coworker that I have to ask her to send me anything she writes before she sends it out company-wide. If you're starting a new sentence, you do not use a comma! She runs on all her sentences, and it's beyond frustrating.

So this is one of those frustrations that I think every group runs into: Our immediate group has 7 games running right now, with a total of 18 players. Of those 7 games, I'm running 4 of them.
Yet now that 3 of those games are wrapping up, we're finding a remarkable shortage of GMs:
And that's our entire list of "willing" GMs, with the exception of Impus Minor, who really wants to GM, but doesn't yet have the organizational skills to keep himself going, nor the stubborn-headedness to herd recalcitrant players. Once I wrap up Serpent's Skull, I'm going to invite him to GM the kids' game and I'll co-GM for him.
Anyway, looks like I'll be having a free weekend day starting in January or February. I may be able to... *gasp*... work on my garage or something!
