I looked over the Incarnate, and I don't think it's convertible, with the changes to shapeshifting / wild shape. (The Locus Master, another favorite, doesn't look like it will convert well, for that matter.)
So, if I go Druid, it won't be focused in that direction.
For a Cleric, I'd be inclined to go Dwarf, headed for Rune Master. I like the idea of making him one of the rare wood dwarves that used to inhabit the Hornsaw in numbers, so he'd follow Tanil, which would defy the expectations of more traditional Burok Torn dwarves, who tend to follow Goran, and help to explain his, explaining his wandering ways.
A Wizard (conjuration specialist) headed for the Summoner PrC would be awesome, but if scranford wants to play a PF Summoner, that would be a bit too much Summony goodness, I think, and I've got plenty of other options. :) (And the Summoner PrC also could work with a Druid or Cleric, if we end up with room for a divine caster.)
If we end up with a plethora of arcane and divine spellcasting options, I also have an idea for an Darakene-trained Fighter, from the more tribal subpopulation who started out as an undisciplined Barbarian, and worked his way into serving as a living 'training dummy' at one of the fighting schools, hoping to earn enough respect in the training ring to be accepted for formal training (or, at least, pick up some tips from getting beat up by the actual students...). He'd focus on dual short swords, and be headed for the Nine-Stings Master PrC from the Players Guide to Fighters and Barbarians.
So, to sum up, I've got ideas for a Cleric, Druid, Wizard (conjuror) or Fighter type banging around, depending on what slot needs fillin.'
Edit: Oh Em Gee. Hollowfaust? Woot! That's where I ran my game! Gotta go to work, but I'll noodle around that while I'm there and see what sort of ideas that inspires. Cleric of Nemorga? Necromancer? Fighter headed for Unfailing? Oooh...

Ramel is a Shelzari born orphan who at a youg age became a virtual slave to a petty criminal. Simple theft were the way of life he knew until the day when he tried to swipe a coin pouch of a wealthy merchant lady. This "merchant" was actually a traveling Wizard. The wizard noticed the theft and nearly jilled youg Ramel. The wounds he suffered would have been enough to kill him if he hadn't been healed by the "angel". Ramel's "angel" was a cleric of Madriel that was a member of the same adventuring band as the wizard. After she convinced the wiz to have some pity on the boy she dropped Ramel off at the only decent orphanage in Shelzar "Amah's Orphange" with a special instructions to her local clergy to "look in on the boy, his heart is still good".
The boy grew up and his heart was good. He never met the "angel" but as he grew he turned away from the chaos and crime of the city and dedicated his life to the Redeemer.
The man is quiet but now he travels leading by example.
Cross between Storm and Oliver twist backstory.
If the charecter doesn't fit I have so many others I want to try.

Set. If you want to go with the conjurer / summoner I could give the magus a try. Been wanting to try out this class anyway...that is if Nightflier is good with it before the official release.
I'm more interested in a Cleric of Nemorga right now, thanks to the notion of playing in Hollowfaust. (Even if not in Hollowfaust, a human Cleric of Tanil, headed for Summoner, or dwarven Cleric, headed for Rune Master, could be fun.)
Unless someone else wants the Cleric slot, that'll probably be my thing.
Cleric seems to be my default class. :)

Ok Nightflier would you allow the daggerspell mage and daggerspell shaper Prc? Me and Cyra thought that the daggerspell guild could easily fit in the hornsaw forest.
The elves there are in a constant struggle with the titanspawn there. So they could be an elite group of guardians there. And our characters could be members sent out for some reason, would come up with the reason as more information is released as to what is going on in this story.

The concepts so far seem to leave open a gap for a martial type;
I'm thinking a Shelzari Urban Ranger, through whose veins runs the blood of 'Qashami', the black dragon which seems to be allowing itself to he held captive in Shelzar's Menagerie. The character would have no idea that is the source of his strange physiology, and eventual arcane talent (aiming for Dragon Disciple), but I imagine the dragon has some plans for him.
He would have been an active member of the Shelzari criminal organisations, and a good way of getting him to Hollowfaust is to have a rival faction decide he was too much trouble to keep alive, forcing him to flee the city.

