LOL. Yeah...but I think you'll kick my butt... I think 'over-all' Kira's more skilled...
The Fighter Wizard path is REALLY hard to be effective in PF. I almost am crippled until 5th level when Sunamber can finally take... 'Arcane Armor Training'... until then... he'll suck as a spell caster.
If you're a decent fighter... you suck as a spell caster... but if your an ok spellcaster you are WORTHLESS as a fighter... almost. The thing that you need most ...ARMOR and BAB is a least available to you... until higher levels.
Kiravethran Orlekennyrlylth |
This is why I like the way I have Kira set up. He is a caster first and as a far second a rogue. Though he is also quite the skills monkey. I see him as a useful swiss army knife.
<Sunamber> Alaerin Summerhawke |
:) Yeah...but I don't mind Sunamber's limitations. I wasn't trying to build a 'super-character'. I'll still have fun playing him. Can't wait until We Start! :)
Kiravethran Orlekennyrlylth |
Ah Kira has plenty of limitations mainly his AC and HP so he will be avoiding melee when he can. I can't wait to play either really excited about this character.

Hey Alannah,
How about Alannah and <SUNAMBER> having met in their travels? She is amnesiac ...right?
How about them meeting by ...accident. They both were in a village traveling to different locations and just staying the night in the village when that evening the village was assaulted by waves of Titan-spawn. They were...effectively forced to help defend the town from the raiding creatures all night long and into the dawn as the raiders sieged the town. It had a wooden palisade around it...like a fort and it was mainly due to the two young heroes efforts that the village survived the night.
In the morning... the town milita was organized to go seek out the raider's lair and kill their leader...
{Very much the same story-line as the 13th Warrior basically)
<SUNAMBER> and Alannah 'Silverbow' were among the few who returned from the strike... victorious, both having proved their skill as an effective team they decided to travel together. <SUNAMBER> seeking to improve his fighting skill and magic ...while helping Alannah find her past.
<SUNAMBER> is like that - helping people in need if he can, and his 'chivalrous' streak would tend him to help a woman who is ... sort of in-distress, lost even to herself. Though her skill with a bow has definitely earned his respect... he does not see her as 'helpless'.
<SUNAMBER> knows how terrible it can be to be completely alone... bereft of friends and family, from his own relatively lonely childhood.
There might even be a, more than slight, attraction to the independent, and capable young archer woman. :)
Roll-Call:
Cintar Tasu - human/male, cleric [NEMOREA] 3 (LN)
Kiravethran Orlekennyrlylth - elf/male, Rogue 1 / Wizard[Elementalist-Fire] 2 (CG)
Nuve Orlekennyrlylth - elf/female, Witch 3 (CN)
Elmario Benisci - human[Shelzari]/male, Ranger {Urban} 3 (CN)
Tomas "Stonewall" Tirmauld - human/male, Barbarian 1 / Paladin[COREAN] 2
<SUNAMBER> Alaerin Summerhawke - half-elf/male, Fighter 2 / Wizard[Evoker] 1 (CN)
Alannah Silverbow - human/female, Fighter {'Ranged'} 3 (?)
EDIT: LOL... fixed Kira! :)

<SUNAMBER> Alaerin Summerhawke -...
Sounds good to me
<Sunamber> Alaerin Summerhawke |
{Grin!} Sweet.
Some things Alannah would know traveling with SUNAMBER...
He is a perfect gentleman... no leering looks, no fast hands, no suggestive comments - he treats her like a lady of court with respect and trust in battle. He is constantly thinking of her needs before his own... 'that chivalrous streak again' and is very protective of her in battle... though not to the point of annoyance. He often refers to her as 'milady' in front of others... showing respect for her and establishing their equal partnership to any who ask... he does not 'assume' the leadership. He always asks her opinion of tactics and works to come up with a plan in battle made up of both of their ideas. He is a pretty skillful battle tactician... very much aware of what it takes to win.
:) He is a sucker for a sob story... always going out of his way to help... but mindful to secure some form of payment or reward for Alannah's efforts. There are a lot of 'quests' he would do for free as he has this ...kinda hero complex... though he denies it. He is always ready to defend children and is generous with his money with the poor and needy.
His magic is not currently very powerful...but what he does have is quite impressive. He spends at least an hour every evening studying, and every morning practicing his swordwork.
He is a little self-conscience around women... especially pretty ones. It is easy to make him blush. He is not...really sure how to handle Women... and can often fall prey to manipulation by them.
For a half-elf his is very young... not quite to his full maturity, which makes his fighting and spell prowess all the more impressive... he is quite competent... if young.
SUNAMBER is ...curiously very devout... often remarking how COREAN or TANIL will shine favor down on pious efforts. He worships both equally fervently. He is respectful of priests and the elderly...showing proper difference to their wisdom and age. Many times in battle he will call upon COREAN to strengthen his swordarm or TANIL to guide his aim.
If they have adventured for a while... he will tell Alannah his real name Alaerin Summerhawke... as mark of friendship with him...as he usually uses only his 'Wizard's Name' in public. His familiar Hawk Asani... is impressive - large for a hawk and his feathers are indeed tinted somewhat red. SUNAMBER plays his Harp every-so-often serenading his hawk in flight... he does not play for others in public. But if Alannah has become a close friend... he will play for her, again, a mark of friendship... he does not offer to play for others, and practices in solitude.
SUNAMBER loves animals, he takes very good care of his Horse - Cloud, a cream colored Bay. But with Alannah's company he often lets her ride Cloud more often than he does if they are travelling in harsh terrain... that 'chivalrous-streak again'.
SUNAMBER is a romantic... often going out of his way to protect those 'In-love', and assist families... husbands and wives especially.
In battle SUNAMBER has the heart of a lion... couragous and seemingly without fear. Often he will 'sacrifice' himself to draw attacks of opportunity away from Alannah... if they get in an overrun position.
He is constantly seeking information about Alannah's past in their adventures... he bends all his efforts to helping her and is wary of those who might try to take advantage of her lack of memories... its sweet his protectiveness and care of her. He has not forgotten his promise to help her find her home.
SUNAMBER is Very honorable... his promise is his bond. Once his word is given he will not fail to fulfill. But he rarely gives his word... and has no compunction about dealing falsely with the false. Though he does not like such underhanded deeds... he feel COREAN does not find favor with such actions. He is a believer in the just and the unjust getting whats coming to them.
But, all in all, a very gently young man... sensitive after a fashion. Truly a young hero in the making.

