So true.

EDIT: Animal Rescue for ToP!

Ha. You're right about that. Unfortunately, our toddler barks loudly at strangers.

I'm donating blood this evening. Hopefully the resulting posts won't be too woozy.

Good for you! I don't do that anymore. With low BP, it's easy to black out. One time my BP was at 98/60 and they still took blood. Of course I blacked out. Duh!

Oh, man.

I've donated blood since I was in college, except for a 5-year hiatus when a false positive for Hepatitis was enough to get me on the disallow list. There was only one time they thought about turning me away--I had a pulse over 100 (I guess the drive in was stressful), but they just waited for a few minutes and my pulse dropped back to normal.

Luckily, I've never had complications donating blood.

Need some more positive vibes today. I'll be taking the semi-annual fitness test within the next few hours. I'm not in horrible shape or anything, but this is somethine I always dread...major test anxiety.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Just a quick post to inform folks I probably won't be on today- the intarwebs are down at work. I'm posting this from my netbook on the sly.

Best wishes, Paris. I'm sure it will be a relief to get it over with.

It's kind of cold this morning, I'm bundled up with my laptop, but I was too lazy to make coffee and had cold cereal instead. I hope everyone is having a good, warm morning.

I just discovered that Orson Scott Card is writing a new fantasy series AND a book I enjoyed is part of a series...a new series to enjoy! woot!

But I'm not allowed to buy anything for myself until after Christmas (family rule). I don't know if I can stand the suspense!

Kinda like hibernation, which is why it's so hard for me to wake up sometimes.

EGADS! BUT...but...technically, isn't it always "before" Christmas? Damn! It's like that whole gremlins eating after midnight thing! Which midnight? What happens if they cross a time zone? Or if they're subjected to light speed?

I'm so confused...

Yeah, half the fun of a big purchase is the anticipation and planning. LIke a big part of the excitement in creating a character for a campaign is going over and over the character's personality, motivations and possible build directions.

...

but there's something to be said for instant gratification as well. :)

I'm really excited about the series. It's a prequel and two sequels to one of those books my dad would always stop to mock me for reading. "The protagonist is a girl that fights? That's ridiculous! Girls can't fight - they exist to be the romantic interest of the protagonist or to be rescued! You should read girl stories about romance and hairstyles and babysitting! And stop stealing my Sci-Fi books I get from the library off the library shelf!"

I know my parents were very sad when I moved to Houston from Michigan. I'll get random phone calls (usually from mom) talking about how she wishes I was here to help her with errands, cooking for family get togethers or running interference between her and her parents/in-laws.

hehe.

I was thinking the same thing about the Sons part. I have no daughters yet.