I would like to play a Coreanic paladin of the order of Mithril, and depending on your vision for the game he could be headed toward Mithril Knight.
He was an orphan running the streets of Mithril but one day he saw the golem move. In his heart he heard the the words, "I have chosen you." Changed by this experience he went to apply for the priesthood and caused no small stir with his assertions. No one else saw the golem move and some took it as a sign from Corean, and others as a sign that the young man was mad.
After spending some time in the seminary, his martial talents were discovered and he was made a paladin. He was schooled by a wise old priest who assured him that the Champion had great things in store for him. After this he began having visions. His mentor told him it was sin to ignore the visions and urged him to follow them. Thus he arrives at the starting place of the adventure.

Nice idea for background. If you work it up a little, you may get a bonus feat from that.

Regardless of his heritage, or perhaps because of the mystery surrounding it, Elmario has forged for himself a fearsome reputation in the criminal underground of Shelzar as a brutal and efficient enforcer for the Sa’an Syndicate. Unfortunately for Elmario, such a career is unavoidably going to attract numerous enemies, both powerful and vindictive. One such enemy, the proprietor of one of the subterranean skin dens, named Jarveed Mayoss, who has lost several major sources of ‘performers’ due to Elmario’s actions, has taken covert action to see to the young enforcer’s untimely demise. Had it not been for a serendipitous event, whereby the orders to kill the young man were carelessly kept on the person of an unsuccessful assassin, he would have never known of the danger, but as it is, he has taken the information as a sign that he should temporarily take his leave of the City of Sins. Where he will travel to, he does not know, only that it must be far away from the influence of his local enemies.
Unbeknownst to Elmario, his father is one of the gamekeepers at the Shalzar Menagerie, who had been magically charmed by the ‘captive’ black dragon Qashami and infused with a measure of her own blood. Elmario’s resultant birth has been marked therefore with the blood of dragons, causing his unusual features, and gifting him with a yet unawakened arcane talent. Qashami’s influence in the city has subtly provided the boy with the opportunities he needed to build his reputation, and it was her manipulations which lead to the threat on his life being revealed. To what purpose the dragon has orchestrated Elmario’s birth and life is unknown…

Here is a very very brief backstory of Kyranvethran Orlekennyrlylth, assuming the daggerspell mage is allowed of course.
Kyranvethran Orlekennyrlylth was adopted into the Daggerspell Guardians from a young age his parents had both been member and when they were killed in action he was brought in as family. He was originally going to be shown how to fight with two daggers to protect himself, but he also began to show an aptitude for the arcane as well.
He then began the rigorous training of both the martial aspect of his gift and the arcane as well. He never understood why some of the people he spared against wasted so much energy when fighting he instead used just enough to cut and placed those strikes in areas where they would cause the most damage. He was also fascinated by the way fire consumed and cleansed all things. He decided he would focus his lessons on the element of fire vowing to use it and his daggers to cleanse the hornsaw forest of the titanspawn who threatened his people.
More to come as soon as I find out if the Prc is allowed or not. Also are there any elven dagger style weapons in Scarn?

The Broadreach elves of the Hornsaw Forest (once a wonderful elven magical woodlands, contaminated and tainted by the death of the Titaness Mormo, a titan of snakes and venom, who exploded into a mass of deadly vipers when she was torn apart by the four gods that ganged up on her) use a type of dagger they call a 'roundknife' that is mechanically pretty much a standard dagger, but can't be thrown and has +4 to resist being disarmed.
The roundknife looks like an axe-blade, but instead of a handle, where an axe-head would have the thicker backside, there's a fist-sized indentation and a handle. Equipped, the blade faces directly out from your knuckles, like a punch-dagger, only with a curved blade that you slash with, instead of a puncturing dagger. The closest I've found online is the ulu knife.
Normal daggers are also used by those elves (which are pretty much the Scarn equivalent of wild / wood elves), and the various other elves of the continent (or from the next continent over, where they are much more common, and more like the high and gray elves of other settings). Broadreach elves seem to prefer curving blades, and even sickles (and exotic double sickles), so even a standard 'dagger' might have a curved blade (they seem to prefer curves towards the point of impact, more like falcata than a scimitar).

