I'll have to catch up on seven pages tonight, but two things:

Mairkurion sounds so professorial, even on call-ins to Atomic Array. :)

Oh, and I got an offer for the job in Atlanta.

Oops, three things--the third being another of my monsters on KQ. Another "honorable mention" for King of the Monsters. ;)

Silver Crusade

Congrats on the job! (And the KQ beastie.)

Badger! Congratulations!

Also, there is PIE in the oven.

Dark Archive

Yay!!! I got a day off, now to spend it cleaning the apartment cooking supper, baking pies, and then looking at my paizo order that arrived today.

You'll have to give me the key to the pie shop...again.

Email from Yumi:

Dear Jessica
I'm so sorry.
It took a long time just reply to you.
I'm in Kagawa and I work at a welfare institution as an an office worker .
It's a kind of boring , but not irregular job , so it's easy to take a holiday.
I hope to see you soon.
But now, I guess you know about terrible earthquake.
I don't know what I can do for them except donations.
I praied in a Shinto shrine so many times , but not enough.
If possible, could you ask your God not to have more aftershock, please.
I hope things are going well for you,too and take care for yourself.

Yumi

She was my fellow English teacher when I taught elementary children's classes.

:( I was in Japan for 9/11, and the teachers and people there were so nice. I'm so sad they face such a tragedy themselves.

I can't fathom the devastation Japan experienced.

In good news, I heard from Yumi, my best friend from Japan, and she's still living in Kagawa-ken, and is fine. She asked for prayers and well wishes for Japan. I inquired after her friends and family, but haven't heard back.

My second cousin lives in Japan with her husband. I haven't heard if they're OK. Guess I need to call her mother. Been praying for them all since this started.

Finally talked to her mom. They're in the south so they're fine. :)

Have to see if I have a few dollars leftover after the bills to send to the Red Cross.

Sorry that LPM has been MIA, busy weekend. But rest assured I'm not KIA, just too tired to play much. Miss you guys, and I'll be back in full swing later this week.

Well, no wonder, man, you're drinking decaf. ;P

Actually I've never really noticed any appreciable flavor difference between decaf and regular, but I can't live without the caffeine. :)

At this time of night, it's got to be decaf, unless I want to stay up half the night. Amazingly, Costco's ground can of decaf is dark roast and very good...considering that their can of regular coffee is undrinkable.

Yeah, that's something I will never have to contend with. Caffeine makes me sleepy. I used to drink a pot of coffee just before bedtime every night just so I could sleep. For some reason my doctor found that concerning and prescribed sleeping pills instead.

lol. Yes, because medical school is sooo easy. :P

Oh, and in other news, I got my quiz back today and the prof was merciful about the confusing question and gave me full points! Yay! Still on track for an A-. :)

Also the kidlet had a fantastic day at school today. Not only no hitting or biting, but he participated all day and did not only all his work, but a little extra too. I let him pick an extra special prize as a reward. So very proud of him. :)

I feel so bad I've got a worried mind

I'm so lonesome all the time
Since I left my baby behind on Blue Bayou

Saving nickels, saving dimes, working 'till the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times on Blue Bayou
I'm going back some day come what may to Blue Bayou
Where you sleep all day and the catfish play on Blue Bayou

All those fishing boats with their sails afloat If I could only see
That familiar sunrise through sleepy eyes, how happy I'd be

Go to see my baby again
And to be with some of my friends
Maybe I'd be happy then on Blue Bayou

I'm going back some day, gonna stay on Blue Bayou
Where the folks are fine and the world is mine on Blue Bayou
Oh, that girl of mine by my side the silver moon and the evening tide
Oh, some sweet day gonna take away this hurtin' inside
I'll never be blue, my dreams come true on Blue Bayou

You're welcome, Woody my man.

Here's an encore.

Just a quick post to shout CONGRATULATIONS TAIG on the job offer.

Day 1 of my wife's revived homebrew campaign was great. Unfortunately, I have to go to bed now. Sucks having to work while everyone else is on Spring Break.

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

Thanks, everybody!

My wife and I talked it over, and we're OK being a little more separated for a little while. My daughter will be moving with me so she can start high school down there.

I like the company..at least the glimpse I got during the interview. :)

I will now help!

I really liked Max Lager's in Atlanta.

Congrats, taig. Good to hear that things are working out for you on the job front. :)

I also really recommend Meehan's, and not just for drinks and pub grub, but for a full Irish breakfast.

Once my friend and I found these two places, we ate (and drank) there more than any other places in the Atlanta area. Sometimes, more than once a day!

I'm not sure I could bring my 15 year old daughter there, though.

Even for breakfast?

Thanks for those who offered their condolences on my sunburnt feet a few pages back. I’m happy to report that I can walk without limping today.

Oh and Mairkurion, I actually do like the beach too. If nothing else I like the view ;-) I’m just mad at myself for not taking better care in the sun, I should (and normally do) know better.

Liberty's Edge

Geez, the news is just getting worse and worse from Japan. So many people missing (many, many of them no doubt dead), people without homes, heating, electricity, food ... and now the latest explosion and radiation threat at the nuclear power plant.

While the Japanese government is saying the radiation threat is only a danger within a 30km radius of the plant, I have heard from friends in the Philippines and Indonesia that there is minor panic in those countries as there has been some (hopefully mis-)information that they are going to be hit by dangerous radiation levels there. I’m fairly sure that’s not correct – from all I have heard through official channels even in the event of a full meltdown the dangerous levels of radiation will be fairly isolated. I hate to think of what it would mean for Tokyo if that were not the case.

Im like you I don't tan I am either white or lobster red... My mates used to call me Omo man (Omo was a washing powder) because my skin was whiter than white... They would say don't lay down in the sand because we will never find you. It kinda sucked living in a tropical coastal town.... Ballina home of the Big Prawn.

Huzzah! Found out that my group is finally going to be rid of this really insufferable douchebag who's been working for us for a while now. And my boss is pissed at the guy because the boss went out of his way to get the guy hired on with us, and now he's just up and leaving. What a dick.

Sorry to hear you're losing your job.

Oh wait... :)

Seriously, I'm glad that the guy is leaving. It doesn't take much to create a toxic work environment.

Mailing some more Pathfinder stuff today. Wheeee! Only one person left to go.

I'll be turn in in my two-week notice today too. My current job really feels like it was the "rebound girlfriend", even though I was the one who did the "breaking up" with my previous. :)