Guys, I've been trying to put this off as long as I could, but now I have no choice: The company I work for let go a half of it's people yesterday. I was not one of them, but this move means that my job got a lot harder. I'll have to work longer hours - even longer than I've been so far - and that means 12 hour work days, essentially. I'll most certainly not be able to run pbps, so I have decided to put all of my games, except Midnight, on pause. I really can't say at the moment how long the pause will last, but it seems that it will last for two months at least. I fully plan to return to this and other games I've been running or preparing.
I am truly sorry for inconveniencing you all. This economy has been a b@!@! so far and I really have to work more in order to keep my job. I really hate when RL interferes with my gaming, but there it is. I do hope that you understand and that you'll return to the game when I once again have the time to run it.
Thank you all.

Here's to better economic times for you! I've got a temp job which is halfway decent (and good for a few more months), but my roommates job of the last 15 years just evaporated out from under him, so I know how it can mess with your free time, both trying to do multiple people's worth of work after friends get laid off, and shopping around for a new job for when your layoff-avoidance-skill check finally rolls that 1.
No worries about the game stuff. Focus on what's important. I enjoy the process of creating characters at least as much as playing them.
It's when play starts that all my careful planning goes to hell anyway, and the character turns into someone completely different than I had imagined him to be. Darn imaginary constructs. Very inconsiderate of them to snatch the pen away and start writing themselves. :)

Thanks for your understanding, guys. I can't complain, really. I still have a job, after all. I work at home. And I am well paid for my country standards. But it's hard to see friends loose their jobs and not feel a bit guilty. Also, I have to work harder for the same amount of money and that's never fun.
<Sunamber> Alaerin Summerhawke |
Yeah, don't take my words to close to heart. I KNOW all about the ...frustrations with finding work. I understand...completely... just a little disappointed is all. I was REALLY looking forward to playing. I even went for two different games hoping at least one would pan out..lol! Take your time. Real world stuff IS more important...
I'll just patiently wait...
:)

While waiting I ended up putting the character in another pbp. If this one takes off again I can clone her at level 3.
I have noticed, Mark. I am putting my notes together, but you may get the opportunity to play your character from my Eberron game. Or at least a clone of her of some kind. I am working on version 2.0 of my campaign setting and my next pbp game will most probably be a playtest of some classes and some home rules. One of the classes I want to playtest is Cavalier with Hound Master archetype (from this year's RPG Superstar), but I am working on how to blend it with Samurai (which will be slightly different), but more on that a bit later...

So what is to happen to this and Korvosa if I might ask? And if you are going to run a different game instead could me and Cyra possibly switch to that one? I'd be very interested in trying out the ninja playtest.

I like the look of the Hound Master. Keep me posted.

I am not killing Korvosa. The game is on hold right now. Scarred Lands hasn't even started yet, so I may decide to roll it in this new game or continue with it as is. I don't know yet. Either way, that's at least a month from now. And I still have a lot of work with my Midnight game, which is the oldest of my active games and most active by far.
nightflier |
Guys, please check out this thread. This will start sooner than my Scared Lands game. Good news are that my work load is lessening, so that I may even start this game again. But, for now, please check out my Midnight game.

This thread has been resurrected!
Guys, I am back now. My work load is much lessened and I am once again in the position to run several games. If there are any who are still interested in playing, we can begin this game in one weeks time - that is, next Monday.
Excellent news!
I may be a little slow in posting until the end of the month, but I'm still interested.
Elmario Benisci |
I'm waiting for others to make it known if they are still interested. I may start recruitment thread again if I don't get enough old players.
We might want to keep this thread active while we wait; I only noticed your post because I decided to check in on a whim.

I have bumped the Recruitment Thread as well.

Here is the Recruitment Thread for the new Scarred Lands game. If I get enough players, I'll open new DT.

I'm happy with or without Gestalt, I enjoyed your Kaledun game with it, but I've got a character in mind without it (not that it would be a difficult matter to tweak him slightly.)
It'll probably be easier for Elmario to stick with his current point buy, but in case this gives him room for a positive Con modifier, here's the rolls:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
edit: Is it a strict rule that both traits need to be from your profile, or can I keep the two I'd originally taken?