Tomas was not always called such. In fact, as a small boy the only name he recalls being called was "Stonewall". He had the name because as an orphan running the streets he was often a force that simply could not be overcome by physical violence.
On one occasion he was supposed to guard the back of a leader of his gang who planned some mischief against a rival gang. When the rival gang gave chase the leader slipped by him and told him to hold that spot. He did. A mere boy, he kept the others at bay through sheer ferocity and stubbornness. BY the time the city watch had come, battered and bleeding at his feet were no less than a dozen thugs. Tomas himself was punch drunk and and fighting for consciousness because of his lack of blood. The name "Stonewall" stuck and he wore it like a badge.
On another occasion several years later, as a young teenager "Stonewall" was taken on a high risk scheme at the Agora. Little did young "Stonewall" understand the politics of a thieves guild and that this scheme had two purposes.
The first was a rather clever bait and switch robbery set up. With so many merchants in one place a younger guild member would steal from a merchant wares and his fellows would "catch" him at and yell for the guard. As the guard came running they would appear to try apprehend the young thief, but of course he would get away. With the guard distracted by several of these set-ups happening at once, the real robbery would begin. Of course having their money stolen only made the merchants yell louder and would draw the guards away from where the next mark was. This was working just as it should and when the time came to leave young "Stonewall" was told what he had heard so many times before, "Hold this spot." and he tried. But before he had always been up against untrained street thugs or at worst a few guardsmen.
The second goal of the scheme was now in full swing; the disposal of "Stonewall". As the guard attacked him him fought back with everything he had. It was not enough, and for the first time in his life, he failed to hold the line. As he lay there, beneath the shadow of the Golem, dying, he saw the Golem move. It transfixed him and the pain in his body was replaced by wonder at this singular event.
Horatio Fimrin is a priest of Corean and in his sincere daily supplication he asks to be of use to the Champion. In general despair about the state of Mithril, especially when compared with Calastia he forever would ask how he could better serve his Lord. On the morning of the Agora scheme he heard a voice in his heart telling him to go to the Agora. There for hours until he witnessed the chaos the thieves caused, he tried to help restore order but the city guard was having difficulty with this task, as were the paladins that had rushed to the scene. Horatio found his heart in even greater despair. Had Corean spoken to him at all? Surely he had not sent him here to witness that he was ineffectual in stopping the disorder caused by some street toughs. And then he heard the voice again, telling him to follow the guard after the departing thieves. And he did. And it was there that he found the near dead body of "Stonewall" and the voice came one last time and told him to help the boy.
The boy lay there murmuring "It moved." while his broken body mended. When he was conscious again, he told the priest his story and though Horatio was initially skeptical he became convinced that the boy had seen what he had seen. His story was not always so well received. No one else had seen it and believing that a street tough had seen something the high priesthood had not was hard for many to swallow.
Changed, "Stonewall" began to study and tried to learn more about Corean and the priesthood and most importantly, the Golem. And the priest tried to learn about "Stonewall". As Horatio got to know him he realized that the boy truly had no name that he knew except for his moniker.
Feeling that "Stonewall" needed a new name, and one befitting his change of heart he asked the "Stonewall" what he would think if he were to be called "Tomas". He considered and suddenly his eyes grew wide in recollection of the early history of the Coreanic paladins. "Like Tomas Tirmauld?" he asked. The old priest nodded.
"Indeed, you have the same sort of heart as that man. That man who with a company of 18 paladins found himself surrounded by armies of orcs on the Plains of Lede. That man who had lasted for 4 days against their attacks, and who had spent the night fashioning a hiding place for his squire beneath the earth so that the widows of these fine men would know that their husbands had died as heroes. That man who on his last day had worried about water for his men, and had forgone his own ration despite being parched and sunburned. That man, who when the orcs charged again, had not waited for them, but had charged at them as well, and all who saw him saw his countenance changed so he look like Corean himself. He slew countless orcs, dozens, maybe hundreds in that final battle and many times that on those days before. That man who had placed himself as a dot in the sand that could not be avoided because he was such an affront to their monstrous pride, and yet they could not go through him because he simple would not yield. Suffering horribly he fought on. He was not so unlike you young man, not unlike you at all. And now Corean has focused you and I do believe it is his will that you make something of yourself."
The newly named Tomas wept, and said to Horatio, "I have come to call you father, and truely you are the only man I have called this. I did hope one day I might be found worthy to have your name of Fimrin."
"Nay boy, there is better blood than that in you. I think Tirmauld suits you nicely." the old man said with tears in his eyes. He was moved by the Tomas's simple sincerity.
"I have no proof that any such blood is in my veins, Father"
"And I have no proof that such is not the case."
The matter was settled then and there though this did not stop the grumbling of some, who thought the movement of the Golem Tomas claimed was a lie and now this name? This name was pure hubris!
Somewhere in the next few years it became clear that he was not suited to be a priest. He preferred direct action and was quite a capable fighter. Using his dwindling influence Horatio saw the now young man trained to be a paladin. Tomas advanced in his training easily and had an instinct for both combat and religion. It was during this training that he began to have dreams, or visions as Horatio called them. At first he resisted, but Horatio assured him that avoiding these dreams would be a sin and a direct affront to Corean. So he started to follow them.
He would see an accident and move to stop it before it happened. He would anticipate the correct studying for a surprise exam the next day. He would understand things that had never been taught him except in these visions. And while these visions helped him and those around him, they provided no end of trouble for those jealous of him. He was a proud lying charlatan they whispered, and it with his charm it would not be long until they were being instructed by him. They seethed, but all of this seemed to miss the attention of Tomas. He went about everything, putting the best of himself into it and improving nearly daily. He finished his training and was a full paladin.
One day he had a vision of a black wolf following him. It followed him everywhere he walked in the dream and grew larger and larger. Finally he had to run from Mithril to escape its hungry maw. Telling Horatio about this saddened the old man, but they both knew what this meant and so he gathered his things, and saying goodbye he left to find what destiny the Champion had prepared for him.

