Nothing ever gets cancelled due to snow in Finland!

It's very rare that anything gets cancelled in central New York, either. My city is the 4th snowiest city in the country. When I was still at Syracuse University, we didn't have a single day of class cancelled. I don't know what's changed-- maybe the local public schools are under some kind of regulation that they have to shut down if X amount of snow falls.

This is ridiculous. Out of the first six days of my electrical tech class, two have been cancelled due to snow.

still love Dizzy, but baiken is my all time favorite character.

Was stupidly late to work this morning due to sleet and mta acting stupid. Two buses passed me and there were no cabs. It happens every now and again, but this was ridiculous - I waited almost 40 minutes for a bus that would stop along with a small army of people.

40% threshold on current project passed. Will finish by Wednesday, or faster. Assuming no unpredicted problems.

Now time to get to Mage session. It would be nicer if there weren't cold wet snow everywhere around.

Sweet, both seasons of RWBY are on Netflix streaming. Easier than watching through YouTube.

Crunchyroll also has them. And it is totally awesome watching them all together. *hugs his blu-ray discs*

I've been thinking about picking them up, but haven't done so yet.

RWBY????

I know I've been busy lately, but I feel like I'm missing something?

Belated happy Frightful Friday to Dr. FrankenBadger!

Belated thanks to everyone for congrats that one of my submissions got into Wayfinder #13. Now, if I only knew which one(s?) made it in and which didn't.

Thanks!

Congratulations on getting at least one submission into Wayfinder! I edited 5 articles this weekend, and none of them were yours. Maybe next round...

Morning FaWtLers. Hope everyone is having a good day today, and had a lovely weekend. A little dull here, but not too cold, only a gentle breeze and mildly cloudy. All around mild, so no real complaints. :)

So far I've had one day off due to snow in my lifetime - and considering some of the snowdrifts were chest high and there'd been no snow when I went to bed the previous day I suspect even Finns would have at least made it a half-day.

...Although once you get up towards Lapplandish latitudes, they're slightly weird in both countries. Must be the giant mosquitoes they get in summer.

Speaking of eggs, as I was making said hardboiled eggs, a huge spider rappelled down from the stovetop vent right into the pot of boiling water and promptly died. Spiders are dumb.

What about spam, spam, eggs, spam, eggs, and spam?

That's pretty good as well.

RIP Charlotte. She probably confused Mr. Shiny for Mr. Stardust and just wanted to audition for you as a backup singer.

I think it may have had something to do with the steam affecting the silk and maybe causing the spider to lose control.

I like spiders.

IF EGGS STOOD STILL, THEY WOULD HAVE BOILED, FRIED, SCRAMBLED, AND QUICHE AS 4 BREAKFASTS. EACH ROTATION OF A CHICKEN COOP HAS 4 BIG-ENDIANS, 4 LITTLE-ENDIANS, 4 BROWN-SHELLS AND 4 WHITE-SHELLS.

IGNORANCE OF 3-MINUTE EGG-HARMONIC CUBIC NATURE INDICTS HUMANS AS PART OF THIS COMPLETE BREAKFAST.

Man it is beautiful out today. Mid 60s, slightly breezy, partly cloudy. Went for a walk on lunch. It was awesome.

Go for a nice leisurely walk, leave my jacket in the car as I won't need it, and enjoy the cool breeze and overcast sky with some music and a snack.

And eagerly await the continuing warming. No rain predicted all week and the temperature's supposed to hover around 60, dipping just below and/or above through the weekend. I'd honestly prefer it a tad bit warmer, but wearing long sleeves this is still comfy walking weather.

Grand Lodge

It has been nice to be able to wear my long sleeve shirts these past months, but it is also nice to be able to put on the shorts today.

Bleargh. We're five months away from that kind of weather thankfully.

Not to say that I didn't walk out in the snow in shorts and a t-shirt when I lived in Ohio.

I can't help but imagine FH with like five fans on his desk and desperately fanning himself in 70-degree weather, gulping down glass after glass of ice water and wondering why it's so hot.

I have been known to do this in 80 degree weather, actually.

For the second time in as many months, a musician that I used to hang out with has decided that he's "made it big" (i.e. gotten mentioned on Pitchfork Media) and made a big stink about deleting all of his non-famous Facebook friends. If I ever "make it big," the first thing I'm going to do is bomb Chicago so this never happens again.

Whereas my apartment thermostat varies between 65 and 75 all winter, and I am immensely envious of Ebon for her high-70s/80s weather right now.

It's been millennia (well, one millennium passed) since I was going into snow in T-shirt and very light jacket on it. I am too old for that crap now.
