The tricky thing with this AP will be trying to make the Dungeons/Castles feel different to Scarwall/Foxglove Manor.
From what we have in already and what's planned, consider that NOT a problem. We've been to the haunted house and haunted castle well already, and while we'll surely return, the "house" and "castles" planned for this AP have much more than ghosts going on. :)

Oooo! I'll be looking forward to it even more then!

Also, keep in mind that Tar-Baphon is/was the foremost adherent and promoter of the Whispering Way on Golarion. You might want to go read about that philosophy's end-goal and see how that grabs you. For instance, if the Whispering Tyrant returns, you could see the world populated with a lot worse things than just vampires. :-]
But that's just my two-cents,

I guess the thing that gets to me though is if you're playing a Paladin, which I was planning on doing (Lastwall anyone?), then it isn't a choice between one or the other.
Of course purge the world of Tar-Baphon's vile influence... but get rid of the vamps and werewolves while you're at it. Why would your character look at it as an either/or thing?

Mine, wouldn't, he would look at it as: 'The tyrant is more evil, and should take all of my immediate concentration. We've seen werewolves change their ways before to be no so evil, so if I can have them see that following the light allows you to do things that they coudn't do on their own, maybe I can convert some of them. If Not, I can at least use them as an army to defeat the lich and Evil purging evil is win/win. Some who do amazing things to help our cause might even gain reprieve from my deity's smite, at least until I hear about trouble starting up around here again.' Remember Pack mentality is normally Lawful, so these creatures should be convertible, where NE or CE would not be in a paladin's eye.

Probably already announced but I was wondering when the player's guide for this is to be released. It is two short months (short do to busy hoildays) until the adventure path comes out and I would like to have characters down and maybe get a quick encounter out of the way before diving into this.
Thanks for the great products btw.

Judging by past player's guides it won't be released until the first AP volume ships to subscribers.

First off, I love gothic horror and am anticipating this AP with baited breath. I do have one concern though, and it involves the BBEG...
Generic Villain |
Hm, looks to me that templates will be involved for that thing and having read more than once that (new) templates or combinations of templates are not the big thing at Paizo, I rather doubt it/hope for another antagonist.
Ruyan.
It's hinted at the end of Hungry that Lucimar will transform from a straight up wolf, to a more human-like shape. I figure he'll look like an undead werewolf in crinos... er, hybrid form. Which again, could certainly be "cool enough" for BBEG status.

Werewolves Vs. Vampires? You guys haven't done that but, dang, seems like it's been pretty well covered lately in some other format.
Underwhelmed so far.
Awesome! Thanks for that link!

Random curiosity... how tightly connected are the individual modules? I mean, I understand this is an Adventure Path and there's a story arc, but say I theoretically have a group that's already beyond the level range of Haunting of Harrowstone. Would I be better off trying to scale Haunting up, or is there some way I could get the group in directly to Trial of the Beast? Or, for that matter, the later modules?
Again, this is mostly theoretical but I thought I'd ask. I'll almost certainly still get the full set, and worst case scenario after wrapping up the story I'd be running we can always work up fresh characters for the AP. But I might be running a game soon and I've got a story in mind but I'm trying to plan things out ahead of time.
And if that's just too specific to be revealed before the AP comes out, I totally understand.

Are people really complaining that the text of the adventure modules sounds like we might do something with the undead/lycanthropes other than just *kill kill kill*? Someone above suggested that it would be more fun to just murder all the werewolves, and another person said that being a serial killer was just okie dokie if your victims were vampires? Where are you getting this stuff, Dexter?
In the world I come from being the hero means not being a bloodthirsty psychopath. It means frequently being willing to give the benefit of the doubt, cooperate with, or even protect some unlikable people. Personally I'm THRILLED with the descriptions involving negotiating with ghosts, defending a monster, protecting werewolves, and working with vampires. To me it sounds like this campaign is going to be awash in lovely shades of gray where all is not quite so simple as good vs. evil, appearances may be misleading, and some actual mystery remains about what exactly is going down. That is way more interesting and horrifying than a game of go bash the beasties.
I say bring on the horror, and the ambiguity! The truly evil and vengeful spirits will stand out all the more for being contrasted with the tragic, the misunderstood, the petty, and the lost.

I just got to play the first session of Carrion Crown yesterday on an actual tabletop (no virtual, no PbP) and it was awesome. Definitely one of the best starts to a campaign I've experienced in a very long time. It had all the best elements of a CoC game, plenty of opportunities for great roleplay and an intriguing mystery.
Well done, Paizo.

No, it's not.
(When it comes to vampires and lycanthropes... and 99% of undead, too. If I'm playing in a gothic horror campaign, I expect to put those things down. And so do my players.)
But hey - I'm all for ambiguity. Sometimes. Depending on the foes. And once is okay! But - as the scenarios were originally described - three times?
I. Think. Not. I have no interest in playing Vampire: The Angsty.

This is hardly Vampire. It sounds like you want hack 'n' slash not horror. Luckily for you it is D&D and it is easy to have that kind of game. Personally, I'm glad to see more materials coming out that ask the players and the GM to invest in a story, play well-rounded characters, ask questions about morality and so on. No reason both our play styles can't coexist and Paizo is doing plenty with their various AP's to accommodate us both.