Sigil and MA: Ophans giving up a life of crime after some good old fashoned divine experiences
Havoc: Stabbing and Casting his way to a better Hornsaw

I think that could be an intersting group for Nightflier to weave a story with.

“Yeah?” his struggling friend asked, breathing heavily from exertion, “then why don’t you give me a hand over he–“ he cut off with a grunt, the woman’s knee buried between his legs.
“Unhand me, filth!” the woman spat, drawing up proudly as her assailant staggered back, hunched over, “And stay back unless you want more of that!”
Bern let out a long breath through clenched teeth before looking up from his crouched posture, grinning cruelly at the defiant woman, “I’ll see you bleed for that, b!%. he spoke with deliberate calm, pulling out a wickedly curved knife from beneath his shirt, and provoking a sadistic chuckle from Lerro, who took advantage of the woman’s distraction over the blade to circle around her and block her escape.
“You’re going to suffer,” Bern whispered pointedly, stepping forward slowly.
“I said stay back!” the woman pleaded, her confidence draining away at the sight of the vicious looking weapon, taking a step backwards and gasping sharply as she collided with Lerro’s hulking figure.
“Oh, I’m going to enjoy this,” Bern continued, as Lerro took hold of the woman’s wrists. He lifted the knife, allowing it to glint faintly in the dim light, holding it there threateningly to draw out the moment before he would strike. A loud crack rang out, and the woman flinched.
“This is Sa’an territory,” came a growl from the darkness behind Bern, who’s arm was held taught by a black leather cord, “I’m the only one here with hunting privileges on these streets.”
Dropping the whip, the dark form sprang from the shadows at Bern before he had chance to react, tearing out the man’s throat with a single motion of the arm then hunching over his limp body to look menacingly at the remaining thug.
“Stay back!” the words rang out again, though it was Lerro’s fear tinged voice this time, the large man holding the woman to shield himself from the unknown threat posed by the black skinned creature, which stooped over the lifeless form of Bern.
“Don’t worry,” the newcomer spoke firmly, raising a bloody hand to point down the alley, “you can leave with your life, this time. But be sure to tell your employer he should keep his business off these streets; they don’t belong to him, and he’ll pay dearly for any attempt to challenge that.”
“You don’t know who yer dealin’ with!” the thug shouted in impotent challenge, before shoving his captive to the ground and fleeing the scene, his footsteps echoing loudly. The prone woman looked up with worried eyes, sensing from the conversation that her ‘saviour’ may be no better than the thugs from whom she had been liberated, “thank you?” she offered hesitantly.
“You’re welcome,” the dark skinned man replied, rising from his hunched pose to stand upright, his voice softer now.
“You should really know better than to walk unescorted through this district, especially at night. Perhaps I could remedy your oversight?” he continued, offering her a hand.
When she did not immediately take it, Elmario began to feel slighted, but then grinned inwardly as he withdrew the bloody hand and offered her his other, which she accepted after only a few moments of hesitation.

MA, here is wishing the best for you. To short trial, a speedy recovery and a lesson well learned. I hope you are back soon.
I have a weird character combo. 1 level barbarian, 2 levels paladin. When I thought of Tomas's back story I thought the barbarian best fit his inability to back down. I looked for rules about ex-barbarians and could not find them, so I am not sure if this means there are no hindrances.
There were 2 pieces of equipment that I wnated him to have and so I added them despite them not being in the rule book. A straight shaving razor for 2gp and the Coreanic canon, The Liturgy of Mithril for 15 gp.
I also did not include a bonus feat for background. I am not sure if you think my backstory is up to that level.
